I went it to "look" at a washer, chatted with Mike, liked his style. Walked out the door and thought for a moment, turned aroudn and bought a set. Not looked back. Followup was great too. Highly recommend.

Hunter does not stand by it's appliances or communicate. We bought an expensive LG refrigerator a few years ago. Stopped working. Turns out it was a faulty compressor...a common enough problem that there was a class action suit, and Hunters had replaced 100's of these in the past few years. When I called, I was told a repair person would come out --for a $199 diagnostic fee. He arrived, did a great job assessing that indeed the compressor needed replacing. "We will order the part and someone will be here in approximately 7-10 days to replace it." 1-I was not told that the person coming would not be fixing it. 2-Why would Hunters not have the part needed if they continually get these calls on refrigerators that they sold to customers? 3- LG came the next day and fixed it all for free 4- Reluctantly, I did call to pay Hunters their $199 fee and left a message asking for the manager to call me so I could recommend that they carry parts, tell customers that diagnostic doesn't mean fixing... He/she never called.

Great- thought I had a problem with microwave- they sent a service man same day as install, and he explained everything to me. Very responsive! They kept me updated regularly from the purchase to the delivery to the service call. Very professional and I would definitely buy from them again!

It made a huge difference immediately. The gentleman was very courteous and knowledgeable. This is our 3rd time in 15 years hiring a Hunter Appliances repair person for different problems with different appliances with always good results. We will keep on calling them when needed.
Description of Work: Our 10 year-old oven had a hard time coming to temperature. Hunter Appliances repairman diagnosed the stove needed a new glow-bar and he replaced it right away, as he had one in his truck.

Came home and found the refrigerator/freezer warming up. Not good - especially as it was Friday evening. I left a message at Hunter, where I bought many of appliances over the years, though not this one. Short story: They called back the next morning, Saturday, and came before noon. The problem was diagnosed right away (broken defrost timer). They had the part in their truck, and fixed things pronto. Did I mention the fridge is 31 years old? It's amazing they had the part at all, never mind with them. A++ for Hunter!

They have an excellent repair team. They service anything that's bought any place else. I had a refrigerator that I got from another company and it was under warranty so I ordered the part through that other company. They're very honest. They're a great company to work with. They actually didn't charge anything because they told me it was covered by warranty so they didn't even charge me for the service call coming out. They gave me a better deal than what was advertised.

Called Hunter Appliances today, New Years Eve, got an appointment for service for friday, called them back and explained I was hosting family for New Years and, if they got a slot, could they fit me in. Service man called two hours later, diagnosed and fixed the issue, and he was on his way, I have used Hunter Appliances in the past, bought my dishwasher from them, they have serviced other appliances for me, always with courtesy and on time service, I would recommend them and use them again,

We have a DCS kitchen gas range. It has six burners and four of them were not functioning properly. I found Hunter Appliances on Angies List, and they had good reviews (and were close to my house). The technician, Derek, first came on 7/9 and cleaned out the burners and got them all working. After about two weeks, one burner started acting up again. They guarantee repairs for 30 days, so Derek came again on 7/28 and fixed that burner, for no charge. Overall I found the company, and Derek in particular, very professional and helpful. I would certainly use them again.

The service itself went quickly and smoothly, in a short period of time (less than 2 hours), the repair person fixed both appliances. I had been told that the price was $159.00 for the service plus the cost of any parts. When the service was completed, I was presented a bill for $265.00 and was told the additional was for the additional appliance (Microwave). While that was not specified when I called to schedule the service, and despite the cost, I found that to be reasonable, that there would be additional cost. The week following, the display on the microwave went out again, shortly after having it repaired by Hunter. I also received another bill in the mail for an additional $65.00 which I did not pay. I contacted Hunter Appliance and they advised that the additional cost for the second appliance should have been $40.00 on top of the $159.00 for a total of $199.00 and that they would need to look into both that cost and the additional bill for $65.00. They also indicate that their repair work was under warranty for 30 days from service and asked if I would like to have repair person sent out to resolve the recurrence of the microwave issue. I thanked them for that information and told them to schedule a time to have the repair person come out to fix the microwave. Since that call, approximately 2 weeks ago, I have not heard from Hunter Appliance. They have never followed up on the billing irregularities, nor have they scheduled time or contacted me to schedule time for a repair person to fix the microwave. The repair person was prompt, polite and professional and clearly demonstrated that he knew what he was doing with the repairs. Regarding the microwave, he firmly re-connected the physical components and felt that is what was needed. It seems he was incorrect in that regard, but the approach he took was one which he felt would minimize cost to me and would resolve the issue without replacing parts. The work done on the dishwasher was solid and we have had no issues, but the overall lack of response from the management at Hunter Appliance has been disappointing.
Description of Work: I contacted Hunter appliance to repair a leak in my dishwasher and a fading display on my microwave. The dishwasher required a new motor, which was under warranty and Hunter addressed that effectively by processing the warranty with the manufacturer. The microwave did not require replacement parts.

I would like to commend the service provided by Hunter Appliance in sending Percy to repair our oven and ice-maker. He is an appliance genius! He was prompt and courteous, and moments after he arrived, he had expertly diagnosed the problems in both appliances. The oven's replacement part would have cost hundreds if still available, but is no longer manufactured. However, Percy didn't need a replacement. He took the broken part apart and worked his miracle for only a couple dollars in parts. He also fixed the seal problem simply by adjusting the hinges. My oven now works just like new. Then he melted something in the ice-maker and it now makes ice. He ordered a part to prevent the problem from happening again. They are fortunate to have Percy working for them and I hope they don't ever lose him. From now on Hunter Appliance will be the only business we call for repairs.
Description of Work: Fixed 10 year old DCS double wall oven display not working and leaking heat. Fixed Kenmore Coldspot side-by-side refrigerator ice-maker not making ice.

I shopped around looking for anyone that had a 27" in stock. No one did. The sales staff at Hunter showed me wider model and said it was functionally the same as the smaller. I brought the information home and did my research on the unit and the price. They were within $50 from the best internet price. But they offered installation and that was enough of a differentiation for me to bite. The install cost required their installer to inspect the site. He did, and he arrived at a very fair price. The oven was ordered and delivered right on time. The installation went so well. The installer went above and beyond and did the little things that make a difference. At the end, i wanted to tip him $50, but he said give it to Hunter - which i did. We have had the oven for a few days, and it runs great. I got a great price, great installation and enjoyed the experience enough to say that we will definitely go back to Hunter for our next appliance. Everything they claimed during the sales process was accurate. If this is were retail is heading, i think it will survive the internet.

Percy the repair man who came to our home is the sherlock holmes of repairing. Percy troubleshoots real time, and diagnoses all the problems to find the REAL root cause. It is quite amazing to see. He tried to figure out what the real issue is with the range (unlike previous guy who just wanted to replace the seal). Percy took out a piece of paper put it in the range, closed the door, tugged on the paper ... and said the seal is fine. He then turned the stove to broil becaue he knew our model had a built in fan to keep the internal boards cool when the broiler turns on. Low and behold the range made a fan blowwing sound. His diagnosis ... which made complete sense .... is the thermostat on the internal board is fried and isn't triggering the cooling fan. The fan should trigger whenever the over heat radiates up through the stove. He showed me the vents they designed into the door and stove frame and how the air is supposed to circulate and told me the parts he needs to order. Regarding the dishwasher I showed him how the latch wasn't staying latched. He took a look at it,checked the latch and agreed the problem is elsewhere. He pointed to a spot on the side of the dishwasher that had a dent from when the factory assembled the panel. He explained the hinge is mounted in this spot and lost its alignment. He realigned the dishwasher door on site and agreed to order a new panel to repair the dent. We left our appointment feeling 100% confident this range and dishwasher will be fixed. I'll update this review with final results. If you're in the Boston area, don't waste your time with another service company. Hunter appliance is the real deal.
Description of Work: Called on a Saturday to schedule a time to repair a brand new Electrolux Icon dishwasher & range. The dishwasher door wouldn't stay latched and the range front panel was getting super hot & making weird noises. Nick, the service manager is competent and asks all the right questions to prep his staff and bring parts to fix problems on the first visit. We scheduled an appointment for Monday, that was fast! Nick called back the next day and had a few more questions about parts they could bring. FYI ... this is under warranty and the previous repair company I used, delayed for one month to finally show up and were unable to fix anything they tried instaling a new latch in the dishwasher and were incompetent with diagnosing the range. So, this was a phenomenal first experience with Hunter Service and it was just the scheduling phone call.

We were contacted by the scheduling service after leaving a message. This was the typical - the rep will be there between 8 and noon type of conversation. The Hunter rep arrived within the scheduled time and quickly diagnosed the problem (after working with my wife to understand our not so straight forward electrical breaker box). He provided us with options on parts - delaying the fix while parts were ordered (OEM) or fixing the problem on the spot with a part that he knew would work. We chose the later and our appliance was repaired in a single visit in a very short amount of time. We like the fact that the Hunter rep was knowlegable about the equipment to suggest options - in turn saving us some time in the long run (if we had to wait for a second visit). We were very satisfied with the Hunter rep and appreciate the common sense applied to providing repair options.

Their service is the best. If something goes wrong, they come out the same or next day. If you order something you don't have to wait forever. The service person is very knowledgeable and explains exactly what's wrong and what it's going to cost. There is no guesswork. They work with you and are good that way. The quality is very good and their stuff lasts.

Good selection of high-end appliances. We chose Bosch. Very helpful showroom staff. Great delivery & installation. We had a problem with the range - it would not fit into the counter-top - but the installer was very creative in trying to get it to work, Eventually we had to switch models and that was done easily and quickly.

I found this invoice among my deceased aunt's papers, and was appalled! My aunt, who at the time was one month shy of her 93rd birthday, physically disabled, and chronically mechanically inept, apparently was unable to close her refrigerator door, so she called Hunter, whose services she had used in the past. I'm sure these are the company's standard rates for service, but come on! couldn't they have shown a little compassion and common sense, rather than taking advantage of an elderly infirm person? Granted my aunt lived in an affluent town, but she lived in a small house that she purchased at 1977 rates, when she was working. She subsisted on Social Security and a small rental income from a one-room cottage on her property. In other words, she was obviously not affluent. I don't expect satisfaction now, since my aunt died this past March, and I agree that a nominal serice charge would have been appropriate, but not $111.50 to push in a shelf!
Description of Work: I found the invoice among my deceased aunt's papers, and was appalled. The invoice states "found the bottom shelf blocking door from closing." Apparently the service person pushed the shelf back into place, closed the door, and charged my aunt $22.50 for "technical services," and $89.00 for the service call.

I like what they do. I am a repeat customer. We had a stove that needed a lot of attention often. They were really good about it and they also worked on other appliances. They do a great job. I bought several appliances from there and I have been very happy with their service. They were good and honest. Their price was superb. We have also used their repair service on an old stove. The stove was so bad. When the stove from the oven was on, the only way I could open the door was to take off the hinges. So we got rid of it. I have not had a bad experience and I have used them a few times. I have purchased my appliances there but I have nothing negative to say at this point.

Over the course of several humid days, i noticed that the refrigerator section was too warm and would not respond to lower temp settings. On Sat morning I finally concluded that a pro was needed and called a highly-rated local appliance repair company that I have used in the past and was told that the earliest they could get there was the following Wed afternoon! I had seen Hunter ads for years so I decided to give them a try. I called about 10 am and was told that they could get a technician to my house between 1 and 4 that day, which would have been fine under normal circumstances, but I asked if they could get someone there in the early part of the afternoon to accommodate some other plans. While they could not commit over the phone, at about 1:15 the technician called ahead and asked if he could come right over. It took him about 2 hours to diagnose and correct the problem, which was an iced up coil in the freezer section. It about 2 hours to disassemble, thaw, and reassemble. I'm an engineer by training and I was particularly pleased to see that the technician took a lot of time and care in checking the defrost components (which were all fine) and in aligning/checking the freezer door, which is the most likely root case of the problem. Fridge now working fine. Overall I was very pleased and will put Hunter on my "speed dial" for future appliance repair, and will definitely check them out for future appliance purchases
