Wayne Quinn, owner of Accu Siding and Home Improvements was contracted to work on my parents home in 2013. The job was started the first week in October, 2013 and an initial payment of $1300.00 was made for materials. The crew was paid for labor on 10/22/13 $1000.00. I started noticing the delay in the project 3 weeks into the job; after an area of floor tiles and carpeting were removed, the crew was still in the process of removing carpeting staples from the floor boards throughout the house and no other job was started. After the staples were completely removed, painting had begun in a hallway and continued into an adjoining room; that room was never FINISHED during the time they were contracted. Prior to painting, the crew decided it was best to sheet rock over the wallpaper; in doing so, the electrical outlets were never pulled flush to the new walls until I mentioned it to Wayne in March, 2014. The sheet rock needed to be completely cut around the outlets; only half were done. (I had to hire someone else to pull the electrical outlets and switches through.) In Addition, THEY added more work to the job by not taking care while removing the floor molding which they ultimately broke. Sheetrock was also used in 2 other rooms; those outlets and switches were also only partially done. The ceilings were painted in the rooms as well, but there were visible streak lines upon completion in one of the rooms. The paint job also included much of the second floor, which was also poorly done. There were spots that were missing paint, and areas that look like they were sanded over then painted again. The floor molding was stained and needed to be painted but were never done. The crew taped off only 2 rooms in the entire house - the entry way on the first floor and the formal living room. The crew did not use drop cloths on the floors; paint was all over the hardwood floors, even though it was agreed the floors would later be sanded. When Wayne contracted out the flooring job, he heavily padded the bill; after learning this, I paid the flooring contractor directly. Family, friends, neighbors and real estate agents were able to see the home in the condition that Accu Siding and Home Improvements left it in. Everyone agreed that the crew needed to be let go. I told Wayne that he had one week to clean up his mess. He called me one week later; after I told him why he was let go, he became defensive about the job he did, stating that I had added more work to the original job that I contracted him for. (One might think that a contractor would appreciate more work indoors during the winter months. Clearly, the job was too much for him to handle.) Then, he LAUGHED and said he had lost the keys to the house! I hung up on him. In order to complete the job I had to hire another crew. The total time it took for the other crew to complete 2 rooms: 2 days, including the floor molding and stair risers. Finally, I will state that both Wayne and his employee are smokers; they spent more time taking smoking breaks than actually working on the job. They were smoking in the house, and when I told them not to smoke in the house, they continued to do so. The house was my childhood home; as the property was vacant at the time the work was being done, the crew was not being supervised by me as I thought they could handle the job without my looking over their shoulders. Of note: Wayne started a siding job without informing me and left our job on hold for nearly 2 weeks. My mistake of hiring Accu Siding and Home Improvements cost me a lot of money; Wayne and his crew are lucky I have passed this off as a learning experience since anyone else would have brought them to court.
Description of Work: Painting of walls and molding as well as removal of both carpeting and flooring tiles. A total of $13,050.00 was paid primarily for labor as I was responsible for the materials used at the house, as well as the dumpster.

Accu was one of three different companies that we got quotes from to come to our house to perform work. The BBB rated them an A plus as I had checked all three of the companies we were looking into. They were in the middle for price range. Not the cheapest and not the most expensive. I will shorten this review and get right into the good's and bad's of Accu. Good, 1) They seem knowledgable about construction 2) Were not the most expensive. 3) They are willing to negotiate some things Bad, 1) Horrible communication- times and dates to work etc 2) Shoddy work- the work was done the cheapest way possible(re-use old wood etc). 3) Time- the job took way too long( 6 months for 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom and egress windows. We can not recommend them as the bad's out weight the good's for us.
Description of Work: Put in egress windows and remodeled 2 bedrooms and a bathroom.

The entire experience was smooth and pleasant. Wayne and his crew were awesome. Respectful of us and our property, and punctual. The entire job was performed absolutely beautifully. They are true professionals. Every detail is important. They couldn't have been more accommodating. Small details that I didn't even think of were done for me without any hassle. Like new seals around my garage doors to increase insulation properties. Installed new lights I purchased to replace older, tired looking units. Custom wrapping every window and door encompassing the j-channel to give a genuine look of wood siding instead of vinyl. Completely sealed and wrapped my basement/garage windows, which wasn't even mentioned during the estimate. It was finishing touches and superior service that made this experience a pleasure. They are neat and clean and took away all waste and debris. In a time where cutting corners seems to be commonplace and "sudden unexpected" details raise the cost from the estimate, this contractor is a cut above. I would say it appeared to me that this job was done with the care and detail someone might use on a job for themselves. I have recommended ACCU Home Improvements to family and co-workers, and will continue to do so.
Description of Work: Complete stripping of old clapboard masonite from my home. Exterior sheathing of rear 3-season porch that had never been closed under the clapboards. Complete wrapping of the house in excellent high-density foam insulation. Install new CUSTOM ORDERED siding, trim and gutters. They reconfigured my gable vents to improve the look and curb appeal.
