Paint Perfect

Will was very responsive to my request for an estimate. He provided a quote based on if they needed to do one or two coats. His crew was on time every day and very polite. They did a great job protecting the house and cleaning up. There was a lot to repair and they did a great job on it. I'm very pleased with the end result. The only one negative was that it seemed a little challenging to nail them down to a date to start the work as I was having other work done too that couldn't happen until the paint was done. But that was just a timing thing. When they actually got in they moved very quickly and what I thought would be a four or five day job was done in three. In the end they labeled all the left over paint and left the place as clean as they could. I was very happy with the work.

Will was professional and punctual and proved a quote on the spot that was similar to 2 other quotes received. The work crew did an excellent job painting and cleaned up their mess both days. After the work was completed I noticed a few cracks in the ceiling and Will and the crew came right back and fixed them within a few days. Overall it was a great experience and I would recommend Paint Perfect to others. I plan on using them again!

Mr McCarthy arrived, promptly at the time we'd scheduled, but seemed unaware that I was looking for an exterior paint estimate. He seemed reluctant to walk around my house (to be fair, we still had quite a bit on the ground that day), but the other two companies I contacted didn't hesitate at all. I need some carpentry work on a window casing and some clapboards on the front of the house, but as soon as I mentioned services other than painting he seemed to zone out of the conversation. He did, however, give me a referral for that work, as well as a business card for that person. His proposal was prepared in his truck in my driveway and provided very little detail (in contrast to the 4 page proposal I got from one of his competitors, and a lengthy description of the proposed work from another of his competitors.) Maybe I just caught him on a bad day, or before he had his coffee, but my first impression was not good, and unfortunately, he didn't provide me with anything to change that opinion. (His estimate was the highest of the three I obtained....all Angie's List companies with equal ratings.)

Did the job just as the quote stated.

I have used Paint Perfect several times now and every time it is truly a great experience. Will runs a great company with an amazing crew and Bob does a tremendous job with the crew. They are professional, friendly and have an amazing eye for detail. They aim to please and get the job done RIGHT. Highly recommend.

Went well, would have liked a another coat in certain areas and little more advice on color selection. To be fair, their business is painting, not interior decorating. That said, when you do a lot of work with colors, I think you'd get a sense for what works best and what doesn't look good under certain factors. We would have liked a little more guidance as paint is expensive! Overall, their quality was good. They were very professional and were as accommodating as they could be to some of the specific needs of our family around scheduling. They cleaned up well when done painting, and were respectful of the areas they were working in. You supply paint (obviously) but also pay for/supply primer, and need to have it tinted and ready to go.

Will was very professional, punctual and gave us a quote on the spot (the only one to do that). First day a few guys showed up, the next a full 5 guys were here, and stayed all day long for a week. All the work done was well done, no spills, or accidents. The foreman was always communicating everything making sure we were happy with the work as they went along. After the work was done, we noticed a strange behavior of the paint (if paint has behavior) in one of our bathrooms. We contacted Will, who promptly got in touch with the foreman who brought a crew back to our house _the_next_day_ and they repainted the bathroom, no charge. Top-notch! After all the work was done, we estimated the costs of materials, and were able to come out with a bill that was within 5% of the actual total (our estimate was higher than the actual bill), so you know you can trust the quote. We're very happy with the results, and would recommend anyone in their service area to get in touch with them for work.

The owner was very thorough and listened carefully to what I wanted. His wife and business partner brought samples to me and offered helpful advice. Furthermore, the work crew cleaned up after itself every day, did an excellent job with the painting, and always consulted with me prior to advancing to the next room to make sure they had the appropriate color. Ultimately, it was a great experience, and I would highly recommend the company to others.

My experience with Paint Perfect was amazing. They were competitively priced, professional, always on time, and did a beautiful job painting the exterior of my house. I also really appreciated that they would continually keep me updated on progress, even though they were actually ahead of schedule. I would recommend them to anyone and will definitely use them again for indoor projects.

Let me start by saying that I've seen other posts comment negatively about price. As the old adage goes, 'you often get what you pay for.' While our Paint Perfect quote was considerably higher than that of other companies, we felt strongly that the additional value we were getting was worth it: (1) an incredibly knowledgeable company on all matters painting (Will, Bob, and Gil truly know their stuff); (2) best lead safe practices of anyone we talked with; (3) a 'can do' attitude; (4) top notch quality job; and (5) excellent follow-through. As Will and team can attest to, I'm very particular about things to the point that other contractors would likely have just 'forgotten' certain requests or walked away (and to be honest, I rarely find that contractors live up to my expectations)... but that's not how these folks operate. While no one is perfect (even 'Paint Perfect' ), these guys take pride in their work and followed-through on all my requests and then some (i.e., pointing out or even just fixing stuff that they recognized on their own). Sure, you can go cheaper, but you probably aren't getting the same level of quality and follow-through. Also something to be said for hiring a company that has a full time team, including benefits, versus part-time /subcontracting type situations (by the way, Will (owner) and Bob (foreman) have been working together for something like 20 years... which makes a difference, not to mention that Bob is just excellent to work with). My only real gripe would be that these guys are so popular that we had to wait a while to get on their schedule and even then our start date got a bit delayed (weather this spring/summer didn't help much either). But I have to take that as a good sign... I'd be worried if a contractor was 'immediately' available. My take is that these guys are worth the higher price if you are looking for quality and follow-through. If cost is your top concern, Paint Perfect may not be the right match... but just be clear what tradeoffs you may be making.

Price quote was double of many competitors

Will McCarthy, the owner of Paint Perfect, contacted me within a day of my call. He came out to the house, and provided me with an estimate right on the spot. This estimate proved to be exactly what I ended up paying in the end, with no "surprises" added in. My husband and I felt very comfortable with Will and appreciated the honesty about the condition of our house and what he could provide. He is very knowledgeable, easy to talk to, and answered our questions thoroughly. We set up dates for the services and his crew promptly arrived at those times. We were having two separate projects done. The first involved stripping wallpaper off an inside staircase which had very high walls, along with the upstairs hallway & ceiling. They then patched up the imperfections, and painted. The results were beautiful. The staircase looks clean, bright, and revived! The second project involved the exterior part of our home. My husband had already stained three sides of our house. The fourth side involved a very high peak (3 stories) and dangerous electrical lines. Will's crew first powerwashed, then primed, then stained this side of the house with wonderful results. Bob, Gil, Loren, and the rest of the men were friendly, professional, and also took time to answer any questions we had as their work progressed. We also asked Will some questions about other projects that my husband and I were completing around our home and he gave us valuable advice about how to do them, and what materials we should use. I couldn't be more satisfied. This was a long-neglected paint job requiring more prep work than anticipated (scraping/sanding/priming woodwork in bad shape; repairing settling cracks, etc.). They did a very thorough job, done with real care--and stuck to the original price estimate. Always on time, professional and friendly, trustworthy, responsive to special requests, brought in extra help when needed. They did a beautiful job!

Very good company. Will and Pamela are very professional and accommodating. Will gives price estimates according to how many coats of paint each room could need, and if you want the ceiling and woodwork included, etc. so you can kind of decide how much you want to spend. Wallpaper and major wall or ceiling repairs are billed at the hourly rate of $27 per worker. My situation was a bit unique in the sense that we didn't know what to expect after taking off the top layer of wallpaper, and how extensive the ceiling repair would be. I was paying three guys each the hourly rate to remove all 2 layers of wallpaper, backing paper and glue; and then scraping and repairing numerous areas of the kitchen ceiling. The hours added up quickly and I ended up spending quite a bit more than I anticipated but it's finished and they did a very thorough, nice job. I plan on using this company again for future paint projects.

Estimate was off compared to final price. Unanticipated hourly rate of subcontractor drove up price significantly but over work was excellent.

Will was extremely responsive in quoting and then setting up the job. Bob and his team were fantastic to deal with and their attention to detail is unparalleled. The house looks amazing after they were done and I'd highly recommend them.

Outstanding job, meticulous from start to finish; prompt estimate from Will, and they began the job almost immediately. Appreciated the advice and insight regarding color choices, finishes, etc, as I'm severely taste-impaired ... Bob (Job Foreman) kept me updated as to how the job was progressing, including when issues came up (as they always will!) and my options for addressing them. Every effort was made to ensure I knew what was happening, why, and that it met with my approval. Really put the finishing touch on my updated kitchen - looking forward to the next time I can use their services. Well-named company ...

The results were outstanding! Bob (foreman) with 25 years experience and his crew of 3 very capable men spent most of 7 days working on this project. They were very professional and cleaned up every day. Initially we were very impressed with Will's presentation, recommendations and original proposal. At the completion of the job we were very pleased and delighted that we had contracted with PAINT PERFECT. Perfectly done! We recommend this team for your painting needs.

These guys were great. Will was quick to respond and the quote took only about 20 minutes of my time. The quote was extensive, thorough, and accurate. In fact the quoted price was more than I actually paid which in my experience is rare, especially with contractors. There were no hidden fees or cost. As for the timeliness of his work, his crew finished ahead of schedule and the quality was superb. Lastly, there was a miscommunication (likely my fault) concerning a section of base board in the kitchen that wasn't painted. Will sent over a crew member with a paint brush right away and fixed the issue without any hassle or request for more money. I wish all contractors conducted their business in this manner. Will was very professional in his presentation, both in person and with the detailed estimate he provided. In this aspect he separated himself from the competition (we received a total of 4 quotes). His pricing was also competitive, though there was another contractor who we were also impressed with whose price was a bit lower. Neither contractor was the "low bid" but they showed to be the most responsible contractors that provided a quote. I can't say that the successful bid and Will's bid were apples to apples quotes. The scope of work was the same but the approach recommended by Will I believe was a little more detailed and likely was responsible for the slightly higher quote. That said, his quote was still competitive. I wouldn't hesitate to have Will come to our house again and provide us a quote. Based on the professionalism shown, I'd be very confident the product he provides would be very high quality at a very good price.

Great job. On time, extremely professional. Owner here for most of the time. I decided to change color of stain on Gazebo after it was partially done and Will and his guys bent over backward to comply without very reasonable added cost and no complaining. Very good company. This is not the first time I have used them.

Will came out to look at the job and followed-up immediately with a written estimate. On the first day the work began, a crew of four men arrived on time. (There were six men on day two.) All were professional and courteous and answered all of our questions. They were very meticulous in their work. When the work was completed, they put back up all of our curtains, moved all the heavy furniture back in place, and vacuumed the areas where they had worked. Although the job took only two days, on day three two men came back to do any minor touch-ups that they saw or that we requested. Overall, we were extremely pleased with their work, so will be using them again for other jobs.

This company was a delight to work with largely because they did all that you want a contractor to do. They answered the initial phone call promptly and the owner, Will, came quickly to do an estimate. The figure he gave us was a very reasonable one and he gave us a realistic time frame of when he could schedule the work. We called him back, and the project went just the way he said it would. They powerwashed the house prior to painting and returned to paint. They arrived on time, cleaned up every day, the workers were great and the job was completed on time. The only reason it cost more than the estimate was that we added to the project, otherwise it would have been exactly what he quoted in the estimate. We saw later that one very small area had been missed so we called to let them know. They came back and completed it within the week. I generally do most of my interior painting, but have a big project looming. I may very well call them back to get a price. This is a really good company.

The house looks great. I would definitely hire Paint Perfect again and would confidently recommend them to anyone.

We were concerned about the wall paper but they did a great job getting it off and prepping the wall. The repairs to a couple of holes in the garage wall were perfect. They did everything in one day and were just as great as when they did our entire upstairs in June of 2012. I would recommend them to anyone.
