OUTSTANDING - I will absolutely have JP McCurdy back again for further Electrical Work. The two electricians were polite, professional, and kept me in the loop asking any questions they may have had regarding my over sized light. (centering & having cords different lenths etc). I was more than pleased with the work I received.

Project went very smoothly. Dealing with J.P. McCurdy Electrical was a pleasure. They were prompt in their response to my request for a quote. Within days of my calling, owner and Master Electrician Mr. J. P. McCurdy and electrician Michael B. arrived at our house and spent 2-3 hours scoping the job, explaining their methods, how they minimize extent of damage to walls that such work requires and informing me of items they normally include in a quote. Mr. McCurdy readily accepted my request to exclude from contract the cost of daily clean-up and repairs to damaged walls, both of which I wished to perform. Within two days of the initial visit, I received a detailed tentative contract, correction of which by me was then accepted and finalized in an additional business day. Actual work began few days thereafter. It was performed by two licensed electricians, Mark S and Jason S. with some additional assistance by Michael B. All 3 individuals were very knowledgeable, courteous and careful about minimizing damage to household items as they traced the k-t circuits behind the walls. Walls were broken through at about 20 places, most of which were 4" diameter sized holes through the lath, which were readily repaired by me later. Completion of entire on-site work took 106 man-hrs and required about two weeks. Work passed inspection. Inspector especially made a point to tell me that the degree of wall damage by the McCurdy electricians was the least he has ever seen for a k-and-t job and that he liked how they ran the new Romex cables through the attic, under the joists, in the gaps created by furring strips. So overall we are very satisfied and pleased with the work by McCurdy Electrical. In addition, we also found Judy G in Accounting Dept also to be very competent, friendly and helpful in handling all adminstrative matters related to this work. I gave another electrician 3 weeks to get my work done and they strung me along and never came. I called JP McCurdy on a Wednesday needing lights replaced for a get together by Saturday. They came on Thursday and were actually early for the appointment! I consider this company my new electricians after that service.

I called McCurdy Electric and they came out within one day. The team member was punctual and explained everything. The work was completed and was done on time. I would hire them again for m electrical needs!

The two-man team arrived promptly and did their work efficiently. They were very careful in moving my glass-topped dining room table in order to reach the fixture. When they replaced the table, they noted that the fixture was not centered over the table in its original position and moved it to make the correction. They were very neat and courteous.

Great, Jack and his team came in and worked with my wife and I to layout the puck lights and switches, recommended a USB outlet ( who knew ? ) and his electricians were very nice.

Called McCurdy's for the electrical portion of my parent's renovation. An estimator showed up on time and listened to both my parent's many requests. He worked with the carpenter and plumber, noting all electrical needs. He had an impeccable eye for placement of ceiling lights and, outlets and switches. Details we hadn't considered. The quote returned quickly and was comparable to the 2 other quotes we received shortly after. We chose McCurdy's because of the attention to every detail (that needed to be brought to the attention of the others) We are so glad McCurdy's came first or we would have missed a few key needs and details. When the electricians arrived, they were prepared with all the details that had been covered in the initial meeting. They reviewed with my parents and went to work. At the end of each day, the area was cleaned up and supplies put to the side. McCurdy's men remained on time, on schedule and on budget. I can't say enough about the entire crew and the final product. The kitchen, bathroom electrical details as well as the bedroom ceiling fans look amazing. I made an appointment for someone to come at 9AM before I went to work to take a look at the job. Michael arrived right on time. I gave him a printed list of everything I wanted done, and we walked through house to mark the locations for each item. Two days later, I received an email with the estimate. We scheduled the work starting on the Monday of the following week at 7AM and would take about three days. Two electricians arrived on time and went right to work. The job required running lots of new wire and installing new work boxes. Plus all the fixtures. They also found one circuit of old knob & tube that was supposed to have been removed years ago by a previous electrician, which I had them remove and replace with new. Every day the site was left as clean as they had found it. They finished in two and a half days. JPMcCurdy Electrical Services has been doing all my electrical work for the last dozen plus years. The electricians are always professional, knowledgeable, and courteous. The pricing is about in the middle for the high quality of work they do. Two days after the job was completed, I received a phone call asking if everything was done satisfactorily. It was.

called 3 times for quote and never received a return phone call

The electrician who came out to see what the problem was charged me $130 and was unable to solve the problem. He ended up saying it was something huge with all the wiring in the attic and they would have to come back with a bigger team. They never called me back to schedule or follow-up. I called another electrician one week later who fixed it in less than an hour and for $100. It was a simple fix with the wiring at the switch. . Really no idea what they are doing and terrible follow-up.

On the positive side, the two electricians who came to do the work were great. They were punctual, courteous, and worked quickly to complete the job ahead of schedule. The poor overall rating has to do with the aggravation of scheduling, the price estimate (which was off by 70%), and getting calls back from the office. I had called the office many times to initially get the work scheduled. One of the two receptionists takes down my phone number, says they will talk with the owner / electrician, but only returned my call once or twice. When encountering problems after job completion, I have to call multiple times to get a follow-up visit. I have worked with about a dozen contractors over the last 5 years, and this one has the most complacent and aggravating customer service of the entire bunch.

After a significant delay, mostly because of overbooking and generator availability, installation went well and everything worked as it should. Because the cold weather kits were not available, they could not install it and required another appointment. That's where most problems happen. Calling, leaving messages, talking to people to leave messages to call back, emailing endlessly, the electrician that did the install leaving, after months, the kit was installed, successfully. The next hurdle was the 1 year prepaid maintenance service, oil/spark/filter change. That took 5 months to iron out when we could get someone to respond. The generator was installed 10/2012 the prepaid maintenance happened on 05/2015, because of so many communication misses. Then we paid $385 for a 1 year maintenance which happened on 06/2016, again because a combination of our availability and successfully getting the attention of McCurdy through whatever means possible. This year, 08/2017 the generator would not exercise. I called McCurdy, left messages both to a machine, in the middle of the day, and with a person in the morning. Two weeks goes by and nothing. I diagnosed the problem as the 12V starting battery, which lasted 5 years with only 85 hours on the generator, by far only exercise hours. While most questions or scheduling could be an easy ten minute conversation with everyone walking away happy, this never happened. Will not go back to McCurdy for any reason.

I loved how thorough Mike and his assistant were. They didn't just dive in to make holes. They weighed out every possible scenario (wiring thru the attic, thru the basement etc.) and got the job done seamlessly. They were very knowledgeable and professional. I wouldn't hesitate calling them again. The best part was the payment options. +++ in my book!

Extremely badly. After looking at the plug, the electrician described what he would have to do to move it: remove all baseboards. We decided not to go with it. As far as the problem I had with the air conditioning, he tested the circuit and told me after a while that everything was fine! so he did not give me an estimate. The next morning I received a bill for $260 for two hours of work when he only stayed 1.5 hours for what I was expected was an estimate... The company agreed to reduce the bill to $130. BE AWARE, estimate is billed!!

It was awesome! The technicians were excellent. They were able to come out in two days after I called. I was in a bit of a time crunch, but they were willing to make an exception for me due to my wife's medical condition. I had called other electrical companies and they were all unwilling to make an exception even given my circumstance. I was very pleased with the customer service as well. They were on time and installed the outlets exactly how they were supposed to be in accordance with the medical stipulations. All of my questions were answered professionally and courteously and the technicians were in and out quickly and cleaned up very well. I definitely know who to use in the future if I have any other electrical needs.

My husband and I were extremely pleased with all phases of the work that this company performed for us over the last several years. I was so pleased that when the law office where I work needed any electrical work at any time, the managing partners hired this company and they were also very pleased with the workmanship, professionalism and yet friendly dispositions of the individuals involved.

Everything went smoothly. Two of Jack's electricians arrived exactly on time. They went right work from room to room, installing new wiring, boxes, switches, plugs ,etc. They only had to cut plaster in one room to pull wire to a center ceiling fixture, but they repaired it so you'd never know it was cut. They returned the next day to finish and to run wire to a second floor office and install plugs for an AC unit and computers. An to add a few additional plugs in the basement. A neighbor saw their truck and said that she had also used them and had a good experience. We both will use them again.

Jack McCurdy stopped by to take a look at our needs. Since the work was going to be done in two 2nd floor rooms in our 120 year old house, Jack inspected from cellar to the 2nd floor to determine the easiest way to install the new wiring, came up with a couple of options, and gave us an estimate. He could have two of his crew come before the plasterers. Bill and Jose arrived on time and went right to work. They did everything we needed. They connected the TV, cable box, DVD, and sound system and made sure every device was programmed and worked properly. After the painting was completed, Bill returned to install a couple of fixtures. I am very pleased with the work and confident that everything was done right. Will definitely hire J. P. McCurdy Electrical again.

For the Panel upgrade, I worked with Karl. The panel upgrade went smoothly. The crew was professional and very informative as they explained their work as it related to the context of our older home. They were patient with my hovering and informative with my questions while they diligently worked away. For the other work and future work, I am currently working with Mike C. He is diligent with detailed price quoting and scope description so that we can determine which projects we want to take on either due to timing, budget, scope of work, etc. This type of project management/dialogue is particularly helpful for us to tackle projects for our older home in a manageable manner. For the actual work done recently, their crew reflected a consistent theme of JP McCurdy as thorough, informative, professional, accommodating, etc.

Two of Jack's electricians arrived at the scheduled time, performed all the work efficiently and neatly, and left the job site spotless. Bill and Jose were very professional, courteous, and did exactly what needed to be done. I have always been pleased with workmanship, professionalism, and reasonable pricing. From the office staff to the electricians on the job, it has always been a pleasure doing business with Jack and his staff. Can highly recommend.

They're very timely, call back, and always show up when they say they're going to. They do very good work.

They could have come out to look at some work that they did that didn’t turn out the way that I expected it to and they did not want to do that for free. They anted t charge me moment for it.
