I bought an Angie's list Big Deal. Alton called within a week or so to set up a time to meet and go over the work we needed done. He e-mailed the detailed estimate. There would be additional cost because of the amount of work involved. After I approved it, he estimated it would be a couple of weeks to get to the job. That was fine, we were in no rush. A date and time were set up by phone a couple of weeks later. The workers showed up on time, went over the job with me, and carried out everything that was discussed. They removed all brush and cleaned up after themselves. They were pleasant and did a nice job.

We had used them once before to feed trees damaged by insects, and they did a fine job. Hired them to cut down some trees that were leaning and to trim branches from storm-damaged standing trees. Logs were to be cut up stove-sized and stacked where they fell. They did the work when we were not home. When we got back, we were disappointed. The trimming was fine. But two trees that had been leaning were not finished. Stumps were left 4 or 5 feet high, not down to the ground. Wood was not stacked, but strewn. And there were more than 6 pieces of thick logs that were left from 6 to 10 feet long rather than cut to stove length. I immediately called and emailed the guy I was dealing with, Alden Cole. He said he would come and look and let me know his assessment. To my knowledge he never showed up. I finally paid $400 out of the $570 bill. I have called and talked to the office. I have left phone messages. I have written emails. No response, no completion of the work, and no word about work they have promised to do this fall. Pretty disappointing, and not the kind of service I had expected.

From beginning to end the service went quite well. The gentlemen were knowledgeable and polite. A couple of men came earlier in the summer and evaluated the job and made suggestions. They mentioned that it would be better if I waited till August or September when there would be less growth so the job was done today 9/23/2013. I was supposed to meet the workers at the property at 12:00. I arrived by 11:50 to find out that they had already started. My only surprise was when I arrived they told me they'd be breaking for lunch so I went off to do an errand and they continued with their work going on 12:30. I stayed nearby and communicated with them as to what I liked. Suggestions were also offered to me which I appreciated! They cleaned the yard up well as well as cleaning up the droppings which fell in the yard next door. The job was completed going on 1:30.

Angie's deal was $157 for $300 worth of services. Estimator came, reviewed basic work needed and bid $2,200. This is way more than we want to pay at this time.

The response was excellent, quick, courteous and professional. The only reason I didn't rate them higher is because I didn't see them do the work. About a week after the bid was accepted, they showed up at the house--they had a few hours between other jobs. They did a nice job, the tree was not easy to get to, and the cleanup was greet- I noticed some wood chips on the shed roof before I realized the tree was gone! I'm happy with the job, I wish I could have seen the production. Kathleen

Alton showed up on time and spoke about what would be done.... he was able to answer all our questions and was able to provide a quote for all the work to be done.. Once we decided the quote was acceptable, we scheduled a day and time for the work to be done.... The crew showed up on time, and they did GREAT work.... lots greatn and they cleaned up all brush and removed all limbs.. I would definitely use them again in the future

They have treated our lawn for nutsedge, our trees for winter moth, aerated our lawn, and various other services. Their advisors are generally knowledgable and their service people are professional and easy to do business with. I'll use them again.

It was great. They did a really excellent job. I was really happy with their work. I felt like it was kind of expensive, it seems to me like it was a little too expensive but I didn't try to bargain with them on anything.

They were on time, and professional.

I have used SavATree before. They fertilized and pruned some of my trees (magnolias, dogwood, crabapples, Japanese maple). Some of my trees had suffered severe damage in recent storms. The fertilizing and pruning worked out great. They are almost back to where they started, and look full and healthy again.

Jim made an initial appointment to discuss the work I needed and went to each tree to explain what his crew would do when trimming or removing the branches. He wrote up a detailed list of the work in his quote so we were both clear. He scheduled the work within one week and arrived in advance of his crew and walked around the yard to mark the trees. I requested removal of one additional tree limb and Jim agreed and added this to the job for a very reasonable price. A couple of trees belonged to my neighbor and Jim offered to introduce himself and explain the work to the neighbors. I was not at home while the work was completed but when I did get home, the tree limbs were gone and the yard was cleaned up. I was very satisfied with the work.

I purhcased a big deal from them. They did not show up on the date of the appointment and they were very overpriced.

It went well and pretty smoothly. We had a bit of a difficulty with availability and when we could be here for it. But we worked it out. They were great. The deal was helpful for us to save some money and they were doing great work. We paid more than what the deal was for.

I met with them once for a consult, agreed on what needed to be done, scheduled a time and they did the work. No hassle, and I'm satisfied with the result

The company was responsive, arrived on time and handled the job exactly as expected with no complications.

Scope of work agreed upon and costed by arborist in advance so it was clear to me what I was getting and what it would cost. There were no surprises. Work was done when scheduled and completed very professionally. There was no collateral damage. Site cleanup was as good as it gets. All in all, a highly professional - even if a bit pricey - operation.

From my initial call to ask questions, to purchasing the coupon, to completion I could not be more pleased. The arborist came to meet with myself and my neighbor to look over and discuss what we each wanted completed. We both purchased coupons and were told we would be contacted within two weeks to schedule time to have the work done. Ultimately, I did have to call when 2+ weeks had passed. Whether this was due to added interest from the coupon, I don't know. I received a call a few hours later to schedule our appointments. Obviously, this in no way takes away from my positive experience with SavATree. The workers and arborist arrived as scheduled. We walked around, confirming the work to be completed. They checked with me if needed, asked me to check the work they did, and removed all debris. I would recommend SavATree and will use them in the future.

The provider was on time, polite and knowledgable. However, the price was higher than other estimates from quality providers. making my "deal" not really a good deal at all.

Their work is very impressive. They did a very nice job trimming the yews and cutting dead branches off of the trees. The employees worked steadily and completely cleaned up everything.

My experience was excellent, from the setting of the appointment to when the showed up to do the work. They were just a wonderful company. Their personnel went beyond just trying to keep a consumer happy. They exceeded my expectations.

They listened carefully, and did a careful, professional job.

An expert arborist came to evaluate the work and give me an estimate. This work is pricey but it is important to have trees and shrubs treated by people who know a lot about them. I was able to use an Angie's list Big Deal coupon to help with the costs. The crew who came were pleasant and efficient. They also did a great job cleaning up.

I was unable to use the big deal due to the estimate coming back higher than I was prepared to pay. They were very professional and polite.
