J Whyman Septic System Construction

Jon disgusts me. I called him to get a quote for a property I was working on, and he actually MOCKED me, because I said the word “like” too much. I don’t recommend him to anyone as he’s clearly hard to do business with. There are plenty of kind, smart, and honest contractors in lynnfield and I would absolutely choose all of them over this man. He was also a nuisance to the fact that we weren’t the property owners although we explained in several times. Terrible business.

I worked with Jon to move out the septic tank in our backyard; the leaching fields remained in place. He had installed a new leaching field for a previous owner, and was familiar with our house and the system. We needed to move out the septic to prepare for an addition on our house. No complaints; Jon was very quick to respond via phone and email. The work itself took 2 days in total with no interruption in service; there was about a week while we waited for the town to inspect and approve the work. Didn't have to move out of the house; just had to stay out of the backyard. One note - we didn't pay for landscaping after the work was done, since we were going to dig up the backyard for a new foundation. However Jon backfilled and leveled the yard so it looked fine, just no grass till construction is done. Overall I would work with Jon again and recommend his work.

Septic system was installed and hydroseed ed just in time for the walkthrough. During installation, the buyers for the house were asked if they wanted the pool. I was not asked and found out the pool was punctured and being drained because the buyers really didn't care about the pool. Bottom line though is the system was installed and the Title V certificate granted.
