Bransfield visited our site promptly and e-mailed a comprehensive analysis of our trees the following day. They correctly identified the trees we were concerned about, sent us photos with circles and arrows to show exactly what they proposed to do. Their proposal was very competitive, and the most thorough we received. We were able to schedule the work and they showed up right on time. The work was exceptional! Not only did they do everything we had agreed to, but they also took care to remove a lot of dead branches from other trees of ours - at no further expense. They were very respectful of our property, careful of the lawn, and cleaned up beautifully when they were done. We can enthusistically recommend this company and their well-trained, careful and cheerful crew! Delightful people to watch as they go about this dangerous and important work!

I’m happy to give Bransfield Tree Company 5 stars! Bransfield was the third company to give me an estimate on pruning and removing some trees. The owner, Jonathan Bransfield, was by far the most thorough of the three in assessing the job -- taking photos of each area, explaining to me what he would do AND asking me what I wanted (he made note of privacy preferences regarding a large rhododendron near a window, etc). His estimate of cost was very reasonable and he emailed me his task-by-task estimate, including photos of each job so I knew he knew exactly what I wanted. The crew arrived when they said they would and were perfectly knowledgeable as to exactly everything that had to be one. They were very pleasant and informative, and asked me mid-way through if there was anything else I could think of that I wanted done. They cleaned up all the branches and wood chips so well that no one would be able to tell they’d been here (except everything looked much nicer!). I will definitely use them again.

I am, quite frankly, not thrilled to be writing this review, and to that end, I have given this company every opportunity to get their act together over the course of three months. Alas, that did not pan out, and I believe it's time to share my experience. Based on other reviews and on work performed at my neighbor's home, I have little doubt about Bransfield's expertise. However, trying to get a proposal for some work that's right up their alley has been like pulling teeth, and their unresponsiveness/unprofessionalism (again, over the course of 3 months) has been jaw-dropping. It all began with a pleasant phone call with Mr. Bransfield himself (in October 2016), in which we agreed that I'd follow up via email (which I did). However, the next day, I happened to see some members of his team working next-door. I spoke with them briefly, and when they finished, they came over and took relevant photos and notes at my property. They were actually very nice, listened very carefully to everything I was asking and stated that I would hear from Mr. Bransfield in short order. To this day (January 2017), that has not happened. I have left countless voicemails and sent even more emails (to the owner and the business' address) to no avail. NOT ONCE has anyone called me back or replied to an email. As part of my six or seven phone calls, I did manage to speak with a nice woman (Sarah) at the office a couple times (typically calls go to voicemail). Every time, there has been an explanation/excuse for the unresponsiveness (e.g. we've been moving), accompanied by an apology. I am a reasonable person, and earlier on in the process, I could certainly understand the nature of the delays, etc. After months of this nonsense, however, it's a different story. I wrote my last email to Sarah back in December, simply asking whether they would ultimately be able to provide a proposal or were unable to (or uninterested). That email also went unresponded to. Before writing this review, I decided to give them a final chance and call (yet again), about two weeks after my email. I spoke with Sarah again, who said she had forwarded my email to the owner, and that it was in his hands. After I pressed a it, she said she would check-in with the owner and call me the next day when she saw him at the office. That was a week ago, and not surprisingly, I never got a call back. It does not matter how good you are at your trade. Beyond the obvious lack of professionalism, it is a waste of everyone's time and, frankly, disrespectful and very inconsiderate for this company to continue to drag along an exchange of this sort when there clearly is little intention of following up on commitments. This is bad enough on its own, but when combined with the fact that I was referred by a repeat customer, it is particularly baffling that any businessperson would appear to care so little. I guess business must be very good...

They were great. Prompt, efficient and friendly. They also explained what to look for so I will know when to call them next time.

I have used Bransfield for several years and the quality of work and professionalism is excellent. Sometimes when they get very busy they do not return phone calls or emails as quickly as I would like.

I have been so impressed with Bransfield's work. They seem to be the only company around that has the horticultural knowledge to support their work. They know how to trim shrubs and trees in a way They work hard and get the job done in a timely manner. I wouldn't trust my trees and shrubs to anyone else.

Superb!!! With six very tall Sugar and Maple trees that have been in the yard for over 50 years, understandably branches and even large diameter limbs had begun to die off and fall. This was an ongoing problem, especially after wind storms, putting at risk cars parked in the driveway, as well as potential damage in falling onto the garage. In calling Bransfield Tree Company, Jonathan Bransfield was fast to respond, assess the situation, and make excellent recommendations. His expertise was readily apparent as he was quick to identify unique trees, as well as various bushes in the yard, rather than simply cut the trees down as I had thought would be necessary, he pointed out practical solutions to prune deadwood, clear limbs from power lines, and attach a cable between two of the tallest trees to strengthen and stabilize them. His crew was very polite and professional; their equipment impressive; their yard cleanup very thorough. Not only did Bransfield Tree Company save the beauty of the trees and provide safety for years to come, their cost in doing the work was outstanding and more than reasonable. It truly was a pleasure doing business with Bransfield Tree Company and I would highly recommend them and definitely will use them again when needed.

I had met the technician while out shopping. He was very knowledgeable and helpful and I hired him for the work. They were really great. They are very professional and nice. It was a good experience!

They keep in touch with good communication. He sends out newsletters and follows up postcards. They even offer a discounted rate if you pay ahead of time. I have been using their services for over five years. They have been excellent and I have never had any problems.

They are perfectly adequate. Their price is very comparable. We have asked them to give us an estimate on something but they have yet to get with us back yet. It can be hard to get in contact with them. However, they complete all of the work that we have contracted them for. We haven’t had any significant problems.

Initially, they were recommended to me by a tree company. I have been using them for almost four years now. They offer an early spring package so that you can get a discount if you sign up earlier in the ear. They costs are reasonable they don’t overcharge you. They even offer alternative ideas on what you can do. If you see a problem, they clearly explain everything to you. Jonathan Bransfield is the owner and he only hires very knowledgeable people for his team. They were personable and go above and beyond. They are great company.

We have used Bransfield for fifteen years. They saved a hemlock that had Wooly Adelgid disease. Our shrubs and trees are always healthy and beautiful.

They are very helpful. Very busy, but they make time for us. I really respect their knowledge of trees. They know whar they're talking about.

Bransfield is great to work with. They are willing to provide answers to questions in a down to earth, straightforward manner. I feel like I understand my options. Pricing is also reasonable.

Mr Bransfield was very thorough and thoughtful, and made a very pleasant and professional impression on us. When it came to the actual estimate, however, we never heard from the company again, despite our repeated email requests. In the end we gave up, which was a pity, because he seemed like a good and trustworthy arborist.

I won't use any other arborist. Jonathan emailed me his quote which included a satelite picture of my property and marked locations for all trees being pruned/removed. Jonathan provides fair, honest pricing, and his love and expertise of arborism is hard to match. I refer him to all my friends and family and we will be using Bransfield tree for all our arbor needs.

My experience with Bransfield Tree has been very strange. I hired them initially to spray our lawn for ticks, of which they did an excellent job. The price was $175 initially, and then $125 for two more applications. They were on time and did great work. After that, I called the office to get a quote for some tree work, as I have some trees that are sick and needed attention. I left a message on their answering machine, waited three weeks, and never got a call back. I then emailed them, and again never got a return email or call. Giving them the benefit of the doubt ("Maybe they never received my messages...?") I called the office one last time and left a message, and again never received a return call. By this time I am frustrated because I am a current client, I want to give them some money to perform a job, and they don't have the decency to return any of my messages. I then get an invoice in the mail for the tick spraying. I notice that there may be a mistake on the bill (which I am not upset about, as any company can make a small error on the bill). But I know that they will not return any of my calls or emails to sort this out, so why try? So I take the time to write them a letter stating that I am not going to pay the invoice until I get someone to call me back to discuss it. In the letter I also state, in a professional manner, how I feel about their lack of resppnse, and that I am an unhappy customer. Wouldn't you think that a professional company would respond to an unhappy client to clear up the mess? Nope. I stil have not heard from them (it's been months), and probably never will.They have not sent me a follow-up invoice. So the bottom line is that when they show up they do great work; it's getting them to respond that's the problem.

I was referred to Jonathan Bransfield by my neighbor, who had used him for tree care and pruning. Jon was very responsive and returned calls and e-mails promptly. He was able to do the work on short notice. He is fully insured with general liability and workers' compensation insurance, unlike some of the tree removal guys I talked to. Also, he is a certified arborist and is very knowledgable about trees.

Couldn't have been better. Jonathan Bransfield is a true arborist. He knows trees, how to protect and care for them. He has personally been present for every quote and every job they have done for us. (We've used them three times times over five years.) His partner, Mark, is also very helpful.

It went very well. Crew was very responsive, arrived on time and listened to what we needed done. They were also very sensitive to our neighbors. Very happy with work!
