Description of Work: Needed to have a door frame temporarily removed and then put back so that a large object could be moved into a room. They arrived on time, immediately went over the scope of the job and got to work. They did an excellent job, on time and on budget. Couldn't ask for a better performed job.

Description of Work: Prompt response to request for estimate as well as coming to my house to see the needed work. However, there was not any follow through with an estimate, passing on the work or some other explanation despite saying would provide an estimate within a week. In general I think handyman services are a waste and hit or miss in quality. Ultimately I had the work done by my go to contractor even though it was smaller/less profitable in nature for him. That's why he's my go to because he gets the job done and knows what reputation gets him in the long run.

Description of Work: He came to inspect, he gave me a verbal quote and promise to email me a quote. I waited 3 week but nothing. I call him, he said sorry but things got busy but promise to send it soon. Than another 3 week, I call him and he said he may have gotten the wrong email, so I send him a message on Angie's List and email him a reminder to his office. I would not care if he decide to not take the job but a little professionalism is appreciated.

Description of Work: They called to try to figure out a time to schedule service, said they would call me back in "an hour" to co for when they could make it to our neighborhood. That was a week ago. They never called back. I got another provider to do the job.

Description of Work: Small wallboard repair job. Installer had to go back to get a piece large enough for the exposed area. Patch was finished well and ready for painting with only minor sanding required.

Description of Work: Rick got rid of an ice dam that was causing a leak, shoveled off a portion of the roof and took down a giant icicle that was getting bigger every day. After several storms dumped many feet of snow, most companies were not returning phone calls. A friend recommended Handyman Matters where someone not only answered the phone, but scheduled an appointment for the following day and then showed up. I will definitely use them again.

Description of Work: I have been trying to find someone to repair some stairs in my house for years. On the basis of past experience, it was difficult to envision how someone could actually do it. By some miracle, a master craftsman came to my house, fixed my stairs, made it look easy and also fixed a hole in the ceiling I had made a few days earlier by stepping on a loose board. He further tantalized me by saying he could fix other house problems that have been worrying me. I feel like I've won the lottery and signed up for more house headache relief.

Description of Work: I used the coupon to have a handyman do some work - replace our wooden stairs, repair a cabinet door and help drain a downspout. The work was unsatisfactory the first time and they left us with a cabinet that wouldn't close. The front steps didn't look professionally installed and a drain snake was bought and charged to me. After a few more visits and a promise that the money for the drain snake would be refunded, the job was finally completed, but the money for the snake was never refunded. The first technician was not good at all, the second was better, but still couldn't complete the job. The third technician was great and worked until the cabinet doors would close. Overall I found the owner, Bob, fairly unresponsive and he never called back after the final visit to see if the work was satisfactory, even though he knew that I was having issues with the quality of the work performed before the last technician. This whole process from the first visit to the final visit took about 2 1/2 months. I live in an older home that could benefit from a handyman from time to time, unfortunately Handyman Matters lost my business.

Examples of work that Mark from Handyman Matters did were: - repair small leak in ceiling, patch, and get ready for painting - repair broken shelf on bathroom tile. Reworked the design with a wooden shelf that looks great. - caulked around tile in kitchen - repaired the old plaster behind the granite backsplash that was moving as a result. - created new trim around fireplace mantle that had separated from shifting - replaced basement lighting fixtures.
