They were higher on the install than ADT, but lower for monitoring so it worked out to be about even cost wise, maybe even a little less. They were punctual, knowledgable, professional, LOCAL and had the home phone line free program we were looking for. Zack was a great representative. Will continue to use.

Description of Work: After our next door neighbor's house was broken into, we decided to have a security system installed. There were two local security companies. We wanted to use local so that the system was not monitored in another state, which I believe is the case with a lot of the companies that advertise a "free" system for you. Beware of this "free" part. We chose Wayne Alarm because they have an A+ rating from the BBB, and they are also a larger company than their local competitor. Our Sales Consultant, "Barry Kolsky", was great. He arrived on time & was neat, professional & knowledgeable. The knowledgeable part was very important as we had no experience with a security system. After listening to our concerns, inspecting our property & looking at where the break-in was @ our neighbors home, Barry came up with a plan for our house. Let me say here that I had no idea of the cost of installing security, but I was sure it would be expensive. Not true....We got everything we wanted & more for an incredibly reasonable price, with 24/7 monitoring. The team who installed the system came exactly on time; they were neat, very professional, patient, & explained everything to us about the system. Note: they actually came during a major snow storm & even covered their shoes with special covers to not track in any dirt or snow. After they finished their work, I decided I wanted an additional monitoring box put on another floor so I called. No problem even though the storm went on for another day....they came back the next day and stayed until they were able to complete what became a very difficult electrical job. Again...no complaining, no clean-up for me, and after 5 hours of two people working, the box was in, & I was only charged a lower amount for the higher priced box. There was no additional charge for two people working for 5 hours. After watching the amount of work this team did for 5 hours, I could not believe I was only charged a lower amount for the box ($165 for a $250 box). As to how do I like the system, & is it easy to use?? I never wanted a security system as I thought it would be an expensive pain in the neck. I was wrong, wrong, wrong. The system is very easy to use, is unobtrusive, & I am in love with it. I could not explain the feeling of security I have now. BTW, I did call the other local company available to me while I was comparing them to Wayne Alarm. The other company tried to sell me additional equipment over the phone, before I even made an appointment with them. They also told me I would save "a lot of money" off my homeowners insurance, which I found was not true when I called my insurance agent. Yes, you save some money. I don't have the exact amount yet, but my agent said it isn't a lot, probably about 5%. Barry never used this as a selling feature, and when I asked him about it, he told me the truth. When all was said & done, I got everything I wanted and then some for less than $1,500, for a big house...and this includes 6 months of 24/7 local monitoring. The monthly monitoring charge is $24.95 with a 3-year contract. I believe you can sign a one-year contract for $26.00/month. This was also a lot less money than I expected, even with a 1-year contract. I highly recommend Wayne Alarm Systems, Inc. & our sales consultant, Barry Kolsky.
