I'm very disappointed with Matthew R. Foti Landscaping, despite a positive estimate experience with Joe Nardelli. When I called to book (one month after the estimate), a woman said jobs were three weeks out. I'd get a call the week before to say which day they would arrive. Six weeks later (I allowed extra time for Thanksgiving), I still had not heard. I called and left a message. The return call--too hurried (though not rude) for me to ask questions--said someone would arrive the next day. The arborists themselves arrived promptly, were friendly, and did the work well (as far as my untrained eye can tell). But no explanation was ever given for the delay. So I wrote a letter asking why. Joe returned my call and apologized, but blamed it on my talking to the wrong person and having asked about a winter discount at the estimate. Since when is the person answering the phone the WRONG person? And since when does asking about a discount trump the time you call and ask for work?

FROM START TO FINISH, THIS WAS A TOP NOTCH OPERATION. THEY GAVE ME A PROMPT APPOINTMENT FOR AN ESTIMATE, WERE VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE ABOUT THE TREES, CAME ON TIME AND DID GREAT WORK (THEY WERE CAREFUL WHEN DROPPING THE LIMBS, CLEANED UP THE YARD AND CLEANED UP MY NEIGHBOR'S YARD). THEY MIGHT BE SLIGHTLY MORE EXPENSIVE THAN OTHERS, BUT THEY ARE WELL WORTH THE COST. A CLASS ACT ALL ROUND. I WOULD DEFINITELY HIRE THEM AGAIN.

MATTHEW FOTI DID NOT COME OUT HIMSELF TO QUOTE THE JOB, BUT SENT SOMEONE ELSE NAMED JOE. JOE DID NOT SEEM AS KNOWLEDGEABLE, AND EITHER DODGED OR GAVE VAGUE ANSWERS TO A COUPLE OF MY QUESTIONS. THIS, COUPLED WITH A HIGHER ESTIMATE, LED ME TO CHOOSE ANOTHER COMPANY FOR MY TREE WORK.

WE HAVE USED THEM FOR ABOUT 20 YEARS. MATT IS A CERTIFIED ARBORIST. WHEN THE TREE FELL ON OUR HOME, IT WAS DURING AN ICE STORM. I COULDN'T HARDLY WALK ON THE ICE AND THEY WERE MANEUVERING AROUND WITH NO PROBLEMS. THEY ARE VERY SKILLED AND PROFESSIONAL IN EVERYTHING THAT THEY DO. THEIR PRICE FOR THE FALLEN TREE WAS VERY REASONABLE.

CALLED AND TOLD US THEY WERE COMING AND EXPLAINED WHOLE PROCESS THAT THEY WERE GOING TO DO. THEY WERE EXCEPTIONALLY KNOWLEDGEABLE AND PROFESSIONAL.

THEY HAD A CREW OF 5 OR 6 GUYS TO COME OUT AND TRIM AND CLEAN UP, USING CHERRY PICKERS FOR MOST OF THE DAY. THEY DO EXCELLENT WORK, THE CREW IS ALWAYS ON TIME AND CLEANS UP WHEN THEY ARE DONE. WE ARE VERY PLEASED WITH THEIR SERVICE AND WILL CONTINUE USING.

THEY'RE EXPENSIVE, BUT THEY'RE GOOD.
