COLORS OF PERFECTION

Stripping, sanding and repair of clapboards required two months. The house was painted during the third month. The painters worked tirelessly. The downside was the creation of dust despite the use of filtered vacuums. Also the plants around the house were damaged. At the completion of the long project, several areas were missed and were pointed out to the contractor. Because the weather was cold he stated he would return in the spring to address them. The problems with the contractor were :1) he was not geared towards client satisfaction; 2) he did not follow the time-lines of the contract in regards of payment schedule and requested payments at times other than those agreed upon; 3) he was slow to repair areas that we pointed out. Inadequate supervision of the workers by the owner was apparent.

Michael's company did an excellent job painting our office space, and I highly recommend their work. The job was extremely rushed. We had only a few days between signing the lease and moving in (and it was Thanksgiving weekend). Michael was very accommodating to our aggressive time line. As soon as the lease was signed, the painting work started and we were able to move in within a week. We had requested that in both the main space and each room, two walls would be painted a different color to give the entire office a 'designer' feel. The job was done with a lot of care, and the result was beautiful. We also changed our mind on the kitchen colors, and Michael was very accommodating in repainting the walls. We had to move in quickly and overlap with his painters for a week. They made sure that they were not in our way and worked late in the evening (from 8 am to 8 pm everyday + weekends + thanksgiving day) to ensure that the job was finished at the earliest possible time.
