Office was quite responsive in setting up both the estimate and the work itself. Although the electrician and his assistant were a bit late the day of the work, they did a very nice job. They had helpful suggestions and did the work efficiently and unobtrusively while we were working from home that day. Would call them again if we need additional electrical work.

Harland Electric installed 3 smoke/CO detectors in May 2015 along with running a cable. I wrote a very positive review for this work then, which was excellent. Now, in the past couple of weeks my smoke detectors would go off for no good reason. There was NO fire. I cleaned them thinking this was the issue, but that did not correct the problem. The problem got worst, and starting going off every 15 minutes. I then called Harland and reported the problem. Andy the tech called back in less then 5 minutes and talked me through how to determine which detector was defective. It just so happen that the alarms were going off while on the phone. Together I was able to locate and remove the defective detector. All was quiet. A day later Andy came by to replace the defective detector at no charge. It's good to know that not only does Harland perform great work, but stands behind there work with Excellent Service. It's refreshing to know there are contractors available that really take there service seriously. Harland is one of them !!

Hired them to install recessed lighting in kitchen and family room. They began on time and started project. After cutting holes in ceiling and disconnecting existing lights they disappeared for several days. When I called they had nothing on their schedule to return. They agreed to "fit me in" and came back to finish the job. It is hard to know the quality of the work behind the walls and ceiling but I can say that they work you can see is poor at best. Unprofessional

From the very beginning Harland Electric was great. From the first phone call, the owner coming out to do an estimate and the serviceman.. Even gave suggestions about how to save money - he said when I asked him about upgrading from 100 amps to 200 amps he told me what I had in the house was more than sufficient. Very honest. When the serviceman came to do the actual job he was great. He had to leave at one point to get another part and was very apologetic in having to leave. Left everything the way he found it - totally cleaned up the site he worked at. I will definitely use him again and have already recommended him to other people.

I have used Harland electric for various small but nagging repairs, like blown switches/plugs, replacing and installing fixtures, and most recently figuring out my crazy under cabinet light issues. No matter who comes, they are quick efficient and always explain my options, so I know what I am spending. They always make time on their schedule for me even for small stuff - that probably are easy fixes, but when you don't know what you are doing, is always smart and safe to have an electrician. I will always call Harland first when I have a small or large job. They are great.

BAD COMMUNICATION BETWEEN OFFICE AND ELECTRICIAN REQUIRED 2ND TRIP, LIST OF WORK NOT RECEIVED FROM THEIR OFFICE

Estimate was quick and straightforward. Two electricians (one an apprentice/in training) did the work. They were professional and did a nice job on all the work. They asked questions to ensure everything was done the way I wanted. Overall, a positive experience.

They were prompt in their reply for an estimate. Showed up on time on the planned day for work and can't mpleted it on time. Very professional, thorough, and cleaned up on completion. I would highly recommend them.

Went very well! I Spoke with the very polite, young electrician afterwards about a bigger job that I had coming up - replacing my lamp post and some outside sconces. I Wasnt sure if an electrician actually does the physical ( cement and all) install of the lamp post. He explained it very well and said they do and to give them a call once I get the post. So I diid. I must have called and e- mailed at least 6 times but no one ever returned my calls, even to say that they were booked up! So I told all my friends that they must have, unfortunately , gone out of business. But then I saw a truck of theirs at a gas station the other day. My MAJOR pet peeve is when businesses dont call you back or, even worse, if you take the day off from work for them, and they don't show up. I don't get it! I hired another electrician and he did a nice job.

This really was one of the best experiences we have had with a service provider. Harland Electric responded quickly and professionally each time we contacted them. Andy came out and did an assessment of the job and provided sort of a "worst case scenario" quote which we appreciated - we felt that we would not be blind sided by additional costs should they arise. Lee and Bill showed up promptly the day we scheduled the job. They were polite and professional. They worked well and cleaned up nicely. Things turned out very well indeed and we intend to hire Harland Electric again within a few months for some more work we'd like done at our home.

I had called two other electricians before I found Harland Electric here on Angie's. The first two did not seem at all interested in this small job. But Harland -- WOW! I immediately felt I was in good hands with how the person answering my phone call treated me. And when the electricians came today to do the work, they too were awesome -- knowledgeable, professional, friendly, etc. What I appreciated was being told up front (initial phone call) what their rates were, so no surprises in the end. We will definitely be using Harland's services again.

Bill came out to look at the job and provided a price at that time. I had already received other quotes, and they were the lowest and what I thought to be fair. I informed Bill at that time that he had the job. He said he would contact me in a day or so, and provide me with the time and date they could do it. He called the next day with this information and set up a date about a week out. Lee showed up with his helper, on time and performed and completed the work in about 2 hrs. They were personable and professional. Cleaned up in the BR where they installed the cable. They also checked my breaker box to insure it was in good condition. The final bill was what was quoted, no surprises. This was not a big job, but they did exactly what the said they would. A pleasure to do business with. Would definitely use them again, and would not bother with getting other quotes.

It was a very pleasant experience dealing with this company. They were professional, delivered what they promised, and have a very helpful office person. Certainly would do busiiness with them again and would recommend them to anyone in the Westford, MA area.

Update: Mr. Harland and I spoke and we worked out our misunderstanding. He was very professional on the phone and polite. He went to great effort to help us out. I would definitely recommend him. He talked through the itemized bill with us and explained the permit issue. Additionally, he refunded us part of the bill for the travel time related to obtaining parts. Mr Harlland, I apologize for the late response. My fiance and I were out of town the last couple weeks.

As usual, everything was smooth. I have used them many times for updates, complete service panel replacements and repairs to previous poor work by other "professionals" before we owned the house. Always a pleasure to work with and I trust them in our home when we are not there. I have known and done business with the Harland family for over 20 years and it has never been anything but a pleasure.

Excellent job, very professional and neat installation. Corrected existing problems in the main panel at no charge. Explained everything and delivered as promised.

Corresponding with the company to setup the job was easy. Responses were received same day and in some cases within hours. We went over the details of the job thoroughly. The gentleman who discussed the details with me was helpful, providing options to consider. We had the job scheduled on the same day I called. The work was first rate. Lee performed all of the required work diligently. The job took longer than was originally discussed but the cost was exactly within the range quoted to me. All the fans work great. The fixture that was removed looks excellent. The floods are in place and functioning. The only disappointing factor was that the motion detectors were not quite calibrated for their location. They are triggered often and only stay on for about 2 seconds. So, we cannot use the motion-activated mode at the moment. This is more of a personal preference kind of thing, however. Besides, I could not reasonably expect a single electrician to be able to test and adjust the detection zones, especially when adjustments had to be made on the fixture and tested on the ground. This probably would have taken a long time and been a waste of time for him and a waste of money for me. I will have to tune them myself, which is fine by me. All-in-all, I am very happy with the job that was done. I have a few more projects in mind which I hope to bring to Harland as well.

Arrived on time with a replacement electric baseboard unit and installed it. The new unit was slightly longer than the unit that had failed, but he was able to quickly cut the baseboard trim to accommodate the slightly longer unit.

It was a pleasure doing business with Harland Electric. They arrived on time, were courteous, and did a great job with the project. The billing process was very easy and the team was very nice and professional. We are so happy with their work that we are going to book with them in the near future to complete another project.

Bill came in and looked at the electrical panel. He quickly figured out the problem with the braker (connected to the hot water heater). He fixed it for us. He then took a look at the hot water tank an immediately pointed out the ungrounded wire and fixed it. He charged me only $50 for that, his usual charges being $100/hr. I'm glad he came and resolved the problem quickly.

They are very good, and quick. Overall, they have an A, and I will use them in the future.

M.E. and apprentice were in a hurry to get to their next job. Did not complete the work as requested and went over quote by $300. They were called back to rewire a portion of the job in order to correct loss of power to the living room wall outlets.
