 + -1 moreI called up the plumber late last week and made an appoint,ent for Monday. He asked if the leak was on the porition of the meter owned by me or the part owned by the town, explaining that the town would fix the portion that was theirs. I wasn't sure, so he agreed to come out and take a look at it. He arrived on time, took a look at the leak, and confirmed that it was on the town side. I was all set to pay him for his trouble, but he just tightened the connection and didn't charge me anything. It took almost no time at all.
Description of Work: I had a leak near my water meter that needed to be fixed.

Description of Work: I have used Richard for over 25 years and he has always done an excellent job. He was extremely responsive when we were out of heat during a cold snap that froze the pipes. We have never had a problem with leaking in all that time plus has recommended so very good ideas like installing valves on both sides of the pumps to avoid extra expense if the motor fails. I would highly recommend this company.

 + -1 moreThe charges were high and more than what I expected. He was a knowledgeable guy and explained what the problem was and everything. It took him just 15 minutes to do the work but the charge was high. The quality of the work was excellent. I would use them again only if the price was less.
Description of Work: The bathroom tub was clogged and water was not draining out properly and RP Domings Plumbing fixed the problem.

Description of Work: Our disposal was stuck due to a spoon that was wedged in the magnetic part. We had tried to dislodge the spoon ourselves and were not able to. He got the spoon out and "unstuck" the disposal.

 + -1 moreHe came out and he was very nice, it's just that his price was too high. We chose a different person because he gave us the best price and stayed closer to our house. The price of R P Domings was higher because they were going to do all copper piping and cost of copper is really expensive compared to the plastic pipes which most people use now. It would have been fantastic to get the copper piping done but we just couldn't pay the price. He was efficient and a nice guy. My husband thought he was a really nice guy and it was just the price. If the price was not so high we would have probably gone with him. He was very down and he knew what he was talking about. We just couldn't fit him in our budget because he was using copper piping instead of plastics. He was fantastic.
Description of Work: I got a quote from RP Domings Plumbing end of March for plumbing. We needed plumbing for the entire house and a new heating system. It was for everything.

 + 0 moreWhenever we call him he is available and will call back at night no matter what and discuss the problem with you. Then he will come out almost right away to see the problem and then set up an appointment to fix the issue.
Description of Work: In the past, he has installed something to reduce the water pressure to have the pipes stop squealing. This time he looked at the hot water tank and replaced it. He did take the old one away for us. I also asked about a water filter system and he spoke to me on the phone about it. He did call me back that night but I ended up doing the work myself.

Whereas most contractors, plumbers, painters, etc., usually leave the job with some small problems or defects they have to be called back to fix, Domings, who does much of his own work with at most 1 helper for large jobs, always leaves us completely satisfied. (I have good engineering and some plumbing skills myself, so I can easily spot defects in workmanship).
Description of Work: Major renovation, involving replacement of most water pipes, and replacement of old steam heating and hot-water systems with hot-water heating with new base-board radiators. Also, over the years, smaller jobs such as water faucet repairs, toilet repairs, etc.

 + -1 moreHe showed up on time as requested. We like people to take off their shoes when doing work inside - particularly when it's wet outside (snowing in this case). Even though there were many trips back and forth outside, he was very cooperative. Work was professional and he cleaned up after finishing. Very happy with professionalism.
Description of Work: We had a leaking toilet inlet valve and needed it fixed in a hurry. We called Domings and the receptionist took our request for next-day service.

Mr. Domings took time over the phone to discuss various possible causes for the problem, suggesting that the least expensive solutions be explored and leaving the more expensive options till last. He quickly identified the problem, eliminated other potential causes, and proposed the solution. Without any charge. We will ask him to install the fix devise.
Description of Work: There was a louder than usual rushing sound of water in our newly constructed house in the pipes running through walls and ceilings toward the bathroom it terminates at. Mr. Domings came by the outside of the house the next day (I did not have to be there)to measure the water pressure going into the house. It was higher than plumbing code allowed, as he had suspected. His 2nd visit was an inspection of the walls, ceilings, plumbing and bathroom.

SINCE MY HOUSE WAS BUILT IN 1911, I KNOW FROM UNEXPECTED SITUATIONS.

I'M TOLD HE'S AN EXCELLENT PLUMBER, AND HE IS CLEARLY KNOWLEDGEABLE, BUT HIS TOILET-SIDE MANNER COULD STAND TO BE CLEANED UP.
Description of Work: WHEN I CALLED TO SCHEDULE A PLUMBER, THE OWNER WAS COURTEOUS AND EFFICIENT, BUT HIS ASSUMPTIONS & MANNER CAUSED ME A THREE WEEK DELAY. WHEN I CALLED THE DAY BEFORE I EXPECTED HIM, TO CONFIRM THAT HE WAS COMING, HE TOLD ME THAT I HAD NOT BEEN SCHEDULED! (MY UNDERSTANDING HAD BEEN THAT THE SCHEDULE WAS SET, AND WE REPEATED THIS AT THE TIME, BUT THAT IF I WAS ABLE TO GET SOMEONE IN TO COMPLETE A SMALL SEGMENT OF THE LARGE JOB SOONER, THAT I'D TELL HIM.
