Bob Mahoney Electric

i found BOB'S service on angie's list and liked what others had said about his service.......i called and he got back to me in a timely fashion......i needed a month or so to find the lights and fans i wanted......after i purchsed the items, i called bob and set up a date and time.......the man from his company, PEDRO, arrived on time........he worked from the time he arrived in the early morning until he left late in the afternoon (i don't think he even stopped for a lunch break)............he knew exactly what to do and did it in a rather quiet manner.......at times, i almost forgot he was in my house......pedro was very clean.....vacumed up any debris from the work and answered any questions i had about the fans, lights, etc...................i must say he was one of the BEST workman i've had in my house........i will use them again and strongly recommend them to others.

Bob showed up on time on the date we chose. He made sure his crew knew exactly what needed to be done, and made sure that they were very careful of the newly varnished floors. He left to do another job but I was very impressed by his crew of two. They were hard working,polite,careful,fast and left everything clean when they were finished. I would recommend them to anyone.

Mr. Mahoney was very responsive and came out to do the job right away. I have no complaints other than I thought he charged too much. Unfortunately, I was in a bind, needed the work done right away and was unable to shop around for a more reasonable quote.

We called early Sat morning, and they were repaired by early Sat afternoon. He did a very nice job. My only complaint was that he said he'd call back at a certain time and didn't, and then said he'd be there by a certain time and came about 2 hours late. It was a Sat, so we were happy he came at all, but would have appreciated a call saying that he was running late.

Bob was very responsive when I called for the appointment. I was able to set up the appointment quickly with one of his associates, Peter. Peter was punctual and professional and explained the work he was doing and any issues encountered. He was there for 5 hours and performed all the work needed. I would definitely use Bob Mahoney Electric again.

Bob Mahoney was great to work with from start to finish. Our 1930's colonial needs a lot of electrical work, and Bob walked through the property and gave us a very thorough estimate on the work. On the scheduled day for the work to begin, Bob and his crew arrived promptly and got to work immediately. It was an extensive job, including running wires from the electrical box up into the attic, then from the attic into the bedroom walls, and then cutting into baseboards to fit the new outlets in. It was a day-long project and Bob and his team worked really hard, were very thorough and very professional. And when they were done, they took such care cleaning up every last piece of debris, it was like they'd never even been there. I plan on using Bob Mahoney Electric again for future electrical work, and can recommend him without hesitation.

Bob responed to my intital call the same day and came out to give me a quote the next day without a charge. The quote for the work was provided in detail. Work was scheduled within the week around my schedule. Work was done in the living room, kitchen, hall and bath. It was done quickly and neatly. Bob had excellent recommendations for improving the overall appearance of the fixtures at low to no cost. His associate Pedro was INCREDIBLY conscientious, neat and did quality work. I've never seen a contractor take as much care in not just the work but also in how they perform the work. My home was cleaner than when they arrived and they took all debris away. The quality of the work resulted in my adding in a few additional projects while they were onsite and those were priced out reasonably as well. It's been a few months and all the lights are working well and have added a lot to the space. I would definitely call Bob for any future electricial needs and recommend him as well to anyone needing electrical work done.

A very easy, professional, pleasant experience

They ran a water safety outlet and installed a combination light and exhaust fan in the bathroom. The work was excellent!

This was by far the best experience I have ever had with a contractor. My main concerns were that we would lose Internet service for a day or two due to some snafu in snaking wires through our old lathe-and-plaster walls or in cutting over from the existing house network to the new one or that we would have wires exposed in our attic. My fears turned out to be unfounded. Bob and his assistant completed the job in a single day (7 am to 6 pm). We were without Internet service for only about 5 minutes at the end of the day when they cut over to the new network. At the end of the day, I was ecstatic that things had gone so smoothly, considering my experience with other jobs of this magnitude. I went up to the attic and could see no wires. Bob had concealed the expansion wires in a dark , out-of-the-way corner. I was pleasantly surprised when without asking, they moved my modem and router from its old location in the office to the basement and hooked them up to the new network. I had expected to have to do this job myself. As it turns out, at the end of the day, I was back on the Internet on my new network without my ever having to lift a finger. I am sure that I sometimes tried Bob's patience severely, as I had to postpone the work twice at the last moment and also plied him on the day of the job with a lot of questions relating to my concerns. However, if he was upset, he never showed it. He was unfailingly courteous, cooperative, and good-humored throughout. I would unhesitatingly use him again,

It was an incredible pleasure working with Bob. He was the second estimate I had gotten for my project and he had the best solution to the task at hand. He clearly is able to think about solutions in a creative way and also in the most cost effective way. He ended up suggesting a way to install our pendant that was the most minimally invasive solution (i.e . much fewer holes in my wall than I thought we might have to deal with!) and the end product is beautiful. The work and price came in right on target -- no surprises -- he just squeezed us into his schedule the next morning, did the work and that was that! It was a very easy process working with Bob, who is clearly a hard, competent worker. I would definitly call him again.

I had used Bob Mahoney Electric service before, my light went out on the first floor and we used their service to fix the fuse box. He fixed the fuse box, but it probably won't last forever. It was just an emergency fix. Recently, I used their service to check wiring in my house. He is pretty good at work. He is pretty professional. He knows what he is doing. I would use his service in the future too.

This was one of the smoothest parts of our kitchen/bath renovations. We called Bob originally in September to explain our situation and he set up an appointment within 2 days. He came when he said he was coming (right at 7AM) and spent a good 45 minutes with us going over what we wanted him to do. He had to run initial wires for the outlets on the island before it was installed, which he did in one day. When we finally got the island installed some 2 1/2 months later he came over to finish the job in one day. Again he was right on time and spent another 30 minutes with us to refresh his memory and iron out final details. He and the one guy he brought with him left no mess, no holes in the wall/floor/ceiling and it looks fantastic. I'm not sure what other electricians typically charge because we didn't shop around but the $1600 seemed very reasonable for the amount of work he did. If I need anymore electrical work I'm calling Bob.

Very professional. The electrical work went without a hitch. Scheduling was also very easy and efficient. One of my pet peeves with electricians is that they drill holes into your walls to find wiring, etc., but don't patch the holes properly. This leaves me with another errand--having yet another person come out to patch the hole and paint (or do it myself). This particular project required that some sheetrock be removed from my ceiling to search for a junction box. After the wiring was complete, he reinstalled the sheetrock and plastered it to make it blend in with the rest of the ceiling. It looks as good as new! Overall, I am very pleased with their service and would use them again.

Bob responded to my email immediately with a call. Every communication with him was professional and prompt. He and Pete showed up on time and worked very efficiently. Several of the installations needed wire run through the ceiling to new locations. After they were finished, I couldn't even tell that they had cut, patched, and sanded! Finally, they left the place as clean as it was when they arrived. Well done!

Called Bob a few days before to see if I could arrange an appointment for the Friday since I was off from work and he was happy to accommodate me with the first appointment of the day. (He also called me back very quickly.) His technician was courteous, knowledgeable, and professional. He did an excellent job reattaching and securing the light fixture and even caulked around it with a clear silicone to ensure that it remained weather tight. I also asked the tech while he was there if he would replace several old-style electrical plugs in my living room and he did quite quickly. All in all, I got great service at a reasonable price. I would use Bob Mahoney Electric again.

Bob was great, he replied to my e-mail within a few hours and arranged to do the work on the holiday Monday after the Fourth of July. He arrived on time, completed the work in a professional manner and devised a couple novel approaches to complete the jobs and save me some money. I will definitely recommend him for electrical work!

Was a small job, but came in 2 days and finished up in 2.5 hours. Friendly and very careful. He told me the smoke detectors I purchased were not going to be up to code in the near future and that I should also have a CO2 detector in one of them - he had them on his truck and sold them to me a slightly high price, but fair for the convenience. Went great - showed up on time and finished quickly

Own a condo in Beacon Hill with lots of exposed unsightly cable wiring. Bob and his team, gave a very honest estimate. They showed up to work on time and were extremely professional. Made sure to cover all exposed furniture and clean up after themselves. They were able to complete wiring in tight space and put all wires out of sight and in walls. Any holes that were made were well patched. Overall they did a great job and I would recommend them to others with unique electrical needs.

Bob was absolutely, positively fantastic. I emailed him and described the jobs we needed done (I had no idea what the proper terms were, so I appreciated his patience.) I initially mentioned two projects: replacing a ceiling light canister and rewiring/ moving an existing light. We then scheduled a time for him to do the repairs. From the initial consultation to the time he left, he was professional (on time, conscientious about not making a mess, etc), knowledgeable and extremely kind. More importantly for our family, he had a great sense of humor. There were two other projects I asked him to do, which he did promptly and cheerfully. (This is why the final bill was higher than the original estimate.) If I could give an A+, I would. I heartily endorse him.

Went well. He was easy to contact and came when scheduled. He first assessed the job and then went to buy parts. Completed job in about 6 hours. Cleaned-up nicely after himself. Price was more than we had anticipated. In the future, we would buy all electrical equipment prior to start of job as it is costly to spend $70/hr for him to go get these things.

They have done a lot of work throughout my house. I?d highly recommend them. The electrician is very professional. He is very easy to reach. His prices are reasonable.

Took a lot longer then estimated (costing nearly twice a much) and we had to help give the sub guidance that Mahoney signed up to do the work.
