Went well. Discovered after they left that one of the switches was tripping the GFI. Called them that Friday night got a response and they fixed the issue the next regular business day. Staff were great.

Did the inspection and gave me a price on fixes that needed to be done.. Did not actually hire them to do the work as of yet. Will be getting another quote before I do.. But very personable and polite and professional..

It was fine. They could have done a better job for what they did. I don’t if I would use them again. The guy could have been a little more heads up. He did it the right way but it made it a little more problematic to do something else. He could have had a little more foresight of what he did.

The scheduling of the appointment was very easy. I contacted them via Angie's list and they called me within hours to schedule an appointment. It was about 2 weeks for their first available. The appointment was at 9am, and they showed up at 9:00 on the dot. They quickly got to work and the job was done in about 1 hour. They were extremely professional and courteous. The installation looked very solid.

The service was done by Joe who was punctual and professional. The initial scheduling of the job was never confirmed after asking for a specific date. John was supposed to call back to confirm the day and time, but he never did. Joe just showed up on the day and we weren't sure if anyone was coming or not. The project was done to our satisfaction and Joe went above and beyond to make sure we were happy with the end result. I would use this provider again in the future.

The provider was top notch through the entire process. The two technicians that came to my home were friendly and very professional. The provider also was kind enough to honor a special price for the work that was done. I plan on using them for all future electrical work. We have found our family electrician.

Our experience with McCurdy Electrical is always a good one. We have used their services on other occasions with great results. This particular visit was more complicated. As we were using 2 service providers--SILA Heating and McCurdy Electrical--the electrical part of the job was inefficiently broken up over 2 calls on 2 different days. It is our conclusion that this was due to the hot water heater installer--also excellent--not being clear about timing of the events. They should have been performed on the same day to avoid an extra travel/service charge. Instead, one crew came and set up the electrical--the heating guys came and installed the water water tank. Then the electrical guys had to come back and make sure that all was working. I'm not sure if there was another way to do it. The 2nd crew seemed surprised at the charge when all was added up. In any evenly call McCurdy again, as well as SILA. Both are professional and knowledgeable and essay to work with. Great attention to detail.

We ordered the work in late October. Mr. O'Brien came the next week and installed electric outlet in bedroom, diagnosed doorbell problem as faulty transformer, described how he would do the office outlets. He did not have parts for office outlets or a doorbell transformer in truck, but said he would be back with the parts to finish the work. A week went by. I called and he said he would be by in two days, and would call first to set up a time. He did not call. Another week went by, and he scheduled a day and time. At the time the workers were due (1:30 pm) we got a call saying they were working on an emergency in Salem (an hour from us) and would be late. They did not show that day. We called early the next day, and they said that the earliest they could get back to us would be over a week later, the day before Thanksgiving. We told them that if they did not show at that time, we would fire them. Two younger men showed up, and did the work. I was not very impressed with the workmanship; the face plates on the dual boxes had a gap of about 1/8" from the boxes. They fixed the one where this was most obvious, and we felt we could live with the others. By now it was mid-afternoon and starting to snow. They rushed out WITHOUT TESTING THE OUTLETS. After they left, I started plugging in the electronic devices. The devices I plugged into the quad outlet worked fine, but as soon as I plugged something into one of the dual outlets, we lost power on the circuit. The AFCI circuit breaker for the circuit had tripped, and would not allow itself to be turned back on. I phoned the McCurdy office to report the problem. I did not expect a call back on Thanksgiving, but did expect one the next day. I got a call back from Mr. O'Brien on Monday morning. On Sunday after Thanksgiving, we had guests for lunch, and a guest was an electrician. I asked him if he had any suggestions about what we should do. He looked at the work, and went right to the outlet where the power had cut off when I used it. He had tools with him, and was able to make a temporary fix. He said that the box was too small for the amount of wires in it (It was connected to 3 other boxes in a T configuration, and the box was smaller than a standard box.) He showed us that the insulation was nicked in two places, so that it shorted out against a bare wire as soon as I applied pressure by plugging something in. He said that it looked to him like someone had nicked the wire by pushing on it with a screwdriver to force the wires into the overly small box. He applied electrical tape to the wires and put in a box extender (a temporary expedient). If the office hadn't originally been a bedroom and so had an AFCI circuit breaker, OUR HOUSE COULD HAVE BURNED DOWN. When Mr. O'Brien phoned Monday morning December 1. I told him what had happened, and also told him I did not want him back in my house again. I have called in a local electrician, and am waiting for him to get a larger box so he can fix the mess that J. M. McCurdy left behind. The company was quite prompt in one respect: They sent me an invoice that same day, December 1. It says that I have $250 due for parts and supplies, in addition to the $222 I paid to Angie's list for 3 hours of labor. I haven't decided how I want to deal with that invoice. It was installed with no issues at all.

Communication was difficult. The work ended up being okay and it came within budget but it took all winter long, which was quite disappointing. I'd advise clients to either avoid them or to put into writing the time estimate of when they're expected to complete the work.

Went very well. They were right on time and very professional. It was amazing that when I offered a tip they thanked me profusely and said that my satisfaction and gesture were plenty!

Joe and Ryan were great. Very friendly, professional and knowledgeable. Would definitely use them again. Great job!

They could not preform the work. They said I needed a part, left and when they came back they said my time was over.

I purchased a big deal for a 6 Circuit Home Generator Transfer Switch/Case Completely Installed, the SP to came out to your home with a team of three, they were on time, very polite and courteous, and knowledgeable about the job. Unfortunately I do not need this deal, but we were impressed with this company and there knowledge we intend to use them when needed for our electrical needs.

Went very well. He was extremely responsive and offered to do a bit more, but i could not get the equipment in time.

They satisfied our electrical needs. I would recommend them.

The plan was to upgrade my electrical service in the garage--installing outlets, lights, and a heater. They responded promptly to my initial contact and sent someone to provide an estimate. So far, so good. But since then things gradually went from bad to completely unacceptable. Thankfully no money has changed hands. An email on a Tuesday from the company asked and quot;how does Thursday work for you?and quot; I responded that day that and quot;that'd be great, see you Thursday morning.and quot; On Thursday morning when no one arrived, I called and was told and quot;oh, sorry, I should've got back to you--we just did the scheduling and we'll need to pick another date.and quot; OK fine, I should probably have called to confirm that Thursday date. Maybe that's my bad. We settled on another date for the work to be done, and though responses to my emails were often incomplete (e.g. failing to answer the second of two questions), we seemed to be on track. For this next date, I had been told that the crew would arrive at 7am. When at 9am no one had arrived or called, I called and was told and quot;oh with the weather today we can't make it, and it's been crazy I've been dealing with problems related to the storm.and quot; (To be fair, there was a pretty bad rainstorm with flooding.) and quot;And we've got one guy on your crew who's got a sick kid.and quot; OK fine, stuff happens. You REALLY should call your customers when you can't make it to a job, but fine. (Although which was it: the weather or the sick kid?) I decided to give them one last chance--the alternative is to call another company and go through the estimate/scheduling process again. Well here I am, on the third date. The crew was supposed to arrive at 7am. It's 9am. No call. So this is the THIRD time they've promised to arrive and the THIRD time they've no-showed with no call. This is pretty atrocious for a service business. I have no idea if it's just the guy I've been in contact with screwing up or whether the whole company is inept, but I'm not going to keep trying to give them the benefit of the doubt.

The electrician that came out was very competent. The company itself was very communicative. It operated fine for several months. However, for some reason, the power went out in that circuit. I had the electrical company come out who looked at it and said that it wasn't due to the work that JP McCurdy did. We had some lights that were also on that circuit that didn't work. I was very happy with what they did up until this problem occurred.

I wasn't happy with them. They took too long to do everything making it not worth it. I overpaid and felt like they were using the deal to have you pay for more work.

It was good. I had them check the electrical box.

It didn't turn out well. I called him and he said that he was very busy. He said he'd get back with me when the numbers trailed off. He never called me back. I was very unsatisfied and will be getting refund from Angie's List. I would never call him or recommend him.

He showed up on time and did the work and letf. Everything was clean, he was polite and well mannered. He did a great job and I would use him in the future.

We had no issues. He showed up on time and we were satisfied.
