The Pros, Inc. - Landscape Design & Build

I would not hire The Pros Inc. (TPI) AKA The Pros Landscape Management Inc., owner Salomon Lopez Perez (SLP), and I do not recommend them. TPI installed a new home lawn: removed grass & topsoil, replaced topsoil, & applied Hydroseed in 2023. Outcome is a “failed lawn” per SLP. I contacted TPI/SLP many times; they failed to perform. TPI demanded payment of the project balance before the hydroseed was applied. By 8/21/23, I sent photographs of dead patches and dying grass. TPI said they will “fix” the lawn; TPI was a no-show on 8/26/23. I emailed photos on 9/15/23 showing dead grass and continuing deterioration. TPI came to hand-sprinkle seed; no hydroseed; did not replace dirt. I sent more photos on 10/27/23. On 11/18/23 SLP says he will have a crew come next spring [2024] “to rake, spread new soil, reseed, fertilize so we can help the lawn grow and thrive for the season.” SLP never followed up. On 5/1/24 and 5/3/24, I called/emailed SLP and TPI and he visited the lawn on 5/20/24 and called the lawn “a failed lawn.” SLP arranged a soil test via a different landscaper; results on 7/21/24 show the TPI soil provided has very low cation exchange capacity making it difficult for the soil to support growth of healthy turf. That company recommended the soil be replaced and re-seeded. A second sample analyzed by a university laboratory reported that the electrolytes in the TPI-provided soil contained undesirably high electrolytes (Mg, P, Al), out of range of desired levels to grow and sustain grass; 53.4% of the TPI dirt is gravel, not compatible with growing and sustaining a lawn. Naked eyes can see pebbles. As of 8/6/24, TPI-SLP failed “to fix” our “failed lawn” or refund partial payment. TPI delays/ignores customer’s request to complete their work and keep their word to fix it. TPI urges customers to post only positive reviews, so prospective customers should beware that reviews may not be representative of TPI’s customers’ satisfaction with TPI. 👎 "That's a fail" to quote Top Gun Maverick.

When my partner and I first saw our property in the winter of 2022 we immediately agreed that a back yard patio would be a perfect addition to this well-maintained home. We moved in during the summer 2022. In the spring of 2023 we were ready to begin the job and enquired with 3 contractors found through Angi's List. We got 2 estimates and after meeting Salo Lopez we finally settled on The Pros because of the price and quality of the materials they proposed to use, thermal bluestone. Salo estimated a fair price within our budget and was very professional. The Pros were excellent at communicating the start date for the job. When conditions and schedule changed they notified us. The job began and I had the pleasure of meeting the crew. The foreman, Hector, went over the job and work began. The Pros installed a 630 sq ft bluestone patio that required leveling by about 2 ft on the down side of the slope. They also installed a drain in front of my garage and patio and tied in the down spouts from the garage to an underground french drain. Hector was very good at addressing all my concerns and the job was completed. They did an outstanding job and even returned to adjust the drain and polymeric sand installation. The Pros are very good at communication and quelling anxiety with a large project like this. I highly recommend this professional and hard working company for landscaping projects and will use them in the future.

The name fits the work that they do...they are The Pros!! On time, within budget, they did exactly what we wanted them to do. Plus they added their personal touch to enhance our yard even more. We are now manicured and the best yard on the block. We cannot say enough good things about this company..HIRE THEM!

The Pros did a splendid job for my steps and retaining wall replacement. They work very diligently and professionally. Thet listened what I wanted and well executed the job. The level of work completeness was great. I strongly recommend them!

They said the date and time that they will come out and then they showed up, their price is reasonable. I had no problems at all I was very happy w/ their service and I will use them again.

Salo, Alex and the crew were incredible in every way! They designed a beautiful backyard patio (all while keeping the cost as low as possible), replaced our fence and added a side walkway w fence and door. Their workmanship was fast, high quality, kind and professional. I highly recommend them!!

Contacted The Pros about our grading and drainage issues, and before anything else, they asked us what our budget was, which we considered to be a good sign. That we were able to schedule the work within a month was also a bonus. The quote was laid out very clearly, and in detail, so when Salo and his team actually were onsite, they knew what they were doing. The work was originally only supposed to take 2 days, but with the shortening days in late fall, it stretched into 4, but they stayed on until everything was done and cleaned up. All in all, we were very happy with the work Salo and his team did for us, and the aestethic and infrastructural improvements to our property were remarkable.

Salo and his team did a great job. Salo spent ample time preparing an estimate and was extremely accommodating with all change orders (several). They outbid the other competing bids and provided 30% more finished work than the competition would have at their bids, and hit budget. We were a bit nervous at first because of the size of the job (rip and replace (2) separate stone walls - 38 ft. and 90 ft., rip concrete patio and replace with blue stone). They excavated roughly 1100 sq. ft. of my backyard and removed 800 sq. ft. of concrete to make this project happen. Salo and his team were professional and always answered our questions and made the necessary changes requested. Some finish work (grass) needed attention a month after being fully paid, and Salo and the team came back and fixed everything. We have already referred them to others and will continue to use them ourselves!

They kep me waiting from july of 2020 until this year and now i received a message that they are not able to do the job saying that im not thei priority because they are busy doing large contract.

Salo and his team were wonderful. I had them give an estimate for a patio install last summer and they stayed on budget, the quality was great and they stayed on time and according to plan! Salo came back and inspected the work and checked to assure I was satisfied as well. Wonderful service from beginning to end. Have already referred them to others and will use them again!

It was really great working with Salo and his crew. Salo was very professional and spent ample time walking me through the entire project from the beginning to completion. Salo made sure that all my questions and needs were addressed. The crew was very professional and hard working. They often arrived at 730am and stayed past 5pm. They were very thorough and detail orientated. They re transformed my front property beautifully and am very happy with the results. I’ll definitely be calling Salo and team in the future for other landscape projects.

Salo came out initially and we talked through the project. When we were done he took pictures of everything. That proved invaluable as we were able to discuss the project over the phone and make changes without him having to come out again. Hector & his crew did a great job. They worked hard for 4 days, showed up by 8:30 every morning and cleaned up before they left each night. They were very adaptable to changes we made and completely transformed our property

The woman that assisted with my quote was very friendly and quick to answer all of my questions. This was a small project that I am planning to get completed within the year and I will definitely be reaching out once my planning is complete. I would recommend The pros to anyone requiring landscape service.

The Pros were great from the first site visit through the installation. They were a little more expensive than the other professionals we contacted, but their construction methods, professionalism, and history of great work made them an easy choice.

The fence came out beautifully. The entire team worked for an entire week on our very large project and were great and professional. Midway through the project, we had to make adjustments and Sal was very accommodating. We love how it turned out and would hire them again.

I know this sounds like a lot of complaining, but I would advise against hiring this company. We hired this company to provide fencing, hardscaping, and general landscaping for our house. Their price was considerably less than other landscaping and fencing companies, and after discussion with the company, we hired them for our project. This was a challenging experience, for three major reasons. The fencing was installed in a manner that required several sections to be replaced or redone, and only after we came on site, took pictures of the errors that had been made, and walked the fence installers through the issues, including sections where a one foot gap (!) between the ground and the bottom of the fence was created. We were told, "This is a new crew so they are learning how to do this." The paver walkway that was installed needed to be removed because it had significant gaps between pavers and stones and was oriented incorrectly, even though landscape architect plans with dimensions and orientations had been provided. The gate that was installed was not centered on a walkway or the driveway, was torqued, and had to be reinstalled because it couldn't close properly. Portions of the top section of the gate fell off in a windstorm because they weren't installed correctly. They didn't do several things like mulch removal, spreading compost, etc., even though we reviewed them several times via text and in person. There was no supervision on the project, and I felt like I had to take off of work just to ensure that more mistakes wouldn't be made. It was incredibly stressful, and though they ended up fixing all of the mistakes and were super-responsive, the process and the cost savings weren't worth it. At least the driveway looked nice; it was the only portion of the project that seemed to be done right the first time. Lesson learned.

We recently replaced our old wooden fence with a new wooden fence. Owner was very responsive throughout the process and the workers were very courteous and did a fantastic job. I think that we had a challenging rocky yard and they finished everything in 2 days. New fence looks beautiful. I would highly recommend The Pros.

Salo came out and gave us an estimate for the fence in our yard and the final bill was exactly what they estimated. The work that he and his team did was incredible. They are extremely hardworking and unbelievably meticulous and precise in their work. They are also so nice! The finished fence looks absolutely beautiful and we have gotten so many compliments from our neighbors! We were worried about putting in the fence because we had some difficult spots in our yard with tree roots and rocks but they were able to address all of those issues perfectly. If you are looking for a fence or any other services from the Pros, you have come to the right place! We give them the absolute highest possible rating for their outstanding services.
