Description of Work: We used SaveATree on a an Angie's List promotion of $140 for $300 of tree work. First of all they told us their minimum amount of work was $400 so the promotion was a bait and switch. We opted to do $800-$1100 of work including the promotion. It was a long time between the quote and the work, and when finally done, the work crew was not properly instructed as to the extend of the work agreed and the estimator barely remembered the agreed details. While the price was fixed we were lucky that we received the work we had quoted. And that only happened because I remembered the details and made a fuss. When they agreed to do the work they did a good job. But the experience didn't leave us with an altogether good feeling.

Description of Work: They "forgot" to trim an entire hedge, which was a huge part of the job that they were hired to do and never came back to do it (but charged the full proce as if they had). I stupidly re-hired them a couple of years later and when I met with the arborist, he said the job would take five days and that he (the arborist) would be on site each day. The crew showed up for one day, had no idea what they were supposed to do, and there was no arborist. They never came back to complete the job. They left a huge mess in the yard of branches and never returned to clean them up. I would never hire them again.

Description of Work: I purchased a deal from Angie's List knowing the tree work would cost more than the coupon covered. The cost was much more than I anticipated, but our yard is heavily wooded and the trees needed trimming badly. Now that all of the trees have leafed out, I can see dead wood on one tree that was missed -- to be expected, I suppose, when trimming is done in the dead of winter. I have used the services of this company and Matt Gula for years. He is always prompt, courteous, and responsive, and so I will continue to use SaveATree for our tree maintenance.

Description of Work: An arborist came to assess things -- he was very helpful, knowledgeable, etc. 5 weeks later, people came to remove some large dead tree limbs. They were prompt, efficient, cleaned up after themselves. The only negative is that it took more than a month to have the work done and I was not informed that there would be this kind of a delay. There was no particular urgency and I understand the causes -- busy time of year, major storm damage created a burst of work, etc. But it would have been nice if they'd told me upfront that it would take weeks before the work would be done. The price seemed reasonable but I did not get any quotes from other businesses.

Description of Work: Removed branches from tall trees that were overhanging the house and advised us to remove branches from a cherry tree (neighbors) that was overhanging our driveway. We were on a tight schedule and they were very accommodating in scheduling and timely on our appointment date. Job was well done and quick. Neighbors subsequently decided to hire them for some of their own tree work as well.

Description of Work: I bought the big deal and had to pitch in and extra $100. |Not a problem as I had quite a bit of work to be done. Jeff came right out and we went over the work to be done. We scheduled it and the crew came out on time and did a good job. I would hire them again.

Description of Work: We contracted for the work in response to a special offer last fall. They came out and discussed the work we needed done, gave us a price, collected a deposit and left...for about 5 months. It was a terrible winter, but we felt the need to call occasionally and make sure we were still on their schedule; they did not initiate the follow-ups. When they did eventually call to schedule us, they showed up in full force on time as scheduled. Three men worked about 7 hours (3 x 7 = 21 total work hours) for the work we contracted. I have no idea how this price compares with others (but it seemed expensive to me.) The work was efficient, and the clean-up afterwards excellent.
