Description of Work: We contacted Howie Dow for an estimate on moving a wall in our home. He responded to our phone message promptly, but was unable to complete the work in our tight time frame. He did refer us to another handyman. Howie was prompt, polite and very helpful. We will definitely contact him again when we need work done in our home.

+ -1 moreHE HAD A CONTRACT JOB DURING THE WEEK SO WHEN I CONTACTED HIM HE WAS ONLY TAKING JOBS FOR THE WEEKENDS. HE CAME OUT 2XS TO SEE THE JOBS TO BE DONE. HE COMMUNICATED WELL VIA E-MAIL ASKING FOR CLARIFICATIONS. HE ALSO PROPOSED A FEW DIFFERENT SOLUTIONS VIA E-MAIL SO THAT WE COULD MAKE A DECISION ON WHAT SHOULD BE DONE (WE WERE PUTTING THE CONDO ON THE MKT) DEPENDING ON WHAT OUR INTENT WAS. HE WAS ON TIME. THE ONLY SLIGHT NEGATIVES WERE THAT HE PERSUADED US AGAINST DOING SOME JOBS THAT WERE MORE LABOR INTENSIVE AND THE JOBS TOOK A BIT LONGER THAN EXPECTED.
Description of Work: HOWIE DID A VARIETY OF SMALL JOBS AT OUR CONDO & NEW HOUSE INCLUDING: PATCHING UP AREAS WHERE THE PAINT WAS PEELING & RE-PAINTING THOSE SECTIONS, REPAIRING A SMALL AREA OF TILE, REINFORCED THE HINGES ON A HEAVY ROOF DECK DOOR, PAINTED OUR BATHROOM CEILING, REPLACED LATTICE WORK ON DECK RAILING, AND CAULKED AROUND A TUB.

+ -1 moreBOTH HOWIE AND HIS COLLEAGUE BRIAN WERE WONDERFUL TO WORK WITH, EXTREMELY ORGANIZED, CONSCIENTIOUS, RELIABLE AND HELPFUL. THEY WORKED LONG HOURS TO COMPENSATE FOR TIME LOST BECAUSE OF A SNOWSTORM JUST TO GET THE JOB DONE ON TIME. I WOULD DEFINITELY HIRE THEM AGAIN.
Description of Work: HOWIE DOW AND HIS COLLEAGUE BRIAN HANNON PERFORMED RENOVATIONS ON SEVERAL ROOMS IN MY NEW CONDO. IN THE BEDROOM, THEY TORE DOWN THE WALLS TO THE STUDS, INSTALLED NEW INSULATION IN ONE WALL TO CREATE A SOUND BARRIER, AND WALL BOARD. THEY PAINTED THIS ROOM, AS WELL AS THREE OTHER ROOMS (OVER WOOD PANELING). IN ONE OF THE ROOMS, THEY PULLED OUT A DROP CEILING AND REPAIRED AND PAINTED THE ORIGINAL CEILING ABOVE. IN ANOTHER ROOM, THEY PULLED OUT THE DROP CEILING, BUILT FRAMING FOR A NEW CEILING, INSTALLED CEILING BOARD, AND PAINTED IT. HOWIE ALSO INSTALLED CUSTOM-BUILT SHELVES INTO A RECESSED AREA IN ONE WALL OF THE LIVING ROOM.
