Robert Milliard Roofing

They were non responsive to my initial phone call to discuss my roof leak.

I contacted Robert Millard Roofing Corp for an estimate on re-pointing my chimney and an inspection of my roof to see if it needed to be replaced. Barbara, Bob's wife, contacted me very quickly and was very professional. She set up an appointment for Bob to meet with me ASAP and within a day, he was over to provide an estimate and inspection. He was very friendly and courteous. He pointed out a few small issues with the roof, including a loose shingle, but assured me that I did not need to replace the roof right away. He did agree the chimney needed re-pointing and the flashing for the chimney needed to be repaired. He offered to fix some of the problems at no cost while he was up on the roof. Bob set up a time on the weekend to perform the work. I left a 50% deposit on the job and agreed to pay the remainder at the end of the job. After the work was completed, the chimney looked great and there was almost no trace of him even doing any work on the property it was so clean. He fixed a few shingles at no cost. We needed to order a larger chimney cap because of the size of the chimney and Bob researched some prices for me. He ordered it and is letting me pay his cost for the cap. He will provide a receipt for it and install it at no cost. I was very happy with the quality of the job, customer service, and will be calling Bob when the roof needs to be replaced.

We priced one other roofer in the area and this one was not only cheaper but didn't have any fine print. (The other quote looked cheaper at first glance but had hidden costs so it was really more expensive.) However, the quote from Millard already had the Angie's List discount which was a little surprising. Bob was punctual and even drove up from the Cape to meet at a time that was convenient for me. The work began promptly and was completed over three days because of a rain delay. Bob did our shed at no extra cost. The clean up was adequate and they called to make sure that everything was to our satisfaction. I had been dreading this job but it was an overall pleasant experience. Bob and his wife Barbara were nice to deal with and I would certainly recommend them.

I liked getting a 10% because of Angie's List and another 10% for being a senior. He came out, quoted and did the job exactly as he said. It was good. He was right on it. It was great.

Bob's office manager promptly returned my phone calls. Bob took photos with his cellphone to show me the conditions he found on my roof and chimney. I received his written estimate as he promised, within 24 hours of his visit. I got estimates from two other highly rated roofers on Angie's List but Bob's was slightly lower than the other two. He started the roofing job within a week. It would have been sooner but he waited for rainy weather to pass. He kept me informed of his plans. The job was done within the 3-4 day time frame he gave me originally. He and his crew kept the work area tidy and cleaned up the debris from the job completely. I would hire them again in a heartbeat.

RM is veryu professional. Came in the day promised and did the work very quickly with high quality. As it turns out, some of the leaking was coming from the skylights. Even though this was not on the quote, he came back and did that work as well, no extra charge. Everything is leak tight, confirmed after a couple of heavy rains. My only complaint is they were not as responsive on the follow up work on the skylights as they were for the roof repair but clearly they are very dedicated to making everything right with the customer.

I have owned my home for 10.5 years. I have never had any problems on my roof until the 2 huge storms of spring 2010. Water slowly dripped from the area around the third floor bathroom fan. I looked through the roofers here and read all the reviews of the top 30 companies in my area. 5 companies stood out for me and I called them. 1 company would only send a crew for a fee; another was honest and said I he had too many jobs in his area that he would not be able to help me; 2 companies did not return my phone call; Barbara from Robert Milliard Roofing did. She sent the owner, Bob, out that weekend to examine my roof. Bob was very punctual on Sunday morning. I showed him the third floor bathroom and pointed out the problem area. I also pointed out which wall the chimney was behind. I lent him my digital SLR and up he went. He examined my roof, vents, and chimney. I was informed that my problem stemmed from the chimney and the vent closest to it. Rather than fitting the chimney to the house with metal and putting a flange on the pipe, a previous owner cut some big corners by sealing it with tar. The tar was full of holes from the sun melting it year after year. I could not look at the pictures with him because the battery on my camera died when I tried to load the pictures. I looked at them on my computer after he left. Bob told me the other pipe was cast iron and still good, as was my roof. He also pointed out the roofs, chimneys, and pipes my neighbors. He informed me Barbara would contact me with prices on Monday and left. Barbara called me Monday evening to give me estimates. There was one installing a new vent pipe ($275) and a separate price for reflashing the chimney ($825). I asked about the other pipe because the pictures look like that pipe was a bit rusty. Barbara called Bob and he reaffirmed that having some rust on the cast iron pipe is ok. I wasn't going to be like one of my predecessors by only doing half the job. The prices sounded reasonable to me and asked when the work could be done. We scheduled for 3 days later (today) starting at 10-11am. I woke up to banging on my roof and sure enough they arrived early and were done shortly after 11! They borrow my camera again (this time with a full charge) to take pictures of their work. I looked at the pictures and they looked great. I took a walk down the street with Bob so he could point the finished work. We chatted a bit. He was nice enough to tell me about my roof and its condition. Thankfully it is still in good condition and the people who put it up didn't cut any corners on the shingles! I am happy with my experience with Robert Milliard Roofing. Bob did not have to come out on a Sunday to give me a free estimate, but he did. He and his brother were quick, tidy, and professional. He also gave me a lot of useful additional information about my roof that I didn't ask for. I definitely recommend them.

Bob and the team are great. He actually came out on a Sunday, because we had an emergency roof leak, and got the work done not more than 2 days later. Professional and pleasant. Great job!!!

We happened to have a family emergency on the day that they were out making our repairs---and they were very compassionate about the situation and wanted to be sure that we didn't have to worry about the work they were doing as well.

Very responsive. Got back to us the same evening that we called. they gave us more than one option of how to address the problem. Very attentive.

We have a slate roof, and we used them last year to replace some slates on the roof. This year, they came back and put a rubber roof over a sunroom. Squirrels had pulled apart the piece of wood that runs under the roof, and it wasn?t part of the job, but he just fixed it for free when he came out to do the rubber roof. Another roofer had actually given us an estimate and it was going to cost quite a bit of money to do that separately. He is very reliable and is responsive to questions. He did a good job and his price was good. We got several estimates and he was in the middle of the low side. The roof is still pretty new and it looks good, and so it is a little hard for me to judge the quality of his work. They were here when they said they were going to be. I would use them in the future, if necessary.

First attempt (re-flash chimney) did not solve problem completely. He came back immediately and sealed chimney and installed gutters. Problem solved! Second trip was no additional charge. I highly recommend this company. They answer the phone, are reliable and do good work.

The roofer first showed up at my house to give me an estimate. He did a great job and was very thorough. He was a very honest kind of guy. However, his truck didn't start when the estimate was over and my boyfriend helped him fix the truck while he did our roof. So, he didn't charge me anything for the work that he did on my roof. He was a very nice guy to work with. He was very upfront about what materials he had on hand. He also used some material that he had which was left over by another job. So, that's why it was okay to exchange the roofing job for the truck work, but he was very upfront about it. He was very responsive too. The quality of his work was good, as my roof still looks wonderful and I love it. We were talking about getting some other work done by him, as we had really good experience together. We did talk with him over the phone for a couple of days to find out as to when he would have the time to do that and the roof was done when I came back home from work. He is a down to earth kind of guy. I don't want to put him in an awkward position once again and would use his services again in the future, if he is willing to work with us.

Robert came out and gave me an estimate promptly. One of the reasons I hired him is because he was the only roofer to actually go up on the roof! I had to be out the day of the work and when I came home they were nearly done. I was impressed at how nice the porch roof looked. Their cleanup was meticulous.

Terrific experience, start to finish. Barbara was extremely responsive and able to schedule Bob to come to the house quickly to take a look at the roof. I got a quote from Bob and one from another company, and chose to go with Bob. He very easily could have told me we needed to replace the entire roof, but said we didn't need to ... we could fix where there were problems and our roof didn't need to be replaced in entirety at this point. We had to shift the date a couple of times to make it work on our side and they were incredibly flexible and that was so much appreciated. I emailed Barbara and asked if she could refer us to a mason to fix the steps, and she told us Bob could do it and he'd come and take a look so he could be prepared the day of the job. Bob showed up right on time the day of the job, he and his colleague were efficient and did not take shortcuts. No throwing new shingles over the old roof, they ripped everything off and did everything just right. They finished the job in one day and we are incredibly satisfied. When the time comes to replace the whole roof we will be calling Bob! We're so excited to have found someone we can trust when it comes to our roof!

This is very sad. I had called Milliard Roofing to fix the poor work done by another contractor - who turns out was also unlicensed and uninsured, and pulled the work permits under a 3rd person. I hope you will reset the Angie's List info for R. Milliard roofing to indicate they are unlicensed and uninsured. It is the best efforts for such teams as Angie's List to protect their subscribers from such contractors, and I hope you can help others to avoid the same problem I have had with work from a company who is not following state regulations.

Robert and Barbara in the office are very friendly and responsive. Robert sent me a written estimate a day or two after coming up on a Sunday to measure and look at the roof. He said he'd get to the job in about 2 weeks. A week later they called to set up a time to get started. On Saturday 7:40 AM 3 guys arrived and started working. They were pleasant and professional. They worked all day Sat, a few hours on Sunday, and had a couple of details to finish on Monday. I had let Robert know I feared there was rotted wood that would need repair, but he let me know the wood looked like new, no extra work (or cost) required. Their clean up was meticulous-perfect. The yard looked better when they left than when they arrived. Even though this was a small job for them, Robert was on site for part or all of each day. A totally positive experience.

Great job. Company was very responsive during the entire process. I originally chose a different company. When I called Milliard to tell them, they were so accomodating with pricing, schedule, commitments that I changed my mind and went with them. Worked started and completed as scheduled. Very nice work, all done as requested. This is a family crew that worked very well together. Yard was completely cleaned up when work complete. I highly recommend this company.

Prompt reply to original phone message. Estimate within one day. The estimate was for less than one I had done by a "friend of a friend" for the house only. They started the job within a week, on a Sunday morning, worked all day and returned on Monday morning. They finished by noon on the Monday, including cleaning up all trash and debris and leaving me the extra shingles they had, in case I ever need a repair. I highly recommend this company.

With both tasks, they did an excellent job. The roof repair was done efficiently. Some unexpected complications were effectively dealt with. This is a team focused on doing things right the first time. The heat cables were installed per plan. I was particularly impressed with how well this organization communicates. VERY RESPONSIVE, throughout the WHOLE process. A number of contractors, all from, Angies list, never even returned my calls! I highly recommend this organization and will use them in the futures.

Robert was extremely nice about the mistake, considering he had driven from south of Boston all the way up to Newburyport for what turned out to be nothing. He actually spent about half an hour or so with me, took some measurements, gave me advice on what I should be looking for in my estimates, talked to me about different kinds of shingles, and gave me a reasonable price range to expect. He was very knowledgeble and helpful, and I wish I could have hired him.
