Description of Work: In early June 2012, I called this contractor to provide a price on the repair of a water damaged ceiling and wall alcove in a first floor bedroom of my two family Victorian home. This area had been demolished down to the lath and plaster and studs, due to extreme water damage. He offered to do the work on the weekend he came to give an estimate. I told him I was awaiting the prices from three other bidders and would make my decision when all the prices were in. On Sunday night I called him and hired him during the phone call. I felt his price was fair and he was insured, which was important to me. He said he would call me by Tuesday to give me a start date. No call ever came from him. I waited until Thursday, when it was apparent that he had blown off my job. I called him a number of times, but he never responded. Because this was a rental apartment (representing more than fifty percent of my income) which I could not rent until the work was complete, I lost a week's worth of construction, until I could hire another carpenter, which also caused me to lose over a MONTH'S income, causing my apartment not to be available until August 2012. I would never recommend this contractor due to his lack of professionalism. I hesitated to review this company, because I do not like to say negative things about a business.

Description of Work: Gary was very knowledgeable and prompt. The job was small. Replacing a mail box. He replaced ot in a short period of time and left it sturdy and usable again. Reasonably priced Thank you Gary.

 + 1 moreGary the Handyman is a very nice person to deal with, tells you exactly how he is going to perform whatever needs to be done, quoted a very reasonable price, and got started right away, no waiting at all. Stayed until the job was completed. Told me how the main shut off to my water supply was stuck open, and couldn't be shut off. If I ever had a water leak, which I did, he couldn't shut the water off to do the repair. Told me how to get in touch with the city to come and shut the water off at street level, so that then the repair could be completed. And to call him as soon as they came, so he could come right over and fix my leak. He will also put in a new toilet and vanity in my bath in the near future.
Description of Work: Put in a new electrical plug in the bathroom, removed old medicine cabinet and put in a new one. caulked bathtub, and did minor repair to front door jam. Fixed my kitchen sink leak, and replaced main shut off to water.

 + 0 moreGary was timely, professional, neat and creative. Creativity is key when your house sits on a funny piece of land with weird grading all over! He managed to get all the downspouts away from the house, managed to find downspouts small enough and worked with the seamless gutter folks to buy the long sections of gutter at the best price. Hire him! He is amazing!!
Description of Work: Gary came over to install gutters on my house. For some reason, the previous owners didn't think gutters were necessary so it was up to me to have all the fascia boards (rotted) pulled down, new boards created, painted and installed and gutters installed.
