Brendan McHugh Painting

The rooms look like new! I'm so happy I hired him to do the job. He was pleasant, worked with me on paint color, and made it easy to have the work done in furnished rooms while I was home. He even offered to come back and fix any dings after the carpet installation.

The best!!! Brendan has just finished painting our house and the quality of his work is just amazing. He really goes above and beyond with everything he does, no shortcuts, if he sees something is broken or rotten, he fixes it. Also he is very neat, he's just left and the yard and everything around the house looks exactly how it was before he came, no paint ships around, no broken branches, etc. This was the second time he's painted the house and there is no question in my mind that when the house will need the painting again, we'll call Brendan again.

Brendan and his crew work diligently and quietly to get the job done in a timely manner. He is easy to deal with and takes time to answer all questions about the job. He is prompt in responding to messages left on the phone or email. Brendan has always done a great job from preparing the surfaces to the final coat. He also cleaned and put Thompson's water seal on a cedar shed. He went the extra mile and cleaned the moss off the roof of the shed. He is wonderful to work with and I highly recommend him.

Brendan is terrific and we wouldn't consider anyone else. Brendan has painted both the outside and most rooms inside our house. His meticulous work at a fair price made us a repeat customer. He does the job right and does not take shortcuts. If the wall being painted needs repair due to nail holes, wall, anchors, or worse, he'll properly fix it before painting. He is very responsive to both requests for quotes as well as scheduling the painting. Our house looks so much better thanks to Brendan and his team.

Brendan and co-workers provided excellent workmanship and were always cheerful and eager to provide. They were effective (and very patient) in resolving difficult issues (15-25 year old stain with a variety of colorations and textures) with the staining to give the look we were after (relatively uniform but still showing some of the character of natural cedar shingles). After several attempts with various types of stains, we settled on one that ultimately provided an outstanding finish. Also, at their suggestion we changed the type of stain to one that would be more resistant to mold and discoloration while still providing the appearance we wanted. Once we were past the finish selection issues, they efficiently completed the work, and the results were exceptional. They often did the "little things" that I would have done if i were doing the job myself (spending time to fix woodpecker holes here and there, cleaning off the porch roof while they were cleaning the siding, coming up with ways to effectively repair rather than replace some damaged wood, etc). They were also careful with our enthusiastically unfriendly dogs. We also appreciated how Brendan works with his co-workers and obviously looks out for them and treats them well. By the end of the work, we feel that we made new friends that can also be trusted to provide quality work at a fair price.

Brendan was fantastic. He initially gave me a proposal for my whole condo, but, when I decided to split the job into two parts, he cheerfully returned to do a second proposal. He and an assistant came on time every day, worked industriously, were considerate and helpful and even added a few touches they thought would improve the job. Brendan was always in a good mood and was a pleasure to have around. I felt completely comfortable leaving the house when he and another painter were there. While I only needed indoor work done, I know he does exterior work. I plan to call him again as soon as I am ready to follow up with the rest of the job!

Brendan is very reasonably priced -- especially considering all the work they did. He was on time every day. Brendan and his crew bring value-added to their efforts. A very positive experience, highly recommend.
