Description of Work: Mr Lapan came to evaluate our basement for water leakage and repair. I couldn't say enough good things about this provider. He was great - thorough, explained everything so that we could understand him, allayed our fears about things that did not need fixing, but we thought might - he could have taken us for a ride and not only did not do that but did superb work on the French Drain he did install. I have recommended him highly.

Description of Work: I was not actually able to schedule an appointment. All communication was via e-mail. I got voice mail anytime I called. We finally had a time scheduled for a consultation and they had to cancel the day before...and they notified me by e-mail. A call would have been preferable. No follow up attempts were made by them to reschedule and I only tried one more time. It just seemed like they weren't interested in my business.

Description of Work: Had drain put inside garage. Called for an estimate they came out gave price and answered all questions I had. Called to have drain put in they came out just a few days later, they moved all my stuff in garage and covered with plastic. They did a great job and did exactally what they said they would and clean up at the end of the job and called back a few weeks later to see how everything was going. Thanks!

Description of Work: I made an appointment for an estimate for mid-February; they rescheduled twice, moving up the day and time and I agreed. On the final new date, they called to confirm directions but never showed up. I called twice but no one returned my call. This is very poor customer service and very unprofessional! The excuse they gave another member about being busy is a poor excuse. I understand companies get busy and emergencies happen, however they could at least have called; I waited 2.5 hours and cancelled another appointment. In the days before cell phones, I might have excused them not calling to advise they were not coming but not today! I do not recommend them unless you have a lot of time to waste and enjoy poor service, if this is how they handle estimates, how do they handle the actual jobs?

John came out as scheduled to provide an estimate, did not try to oversell me on unneccessary parts and provided a project & estimate that saved me some money vs. other estimates. Crew was able to start within a few weeks, as desired. Project took less than 2 days (vs. 3 day estimate), on time, exactly on budget, area was left spotless. Project was completed exactly as planned. And most importantly, after several days of rain, my crawlspace is dry!
Description of Work: Project was to eliminate the standing water problem in my crawlspace and relocate a poorly installed sump pump. Solution included installing a fench drain system and relocating the existing sump pump in basement/crawl space.

 + -1 moreHe did what I wanted him to. He was very thorough with explaining why he was doing what he was doing. He has his own website which was very helpful. He had a really good clean up.
Description of Work: He came in and put in a whole drain perimeter in the inside. He also put clean out in the four corners in the basement.

 + -1 moreVery Well. We were so happy, that when we moved to another wet basement house,we called Lapans again. John was very responsive to questions and his system works beautifully.
Description of Work: This job involves installing a so called French drain system around the interior perimeter of the basement walls. The home owner has to clear away along the walls to give room to work. The installers hang plastic curtains and do the installation which involves: breaking/cutting the floor,excavating,laying pipe, and refilling/refinishing the cement floor.

 + 0 moreFrom the day John came out to give an estimate to the day he finished, we were impressed and relieved to have the job done so professionally. First of all John is not only the owner, but was also on the job working right along with the crew. This is much different from the other companies who send out sales representatives, and then you get a crew du jour the day the job starts. Lapans' team is neat, timely and pleasant to have around. John gave us his cell phone number and actually answered it when we called with a few questions. No cigarette butts or Dunkin' Donut bags left behind like previous contractors have done. The finished system was so much neater than we had imagined and has worked perfectly so far - no water in the basement at last. It seemed like a big price tag when we started to get estimates, but to finally not have to leave work everytime heavy rains strike to man a shop vac - It's well worth it. The lifetime warranty for the pumps is another big plus : )
Description of Work: Jack hammered perimeter of basement to install drainage system (French drain) with cleanouts, auxiliary drain for hot water heater area and door threshold tie in. Included a dual pump assembly with a lifetime warranty and check valve.
