Duct Kings

After about 5 hours of having them coming and going and my asking lots pf questions, we were pretty comfortable. They never stopped moving for a second, did a terrific job. Lots of pick up to do after the process was complete. They were friendly, informative and did their best to minimize the chaos. The only problem was with the dryer cleaning. They never re-attached the line to the dryer and I had an awful time doing that myself because my gas dryer is in a fixed position and I'm a girly girl without a lot of skills that would help me in this endeavor. Other than that, they were terrific and I would recommend them.

Service was prompt, and thorough.

The provider was unprofessional and did a horrible job. We opened the system in the days following the cleaning to find significant amounts of compacted debris inside the furnace on both sides of the filter. The filter itself was covered in dirt to the point of being clogged. This is a brand new furnace, so was the filter. Vent registers around the house were inspected, we found loose dirt and particulate accumulation on the grills themselves and on floor areas and wallboards immediately adjacent to the vents. The provider cut a circular hole on the return duct work as part of the cleaning (though they failed to inform us beforehand). A separate provider (Servepro) commented that this hole appeared unnecessarily large in diameter. We found compacted dirt and debris immediately underneath where the hole was cut, the provider failed to clean up after themselves. We also found similar dirt on floor areas around the furnace and on the basement (it looked exactly like the compacted dirt and debris found earlier), once again the provider did not clean up after themselves, nor did they remove any dirt that fell from the ductwork onto the floor. At the time of cleaning, the technician also made a claim of "finding mold" on our duct work and made an offer to "remediate the mold" at a discount price to be paid in cash. The technician mentioned that "he is not allowed to offer this service" so it would have been a transaction directly with him. This was not brought up with Keith (see below) but it seems relevant now to paint a complete picture of this service. Contact with the provider: We contacted the provider the following week (the cleaning was performed on a Friday afternoon) and started to work with Keith. I sent relevant pictures to him and he agreed to review them with the owner of the company. After emailing him a couple of times Keith replied and said that the owner had agreed to a full refund but he would like permission to send a supervisor to inspect the work. We agreed to allow a supervisor on the house to inspect the work at an 8 AM appointment. The day of the appointment we waited at the house until 8:30 AM. We attempted to contact Keith to find out what was going on but were told he arrives at 9 AM and no information was available. No one from the provider showed up or contacted us in anyway before 8:30 AM to tell us about the appointment status. Keith claims the supervisor arrived at 8:30 but somehow missed us. As a result of Duct Kings employee not showing up for our appointment, Duct Kings retracted its agreement to refund our money. We had another company (Servepro) come in to clean the vents. When Servepro opened up the furnace, the furnace and filter was again clogged. Servepro technicians did not find any evidence of mold on the ductwork. It appears that all Duct Kings did was stir up the dirt in the vents and cause it to collect in the furnace; and offer a somewhat shady "mold remediation".

We purchased the deal on 10.13. We phoned several times but were not able to speak with anyone who could actually schedule the work. We were continually told they would call us back to actually get on the calendar. In the end, we were not contact by a scheduler from Duct Kings until 10.30- over two weeks after our credit card had been charged. At that point we were told we could have the service completed in early December. Add it all up and it was an instant charge to the credit card with over a two week delay to schedule a service and a two month wait to have the service completed. I would recommend communicating that information up front to set the expectation that you will be paying 2 months in advance for work to be completed. We were ultimately so frustrated that we opted to use a different service. Fortunately our refund process was swift.

I have called twice and emailed twice and have not received a response. So, I have not been able to schedule the service for which I have ALREADY PAID.

On time, hard workers, very informative, professional, great job cleaning up afterwards.

The scheduling was easy and the company was responsive by phone. We previously had a company that came out and then was unable to clean our system because they didn't have the right equipment. Duct Kings assured me that wouldn't be a problem because they would seal all the vents and use a vacuum to remove any dust or debris. We purchased the big deal ($299) and hired them to perform the work. They arrived at the house and asked for help finding all the vents and returns. The service involved dragging a heavy machine up our stairs - leaving black marks on the steps. There was also a very dirty black handprint on our sons carpet, They indicated the system was very dirty (we knew this) and sold us an extra service (cleaning the fan for $89). We were also encouraged to have our ducts sealed as they were leaky and to purchase reusable filters for the furnace.

Came a little early. Explained the process in detail. Also found a problem in the crawl space under my family room I wasn't aware of and corrected it. Also made some suggestions about maintenance of the system.

Provider was on time and did a professional, clean job

They were good too, I would recommend them. The cost was one of the issues with them. I got the big deal and I thought that that would cover the whole house and it just covered just half the house. They said we had another system or something and when I had called I thought that I had cleared it with them about the square footage of the house so that was my only disappointment when he left. The technician didn't say anything about that and then he actually didn't have the right equipment for the basement unit. He didn't have something on his truck, something that he needed so he said that he would have to come back and reschedule it. I thought that that is fine because he had been via half the day anyway and was kind of wanting them to leave. When I called to reschedule him, they said that it would be 189 or something more and I thought that it covered the whole house and he said, ‘oh, no, it wasn't the deal’. I might have misunderstood the deal with so many terms and all that but I guess we have 2 systems and that only covered one system. The deal was good itself for the price so I give the deal an 'A' but they should be more accurate when you call them to book it to go over exactly on what you are going to be paying and that was it. I asked them when I got the big deal and no one said anything about an extra price and then he is like oh, no to come out again it is going to be this price because you have a second return and I guess that it only covered one return or something. It was a little confusing but I know that it was a good deal upfront because it is quite expensive to have all of your ducts cleaned. It wasn't very clear, they should have made it more clear about exactly what you would have paid and how many returns it covered. The quality was good. I wouldn't use them or recommend only because it was confusing and when I asked them about the price I think they should have honored it because of the deal. It wasn't said upfront how much my actual house would cost.

Overall, it was a great service for the price and a great experience!! It took longer than expected to get a hold of someone to schedule an appointment (10 days), but once I did, it went smoothly. The tech was on time and very professional. Total time was about 8 hours to complete the full air vent (supplies and returns) and dry vent cleaning both with leak test. Afterwards, tech showed me the "leftovers" (10 lbs of dust, old construction materials, toy cars, pencils, mega pet hair, protractors, and more -- all in our vents -- yuck!!). We will use Duct Kings again after each renovation we do. Hope they have another Angie's deal!

They were great. They showed up on time, were pleasant, did a good job, and cleaned up after working. The were also quiet which I appreciated since I was working from home that day.

Went well. Everything was good. They could have improved on the dirty fingerprints t (I am sure it is hard to keep hands cleans, but could have wiped off) and a few screws needed to be tightened by us.

Suffice it to say, Duct Kings did not perform any service that day, nor will I contact them again. They offered no helpful options and were not able to send a technician even later in the day. They were not particularly apologetic, despite the fact that I had taken a day off from work to meet them, and only offered to reschedule at a later date. A company that can't communicate about fulfilling its service from the get-go, does not inspire a lot of confidence.

The company was professional, efficient and cleaned up after.

They're fine. It was good. It was scheduled as soon as I wanted it. Everything was good. They did everything very well.

Duct Kings did a great job. They showed up on time, explained the process, hooked up their equipment and cleaned everything out. I couldn't be more satisfied.

I bought one of the specials that Duct Kings were offering, After reading the great reviews. The company scheduled the work promply and was easy to contact. The tech guy was a great guy, showed up on time and he did a great job protecting the work area, as I had freshly pained walls. He did a through job cleaning the vents and furnace and dryer duct. .

Everything went great and I would use them again.

It seemed like they did an okay job. The guy came in, did what he was supposed to do, and left.

With regard to price, there was a coupon. My experience was really great with the person who was there. Everything was great. Right at the end, they had to remove my dryer and they rearranged the dryer vents. When I started using it, it came off. It was very heavy for me, and I couldn’t do much. I called the company, and they said that they will call me back. I told them that I really needed to use my washer and dryer, but they never did. I liked them, but I didn’t really like that they didn’t follow through on that one. So I ended up pulling out the washer dryer myself which was very heavy. I spent almost two hours trying to fix it, but I did finally fix it. That was the bad point of it. From the service point of view, the guy was great. It was good. But I just didn’t like the final outcome of it. It could have been better; at least they could have followed up. With regard to price, I don’t know if I paid more or not.

They were okay. They were supposed to have two people here but only one person showed up. The work took longer than they thought. They did not clean up well after themselves.

Steve the technician arrived on time on the day of service, was very polite, knowledgeable and walked me through everything that he did. He even climbed behind a very narrow passage to get to the back of my dryer to clean the vents and ducts. Very professional. He even gave me some tips in maintaining my air system. Will definitely use them again.

It was fine. I paid extra for the second unit. The tech did a fine job, there are no complaints.
