This was a very professional presentation and the information was complete. There is really no reason I wouldn't recommend this company. I did not use this company in the end as I felt a better rapport with one of the other two companies I interviewed.
Description of Work: Provider presented full scope of required service in clear, polite and comprehensive manner. He answered questions completely. Cost of work was explained and itemized on paper for later reference. Other printed material was given to further demonstrate what would be involved in the work.

We've hired him but we haven't actually had the service done yet so he would come back. The price was perfectly reasonable and a little bit on low side. He walked down the property and made suggestions on what was helpful to kind of help prioritize what kind of issues that we notice would actually cause water damage and superficial things that he recommended we not do which was really nice and when I had some follow-up questions, it was easy to speak to him on the phone. The scheduling has been a little challenging because they have not given a date when they would come and do the work. The price was very reasonable and he seems great, it's more like communication with his assistant for the scheduling is a little rough.
Description of Work: We got an estimate from Ronchetti Masonry & Waterproofing Inc. It is for a sump pump installation and apron fixing.

Originally I contacted Charlie to get a quote on putting in french drain in our basement. After he had come to our home, he gave us a quote for the french drain, but recommended we first try and see if we can prevent the water from coming in by putting in a water basin and a drain in the back of the house. Considering we were not ready to finish the basement yet, but wanted to keep the water out, we went with his recommendation and were so glad we did. His solution worked and it was one of the best investments we had made so far. His team did quality job, and was on time, on schedule, and on budget. We couldn't be happier with the work they had done.
Description of Work: Created a water basin and a drain in the back yard to route water around the porch and prevent it from coming into the basement.

When I got the written estimate for the first part of the work (about 1/4 of the total), it was $800 higher than his verbal estimate at the walk around, and was nearly as much as the other estimates I got for all the repairs I need. So, I let him know I could not afford him on my budget, He came highly recommended and I'm sure he does good work. I'm not sure why he priced my job so high and why he added so much to the written estimate. He bills his men out at $600 a day, which is about 50% more than the going rate. UPDATE Sept 20, 2013: Found a different mason who could fit me in sooner between major jobs instead of waiting for weeks. He did excellent work at much better than Ronchetti's price.
Description of Work: Charles Ronchetti came out and did a thorough walk around, and had great ideas and solutions to my walkway and drainage needs. He did indicate he was fully booked for weeks ahead.

Charlie Ronchetti & Company did an outstanding job, on schedule and on budget. The workmanship was first-rate, the workers were polite and professional and they cleaned-up as the job progressed. My basement is ready for refurbishment now that the walls have been restored properly. Originally, I asked Mr. Ronchetti to provide a quotation to install a French drain, but I decided, after doing more research, that it would be more cost-effective to just restore the walls, as there was no significant moisture issues that could not be controlled by a high quality dehumidifier (75-100 pints/hour). (Years earlier, I had Mr. Ronchetti install a double sump pump, which was highly effective keeping water out of the basement during heavy storms or post-Winter drainage). The 50-year old original stucco had separated and was falling off of the poured concrete walls and needed repair. I contacted Mr. Ronchetti to perform the work and scheduled it. All of the work was completed exactly as promised. The price was fair and competitive. I know this because I obtained four other quotations. I would hire Mr. Ronchetti again whenever I have need for any kind of masonry work and most strongly recommend him and his fine staff.
Description of Work: Charlie Ronchetti & Company removed old stucco, cleaned, prepared and applied new concrete stucco to restore the walls to their original condition.

Better ratings should not allow someone to mislead and waste customers time. Based on rating I called him and waited for him to reply or respond. Bare minimal professionalism or courtesy would suggest that he could reply to phone and say that he was not available. It would have saved me time to contact others. "F" for professionalism, responsiveness and punctuality. Other two, I am not rating as I didn't go beyond phone call.

Never got to the point that anything happened. Too bad from his reviews sounds like people are happy.Seemed like a very pleasant fellow. I just think I should have been told that he didn't want the job in the first place.
Description of Work: Spoke to Charles explained the problem. He was scheduled to look at work when I received a call from someone in the office stating he was tied up at a job and would call me later. Never heard from them again. Now I see he doesn't service my area. Would have been nice if you told me that in the beginning instead of blowing me off.

The job went excellent. I cannot say enough about Charlie and his crew. They worked very hard for several days installing the trench, working around obstacles, and leaving a smooth concrete finish and clean work area. Charlie is extremely knowledgeable and answered all my questions before, during, and after the job. He even called me back while he was on vacation to answer a related concern I had and suggest a fix. A true pleasure to work with.

I believe the owner is Charles. He came to my house, looked at the problem and explained what my plumber had done wrong in trying to fix the flooding problem in my driveway. He was very busy and was honest about hi schedule. It took about 6 weeks for him to get to me but he showed with a helper and an electrician and completed the job which included installing 2 heavy duty pumps plus the 220 wiring. Seems to have done the trick. We've a few rain storms that would've overwhelmed the previous system but his has handled it with no problem at all. Maybe now I won't freak everytime I hear we're going to get 3" of rain

After tearing up part our finished basement due to mold damage, we called Ronchetti as one of our three basement waterproofing companies for a quote. Their quote come out in the middle, but they appeared to be the most knowledgeable. Also, they were very committed to keeping the water out of the basement, rather than just trying to control it once it was in the house. They gave us a quote for leveling two sidewalks and regrading underneath our porch, as well as installing a french drain. Charles was very open with us that once we did the work outside the house we might not need a french drain. We decided to just go with the work outside and, fingers crossed, the basement is dry!! I feel confident that we went with the right company and appreciated the thorough job Charles did during the site visit. He was there for an hour listening to out concerns, hearing the history of the project, and exploring the site. The price did seem a little high for two days of work, but I think you pay for what you get. This was quality work! Also, though they reported a month wait, they were able to get in there sooner. If you want to solve your problem, these are the guys!
Description of Work: They banked two brick walkways away from our house. They also moved a lot of dirt under a porch and banked it away from the house. They covered it with plastic to help it maintain shape throughout future rainstorms. Our neighbors commented on what a thorough and comprehensive job they were doing!

Charles was able to give us a quote on the spot, and told us to call his office if we accepted and to get a tentative time. When I called, I was told that they would be available the last week of September (about 6 weeks out). I received a call mid-September confirming that they would be preforming the work at that time, and would call the day before they arrived. It was very rainy (causing delays) and I was not contacted again. I called in mid-October and asked "what happened?" and was told that they could have a team out tomorrow. I accepted, and the workers showed up on-time the next day. There had been a communication issue, and the workers had arrived with bluestone (not brick) for the steps, no equipment to pull the bushes, and no jackhammers for demolition. The team called the office for the supplies/tools they needed and immediately set to work on what they could accomplish - such as demolishing the concrete apron by hand with mattocks. While less noisy/disruptive to us and the neighbors it seemed really inefficient. By the end of the 1st day they had removed all of the damaged brick, the bushes, and re-cast the apron. On the second day, they finished the work (repairing the stairs, grading the soil & adding ice& water shield & gravel, and righting the tipping retaining wall). The grade appeared inadequate - I guess it's just hard to judge 5 percent with your eyes - but a water test showed it to be OK. I also wish they had compacted the soil (I assumed this was included, but did not get verbally or in writing that they would). The bill arrived a week later for the full amount (they did not require a deposit); exactly as quoted. We've not had any major rains since then, but there was no water infiltration during Hurricane Sandy, and the steps look pretty good.
Description of Work: We were experiencing minor water infiltration into our basement due to settling/improper grading of our front yard that had soil sloping towards the house. We contacted 4 companies, and received 4 quotes (each with a different construction method) ranging from $800 to $8,000 for the following: 1) Remove 5 overgrown bushes in front of house (to expose work area) 2) Fix drainage problem 3) Repair minor damage (cracked bricks/localized unevenness) in the masonry stairs - to prevent infiltration though stairs. Charles Ronchetti proposed (and executed) fixing the drainage by removing and re-casting a settled concrete apron at the base of the steps so it sloped away from the house, regrading the soil up to 6' out from the house to slope away from the house at 5 degrees, adding 3' of ice and water barrier next to the house, protected by gravel. This was the 2nd least invasive method proposed, and the 2nd cheapest. (We feared that unnecessarily disturbing the soil next to the house would make the infiltration worse). His team also righted a leaning retaining wall (8-12" brick) for no additional cost.

Charles was great to schedule and plan the job. We talked about the different options and found a great solution, which I am really happy with. Charles took the time to understand the problem and find the best solution possible. It involved quite a bit of work which was done very professional and as clean as possible. Charles and the workers were very professional and knowledgeable. Several months after the work was done I contacted Charles again regarding the grade of the garage floor. Water from the car would run into an area we did not want it in. That was something he had anticipated but there was no better solution at the time. He came out and resurfaced the part of the garage and fixed the problem AT NO COST. I offered to pay for it since it was not really a problem with his initial work but he did not want to get paid for it. He obviously stands behind his work and guarantees it. Very professional and very high quality at a great price. I would definitely use Charles again and recommend him. I had also gotten estimates from another popular local company for basement waterproofing (with a pet in their name) and they were more expensive and did not come up with the easier solution. I also did not like how they approached the problem with the discharged water probably affecting your neighbor. So definitely go with Charles!
Description of Work: Charles Ronchetti removed (jack hammered) my old concrete garage floor, poured a new floor and dug a French drain around the perimeter of my basement which then led to sump pumps. Moved the sump pump pit away from sink and also removed drain to sink and moved it to drain outside. Installed new battery backed up sump pumps in new pit.

I contacted Ronchetti to evaluate/estimate the job. Charles scheduled the appointment quickly, arrived on time with his foreman and provided a very thorough and honest assessment of the work. He provided various options with estimates on the spot and helped me evaluate each approach. He's extremely knowledgeable and very detail oriented. Ronchetti started the job 2 days later. They arrived on time and the entire crew was extremely professional. The end result was exactly what I expected. I would highly recommend Charles and his crew and will certainly contact him in the future when I need additional work.

It went very well they had planned to do the work in January of 2011 but I asked them to keep me in mind if someone canceled or if they found an opening in their schedule. Several weeks passed and they called to let me know that they have a new opening in October of 2010 and would I want them then. I agreed to the October date. They were there on time and moved everything in my cellar to the center so they could perform the work. Everything was fine.
Description of Work: They were very professional and jack-hammered and dug a French drain around the perimeter of my basement which then led to sump pumps (all within my basement). They ran the sump pump outlet to the outside of my house which then drained away from the foundation. They installed the sump pump system which included a standard electric pump with a battery back up pump. They did a very good job and were as neat and clean as possible. They were done in several days. I would hire them again.

This was the solution he devised after consulting with me on various approaches and our budget considerations. He was very thorough in examining the situation and recommending other procedures to more fully realize basement waterproofing. His crew was very professional and fast, getting in and out with minimal fuss. He described the procedure thoroughly, including the deconstruction to get to the wall in question. His crew navigated in between tight pipes and a less-than-optimal space in an old basement. He came in under his estimate and consequently charged me less.
