We had a great experience with Matt & the Green Valley Construction team. We couldn’t be happier with the outcome of the remodel, the kitchen feels like an entirely new space. The service was very professional and was able to stick to the proposed timeline despite making a handful of changes to the project along the way. We have already recommended their services to friends and family would definitely hire again for future projects!

Original: Things went well overall. Any bumps in the road were to be expected and were handled well. We were happy with the communication and the suggestions given throughout the project. Matt was responsive to our calls and text messages always. Some small things need to be finished. Probably has nothing to do with the contractor and I am sure it is expected but the only complaint we really have is the condition the yard was left in from day to day with trash and other materials. Inside there were spills and food left out. We were not living there so I am sure that was part of the reason. Overall we would recommend Green Valley Construction. We are very pleased with Green Valley Construction. This is a follow-up review because we wanted to be clear that the trash left around the work site was not a reflection of Matt's work ethic. We would use this company again without a doubt and we have recommended Green Valley Construction to family members. We have a beautiful home now and we are so happy with the end result.

Matt is great to work with! He was quick to respond to questions, addressed issues as they arose, and kept the project moving. Many neighbors commented on how surprised they were that we always had someone at our home working, unlike other projects they've seen/experienced where no one shows up for weeks at a time. Matt had the foresight to order long-lead time materials early in the project so we did not have to wait for materials to arrive. He worked with us on achieving the vision we had for our master suite, going above & beyond to accommodate the final design of the bathroom, including building a large custom vanity. Matt is a great guy and the end product is beautiful!

We are so happy we chose Matt and Green Valley for our full house addition and renovation. From the first meeting Matt was thoughtful and honest about the process, what was possible and we could tell he truly wanted to make our vision a reality and we can honestly say he did. We are extremely happy with our renovation. Our house is beautiful and we have gotten many compliments. Matt was extremely resourceful while working through constraints during the pandemic. Can’t wait to make many memories here!

The project went great. The workman were professional, friendly and cleaned up at the end of each day. The remodel stayed on schedule and on budget. We had some changes come up and the were very accommodating. Overall a great experience.

Matt was excellent to work with from start to finish. At first meeting him, we could quickly tell he was honest and fair in his work. He always kept us up to date on status and timeline, and was very sensitive to the fact we were living in our house through a major renovation. He would bring up ideas in the design or suggest changes and discuss them with us real time giving us better options than we could think of, using his experience at what makes the most sense for our space. He was quick to come back for any questions or punch list items, and was very tolerant of my OCD/picky self. We will be using Matt again for future work on our house - he is honest, fair, and stands behind the final product.

Our basement remodel with Green Valley Construction turned out beautiful! Matt, the PM and owner, was great to work with from start to finish! Matt kept us informed throughout the project on the progress, subcontractors arrival/schedule etc. Matt kept the project timelines on track (which was crucial for us!). They did an amazing job finishing our stairway, giving it an awesome polished banister and spindles leading into a great new space and extra bedroom with legal egress! The painter has great attention to detail and is dedicated to producing a great finished product! Matt is very personable and does a great job without cutting corners. I highly recommend him for any project you may have!

We had an excellent experience using Green Valley Construction, and would recommend Matt Brooks and his company to friends and family. Matt and his company transformed our unfinished basement space into a multi-use, finished space that is bright and welcoming. Matt kept us well-informed of progress throughout the process and he always responded to our questions promptly and professionally. We never felt that our project was forgotten, or that our requests were being ignored. Matt kept the project moving at a steady pace and let us know when to expect sub-contractors to come in and whether the work would have any impact on our daily lives. Matt kept the project expenses in line with the project estimate, and he always let us know if a request we were making would add extra costs to the project, or if the requests were already planned expenses. We are very happy with our decision to use Green Valley Construction for our project, and would use them again in the future.

When we started this project, bringing Matt on board was a no brainer. We had used Matt a few years back on a kitchen and bathroom renovation. Not only did that project go fantastic, Matt was beyond great to work with. So on a project of this scale we really wanted to work with a contractor that we could trust and who’s work is of the highest quality. We had developed a great relationship with Matt over the first job and he knows what we like. So having Matt on this job definitely put our minds at ease. Despite the fact that we all had to deal with a shutdown of the economy and production due to Covid, Matt and crew have dealt with those issues and come up with great solutions to keep work moving. Every aspect of our design has been executed with great detail and even adding in suggestions that we very happy with. Our house has turned into the house we always wanted. It’s been a pleasure working with Matt again. Without question, we would work with him for a third job but I think he gave us everything we could want or asked for in this job. Very very satisfied.

We were so happy to work with Matt & Green Valley Construction for this project. We had some unexpected issues arise with our initial plan, and Matt talked us through some different ways we could address the project. He checked in with us every step of the way, making sure he knew all our preferences and emphasizing that he wanted us to be happy with the outcome. Green Valley was great to work with! They remodeled our basement into a playroom for our kids, as well as added a half bath and laundry area. The existing space was falling apart, dark, and depressing. Matt and his team completely transformed the space into a bright, modern, and cheerful place to spend time. Matt was very easy going, respectful, and easy to work with. We are in love with the custom rustic doors he made for two spaces that would not fit a typical door size. He was very responsive to any questions or concerns we had during the remodel. We would absolutely work with Green Valley construction again and highly recommend them.

I had a great experience with Matt and his company Green Valley Construction. I initially hired him to renovate my basement and basement bathroom; it was a gut job and needed to be completely torn out and redone and relaid out. Matt was very transparent with the costs, potential issues, pulled all the permits and did a stellar job. His crew was diligent and they always showed up to work and I never felt my job was abandoned; it's good to know exactly where you are in a project (especially when you are living through construction work) and Matt made sure I always knew what was going on and what the next step was. He gained my confidence quickly and as a result, I asked him to take on more jobs at my property while the basement project was going on that I had hoped to have done eventually down the line. So he replaced my bulkhead door, tore down my old 3 seasons porch, restored the outside of my house and built me a new deck and patio. Fantastic work!

We have had a great working relationship with Green Valley Construction and all the workers brought into our home. Our basement had been totally gutted and in a raw state. Matt of Green Valley listened and responded to our wishes for a basement remodel. He was sensitive to the multiple changes and challenges that are required in creating a multi uses space. Matt responded to our calls in respectful and always timely fashion. Matt and his crew framed the of a hoped for workshop and a separate family space. The cellar was then insulated, superb lighting installed, upgraded electrical service managed with the town and challenging plumbing alterations completed. The family space needed and received customized storage in multiple areas. Matt and his crew created a beautiful full tile bathroom, and tiled shower in a laundry area that had previously not existed. A mirrored barndoor, vinyl flooring and perfection painting throughout made this a centerpiece of our home. We no longer dread going to the basement. The basement now has two busy crafting seniors playing with energized grandchildren. The transformation has been amazing. We are so grateful to Matt's wise direction and selection of subcontractors that made our vision come alive.

I had hired Matt based on the exceptional reviews on here and my meetings with him in which I really liked him. Matt was responsive to phone calls and emails but I would say the workmanship was fair. The bathroom looks really nice but I had to be on top of them all the time to make sure that things were done properly, completely and in a professional manner. If I hadn’t been on top of things, things would be in odd places, walls not smooth, caulking not completed everywhere, and painted unevenly. Then the barn door is not staying in the wall properly and I have had to hire someone else to redo the wall because the wall did not have enough interior support to handle the door. Also his electrician and plumber made errors as well. Also, the job went way over the time frame he gave me given his time management issues (e.g., not calling far enough in advance to schedule granite company to come do the measurements and installation).

We hired Matt to completely finish our once old and scary unfinished basement, something we had talked about doing for years but never thought possible given the age of the house (late 1800s) and unique challenges (dampness, field stone foundation, uneven concrete floor). The scope of work included adding a bathroom with shower, designing a family room including fireplace accent, creating a laundry area and storage areas, with built ins throughout. We have had a great experience with Matt. He has creative ideas on how to approach projects and is a perfectionist, which shows in his work. He has a great sense of design and will take the time to discuss recommendations and pros and cons of doing something a certain way. We have appreciated in particular Matt’s responsiveness. He is quick to respond by phone or text, even late in the evening and weekends. When we had a random issue with our HVAC system during a hot summer spell (completely unrelated to Matt’s work) and were not able to get home to find the problem, Matt went to our house in the evening to look at it. He even stopped at the Home Depot to buy a tool he needed to diagnose the issue. We were blown away that Matt went out of his way to do this, knowing it took him away from his family. There have been several times that Matt has gone above and beyond in this way. Matt also works with a top notch team of specialist sub-contractors (plumbers, electricians) who have done excellent work in line with the overall project. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Matt and are looking forward to working with him again!

I had a great experience with Green Valley Construction. Matt was friendly, professional, and honest. He communicated well throughout the process. Even though my projects were small, he dedicated the same attention and energy as he would a larger project. I also consulted with Matt about a bathroom remodel. He really listened to me, made great suggestions, and provided a timely and competitive quote. I would not hesitate to hire Green Valley Construction again.

We had great experience working with Matt and would highly recommend his services. With full time work and kids, we were looking for a contractor who is responsive, trustworthy and flexible with our schedule. Matt offers all of that and more. We met at least 10 contractors and finalized on Green valley Construction. We were pleasantly surprised that Matt always answered our calls or texts (even on weekends and late hours); we didn't see that with most of the other contractors. Matt also has great sense of design and he was able help us with best utilization of the space; while working within our budget. He is very resourceful, knowledgeable and an honest person. When me and my husband bough our first condo we wanted to hire someone to do a built in for us as we had limited space. We found Green Valley Construction on Craigslist and reached out to them. We were so happy with the work they did that now almost 8 years later they are the first ones we call when we need any contractor for our home. Most recently, just after we bough our first house, we needed a contractor for a few jobs. Green Valley Construction built us a beautiful new deck and outside stairs and installed new doors. As always we were very happy with their work! They are very responsive, finish on time and provide helpful advice on each of the projects.
