TUAN FLOORING SERVICES

This group was hired with a strict list of target dates. Puchased at the end of November, 1995, I had one month to complete what was to be a partial renovation of the condo unit, including a complete painting at the end, including one week on the floors, to restore them to what I knew and wanted them to be. Move-in date, was December 30th, 1995. Tuan's Flooring responded beautifully to the task. They completed everything in 6 days; the floors had the necessary drying and hardening time, and the movers came at the prescribed date to move me in. I have now been at that same address for 19+ years. Tuan's gave my floors the firm foundation they needed. I still have no carpets on the hardwood floors. With my care using a product that I found, I have never had to do anything beyond bi-weekly maintenance to my floors, and they still shine exactly as they did when Tuan's finished. Their attention to the project was masterful. They worked fast and hard, beating me to the condo every day, to complete their work, including the closets, foyers, kitchen. They never stopped. They stayed late on a few occasions to finish an important piece of the project. If my floors need anything, I will only call Tuan's. (n.b.) in 1995 Tuan's Flooring was not the name of the company, so I am only 95% sure I am recommending the exact company with this submittal. But I sense that the owner must have submitted my name because he or some of his crew are still the same.

Tuan came in on short notice on a recommendation to clean up the mess that some other contractor left. I had very deep scratches and marks on my wood floors. They looked extremely old and warned out. The other contractor "refinished it" and it still looked terrible. I was told that the scratches were too deep and that he couldn't get them out without sanding too much off the floor. Tuan took one look and call BS. He showed me some markings and said this floor has NEVER been sanded and is "virgin". I was skeptical but gave him a shot. Tuan was extremely quick and efficient. Finished project over 2 days (floors needed time to dry). He did an excellent job! It looks BRAND new! I can see my reflection it's so shiny. Everyone who has seen it is amazed at the transformation! I even showed the other contractor and was like this is what it should look like! Tuan is also a riot to talk to. He is really funny and a bit crazy, but in a good way.

In general, Tuan did a good job. The real selling point to using his service is the price. He installed white oak floors for $5.50/sqft, and redid two rooms for only $150. That said, the quality wasn't exactly as great as I have seen other companies do. However, the total price was over $1000 less than other companies were charging, so I would probably do it again, because really only a perfectionist would notice the few brush marks in the poly. Tuan works like a horse, he did the floors very very quickly, which was nice, given we needed to move into the house. You can't say anything bad about his work ethic. However, he tends to be quite loquacious, and likes to say some strange things (in a thick Asian accent). Sometimes it was a little off-putting. Some folks have said he's crazy, which I guess I'd agree with, but he only takes quick brakes for cigarettes. The only legitimate issue was that he didn't cut the holes for our heat registers large enough or put the doors back on their hinges, but I was able to take care of both in under thirty minutes, so that's not a big deal at all. All in all, I would use Tuan again.

He did some repairs to the floors first, then he did the sanding and the refinishing. Everything turned out fantastically. I have been very pleased with his service. The price was very good.

He is a hard worker and did an excellent job. It should be noted that he is a little crazy, but overall a good guy.
