Flawless process. Louie and his team of professionals constructed a bathroom where there was once nothing! They were a pleasure to have in my home - expert work, clean, and they never missed a day. They took time to answer any question and listened to what I wanted. Can’t say enough good things.

Louie and his team are top notch craftsmen in their field. He is the type of guy that defines integrity with his work. We live in an old house and the 5th owner. The previous owner took some shortcuts and Louie and team corrected all the nuances that were not quite right with our bathroom renovation. Louie coordinated EVERYTHING - told me where to go for fixtures, tile and stone - and I received excellent service from each vendor. I just had to go and pick what I liked, Louie did the rest. The quality of the work is outstanding. When he opened the walls he saw some other issues - instead of turning a blind eye to them, he made it right and fixed some other problems that could have been a bigger issue in the future. Louie aligns himself with top quality electricians, carpenters, and plumbers. We wish we had more projects for him to work on! I would recommend him to anyone.

Louie and Jimmy were great! So kind and knowledgable . They were here everyday and I could see progress every day. Any questions I had were answered in a very understanding way. Any questions/decisions during the project were collaborated with final decision, of course , being ours. I am very happy with my new bathroom and would absolutely hire them again for my next project!

Finished out ~800 ft2 third floor and added a bathroom. This is the second time that I've worked with Suburban Home Works and would absolutely recommend them to anyone. Louie and his crew were terrific. Louie took the time to understand exactly what we were looking for and brought in his subs when writing up the quote. He worked well with the town and the inspectors to ensure that the project would pass muster. Price on quote was very close, and he was very clear and promptly discussed with us whenever there was likely to be a change (in our case, some piping had to be changed, for example). Crew showed up every day promptly on time and cleaned up before leaving. All of the subs - electrical, plumbing, plasterer, glass and hardwood flooring were great and did terrific work. Louie did an excellent job of managing subs, and letting us know ahed of time what he needed (e.g. tile selection, plumbing fixtures, paint color etc). Quality of the finished work was excellent and the space looks better than I could have imagined it. Highly recommend!

Extremely professional and pleasant. We an on site consultation for a kitchen and bath renovation. Multiple options were discussed, they were polite and courteous. We just decided to do a scaled down face lift on our own rather than a complete renovation.

Our sixty-year-old kitchen needed a complete remodel and the plumbing and electrical work needed to be brought up to code. We interviewed several contractors and kitchen designers and all agreed that the utility work would be extensive and the bulk of our costs. Louie listened to our plans for the kitchen and we discussed what was possible within the footprint of the space. We met several times to discuss and agree on the plan for the kitchen and finally selected him because of his combination of design and contractor experience. My husband was very enthusiastic about hiring him. We had the kitchen gutted to the studs, which means everything was removed. He replaced insulation that had to be removed. We supplied our own appliances and fixtures. We followed Louie?s advice about what would best suit our needs. Overall, we are pleased with the final results and the look of our home, but the process was stressful and without Louie?s assistant Jimmy?s willingness to work closely with us and communicate to us what was happening and why, the job would have been much more unpleasant. I would give this company A+s if it weren't for the communication problems.I waited until we lived in the kitchen before submitting this review. You will get an outstanding result with quality workmanship if hire Suburban Home Works. I am delighted with the final result. I would hire them again even though there were communication difficulties. We learned you need to go into the process knowing what you want and be fully prepared to stand your ground about things that are important to you. Positives: 1. They started the project as close to one time as they could. Some of the cabinets were delayed which caused them to push back the start date. 2. Jimmy and Louie were always punctual. They never disturbed the household. 3. I was home during the work, which meant I could interact with the main workman, Jimmy, as needed. Jimmy was very attentive and was a good intermediary between Louie and us. He helped us come to compromises when Louie disagreed with me on design elements. Jimmy was superb - a diligent workman and an excellent counter point to Louie. He is a very hard worker. 4. They were all the cleanest workmen I have ever dealt with. Before we began the project, we discussed our concerns about the workspace since we have curious pets and children with Asthma and allergies. Every evening, without fail, they cleaned up the space and secured anything that could have been dangerous and took preventative steps to keep the dust from traveling through the house. 5. Louie is very knowledgeable about the industry he works in. He had no difficulty getting permits. The subcontractors that he hired were extremely skilled. We are very satisfied with their work. 6.The plastering and painting are perfect and we ultimately love all the work they did. 7. They were ultimately willing to work with us on changes we made to the original project and did additional work in adjoining spaces. They re-plastered the basement ceiling below the kitchen, changed doors to adjoining rooms and did additional small jobs we asked for. All the resulting extra costs were reasonable. These jobs did not appear to add extra time to the original kitchen remodel. Negatives: 1. Louie had his own ideas about the design for the kitchen from the start. Among the things he disagreed about were the color of the walls, the accent tiles, the kitchen door and windows. He wanted us to remove certain design elements from the old kitchen that we wanted to keep to make our kitchen unique. In the end, he agreed that everything went together to make an even more beautiful kitchen. Whenever we disagreed, Louie would default to telling me that what I wanted was not what was currently in style or ?what everyone else was doing?. This was part of a larger problem we encountered while working with Suburban Home Works. Louie would make assumptions about my knowledge, choices, what I wanted and why I wanted it instead of listening to me. The majority of these disagreements were resolved, mostly through the intervention of my husband and Jimmy. We never disagreed about additional jobs we asked him to include, just the kitchen design. Because communicating with my contractor was irritating, the entire process of having my house torn apart for construction was that much more frustrating and unpleasant. 2. When the job was job was completed, we discovered the wall cabinets were not as tall on the inside as we thought they would be. This has resulted in less overall storage space. It is entirely possible that this was due to a miscommunication or the limitations of the height of the kitchen. 3. The counter top Louie ordered and installed was not the quality we anticipated. The material we wanted was not available through his distributors so we went with what he could offer us. After the counter top was installed and we expressed our displeasure, Louie then told us he made this choice of material based on our budget and did not show us other options that better matched our expressed criteria because he assumed we would not expand our budget to get what we wanted. The owner was very good, very punctual, very professional, very timely and everything. The painting person that he had with him didn't do the kind of job that we expected but the installation of our kitchen island was done very, very well. One part of the work they were outstanding and the other part it was not something we desired.

I had a burst water pipe under the cement slab in the tiled foyer in my condo unit and I was leery of opening up the floor to make repairs, fearing the risk of a future leak. I wanted to consider other alternatives. Not knowing any contractors, I joined Angie's List and found Louis Accetta of Suburban Home Works right in my town of Lexington. Louie discussed my situation with his plumber and called me back in 10 minutes with questions, advice, and information he needed. We actually spoke four times before he visited with his plumber, John. After reviewing the possibilities of piping through the attic, John and Louie arrived at a very creative solution: install new piping within the unit, going through as many walls, closets, and hidden spaces as possible. When it was absolutely necessary to carry the pipes in full view, i.e., across the kitchen doorway, we would enclose them in a soffit painted the color of the wall. This is what we did, and it came out beautifully. There were a few challenges. The pipes did not come up out of the ground where they were supposed to, for instance. They were in a very awkward place (behind the bathtub) but John solved it by getting at them from the master bath shower that backed up to the tub. While the work was being done, I also did some minor cosmetic work on the two baths (new medicine cabinets and lighting). This necessitated the removal of wallpaper from one wall and painting it an accent color, which came out great. My other bath required total repainting and now has a lovely new look. Here is what I have learned about Louie Accetta from my two weeks of observation: * By nature, he likes to do things right. If something doesn't fit right, is lumpy or bumpy, or just isn't up to his standards, he will take the time to sand, grind, measure, plaster, drill, or whatever until the item fits or looks the way it should. * Having been in business for 30 years, he has learned a wide range of skills. He knows the techniques that work best. He knows some great tricks and shortcuts. And just as important, he knows what to avoid. * As a result of his experience, he has gathered a group of subcontractors who are the best at their craft - a plumber, plasterer, electrician, general carpenter/painter/paperer, and others - reliable people he trusts and has good communication with. * He is a "people person" who is easy and pleasant to be around. He has a strong sense of customer service and genuinely cares about pleasing his clients. When we are happy, he is happy. *He is neat and clean, very conscientious about caring for my home while it was being torn up. All of his crew cleaned after themselves each day and were always sweeping up. Putting my house back together was easier than I had imagined. I'm happy to recommend Suburban Home Works for your consideration.

Louie and his crew were great. Louie worked with us to create a detailed specification of exactly what was to be done. It was detailed enough that there were no surprises during the project. Any cost increases were known scope changes (we decided to use tile that was more complicated to install, for example). Louie is very knowledgeable about construction techniques and local zoning and had it all right. Louie's crew showed up on time, and he managed subs very well--all of the subs did superb work and were engaged throughout the process. The project proceeded at a timely pace and was completed on time. The quality of the work was great, and we love the new kitchen and bathroom. I would definitely recommend him in the future!

As stated he came and we discussed enlarging our island, putting glass backsplash and creating a beverage center. He was neat, always on time, extremely polite and most importantly always gave great ideas. All our questions were answered and his suggestions were spot on.

The experience with Suburban Home Works was the best of all the contractors we've had in our house. We've been adding to and renovating our house for over 15 years. It is four floors including the basement and Louie and his staff installed three of the most beautiful complete set of kitchen cabinets, each unique to the floor they are on, with exceptional professionalism. They were here when they said they would be, they worked and cleaned up in a timely manner and the cost was more than fair. I would recommend them without any reservations to anyone looking for quality work.
