Description of Work: Here is why I have rated Troy's Moving so badly. (Most importantly, see items 3 and 5). |1. The estimate was well off the mark, in spite of following Troy's recommendations; |2. Many of the boxes and pieces of furniture were placed in the wrong rooms or on the | wrong floor of the new house. They did not put our mirror back on the dresser, and we | have not been able to find the wooden slats that attach the mirror to the dresser; |****3. WE BELIEVE THAT TROY TRIED TO SCAM US, AS FOLLOWS: | While the moving men were loading things on the truck my boyfriend and my adult | son repeatedly asked the men to put three our heaviest items on the truck, (our | freezer, large portable kitchen island, and Big Green Egg grill). They ignored these | requests. I called Troy who said he would "try" to send another truck and men to | finish the job two days later, but it would cost me an ADDITIONAL $800.00, (over the | $1,650.00 he had already quoted!! We rented a U-Haul and appliance truck and did | it ourselves); |4. We were due a refund because of his poor estimate but have not yet received it - 6 1/2 | weeks later; |5. When I called to speak with Troy about this and to give him feedback about our | experience he was VERY, VERY rude, repeatedly interrupting me and talking over me. He refused to hear any negative feedback. I finally had to hang-up. |We hired him because he had an "A+" rating with the BBB and because a mutual friend recommended him, but had never used his services. After speaking with him on the phone, (or trying to) regarding my concerns over the poor service we had received, I checked various sources for reviews. Troy's Moving has received a number of bad reviews, and all the the bad reviews I have read include the same concerns I had, especially trouble with Troy's attitude. | | |

Description of Work: Moved bedroom furniture - 1st floor at one house to the 2nd floor at another house. The young men were excellent and professional.

Description of Work: In June, I hired Troy's Moving & Storage for part one of my move. His team of three showed up right on time. Throughout the 3.5 hours, they worked hard, were polite, and followed instructions. Happily, I'm writing this after part two of my move, where once again, Troy's men worked vigorously to get all my stuff into our new home. I highly recommend this moving company!

Description of Work: Prompt, and professional. No damage to furniture. Troy recommended we rent storate/moving bins from another company, which meant less money for him, but made the job much easier for us and them. We moved from a 3rd floor office suite to a 2nd floor suite in same mill. They made sure all our furniture and bins were where we wanted and they were done in 1/2 day. I've used Troy moving 2 other times for personal and business before, and was happy both other times. In past, with home moving (lowell to chelmsford 2007, chelmsford to chelmsford (bus), 2009, chelmsford to lowell 2011), I've not had time to pack things, and Troy's staff packed carefully all our things into cartons, as well as moving. Hourly rate very reasonable.

Description of Work: Troys moving and storage moved me from a two bedroom apartment to a 2000 sq. foot home. I had done the preliminary packing, and they did all the moving. It took under five hours for four men to do the entire job, including loading, driving, and unloading their truck. The rate for 4 men was $145.00 per hour.

Description of Work: Move household furnitures (4 bedrooms) from one house to another house about 3.5 miles away.

Description of Work: They picked up my household goods and furniture from my house in Medford, MA and delivered them to my new apartment in Queens, NY.
