The handyman was prompt and went right to work. Area where work was performed was neat and clean when completed. Job ended up being less than quoted. Good experience overall.

Outstanding experience. When I first called the company, I was able to speak to an actual person - no answering machine, no waiting for days for a return call. Al came out to take a look and give me an estimate - he arrived on time, very prompt. I was able to quickly schedule an appointment for the work. Once again, Al arrived right on time and did the work well within the time frame and cost estimate provided. After 2 months of trying to schedule this work with another handyman, I was able to get an estimate and have the work done within 1 week with Handyman Matters. I would definitely use them again - very reliable, easy to schedule - a no stress/no hassle experience.

Work was performed in under two hours which was less time than I had thought it would take. I'm very pleased with the results.

We were very satified with Bob's professionalism and the quality of his work. He cut no corners and worked with us once it became clear that we had exisitng damage that needed to be fixed before the vainities could be replaced.

Excellent. Dave came early and did a great job with all the tasks I gave him. He was very detailed oriented and also assisted with an additional DIY shelf that I was having problems with. He was very professional and prepared.

The handyman arrived on time and took out the storm windows and replaced with screens. I had told the person when I requested the services I just needed someone to show me how to unhinge. This person worked fast, so I thought maybe I was not clear enough and so went on to the next task. I found 2 other screens in the basement , I thought they could be for the patio doors, so thought he could check those quickly. He tried but struggled to get them to fit after about 5 -10 minutes. I told him that was o.k. (several times) as I surmised that these screens could very well be from some doors that were replaced before my purchase of the home. He finally said he would come back to them and moved on to the curtain rods. I asked him to install 3 curtain rods, third window already had a curtain rod but was different from what I bought. I pointed to third window and said I wanted the 3rd (there was an existing rod already installed there) to be higher to match placement of other two he just installed. There were 3 rods/hardware in boxes that I provided to him, but he just moved the old third rod up and left the third box unopened, which I did not notice until later. I asked him to put up some very high pictures as they were too high for me reach. He asked where, I said about 2 inches from where some old nails were hanging , before I knew it, he had drilled the anchors without making sure the placement was right with the actual picture. He patched the first holes, but now I have to paint. Then, he went back to trying to fit the large screens again, I kept saying the screens were probably from some old doors that had been replaced but another 10 minutes had to pass before he finally gave up. This person was young, but I expected him to listen and confirm things. He also did not clean up well after drilling the anchors and occasionally I heard some loud bang without explanation or recognition of the noise even after I looked in to see what happened. I might try the company again, but ask for a different handyman. I expected for the price I would get better service.

I am really happy that I called Handyman Matters. They did a fantastic job and were very affordable. They were nice and eager to do the work. The workman arrived right one time, he set up his tools quite quickly, he got to work, did all his cutting, installed the counters, and then gave me advice on some other small things I could do to add some finishing touches.

I had the week off so I wanted to fit as much home repair / delivery stuff in as possible. I called Handyman Matters on Tues and they were able to schedule me on Friday. The intake person described all of the fees and said that it could take up to 2 hours but it actually only took one, so the outside estimate was more than the actual, which was nice. The guy was a little late, but called from the road to let me know. Also, I had a question about the work before he came and the office relayed it to him and he returned the call en route. He worked fast and made sure all the lights turned on before he left. He didn't leave a mess.

He arrived on time after having to go to two different hardware stores to get the right cabinets. He assembled the cabinets on the front porch to avoid making a mess inside. He was courteous. He then listened to the list of things I wanted done, and told me he had an afternoon appointment. He installed the child locks and secured the bed slats mentioned above. My advice is to book a morning appointment, because the first appointment I booked was for an afternoon slot. I was bumped to another day when their morning job turned into an all-day job because of the discovery of extensive rot in the other patron's home. My second time around, with a morning appointment, the handyman had not been told by the dispatcher about all the things I wanted done, so he accomplished as many as he could in the allotted time before his afternoon appointment.

The site was kept neat and every effort was made to minimize dust. The result was paint ready. The woodwork joints were neatly executed. The work was finished on time and under estimate.

Bob came and gave us an estimate for the work which included replacing a hose spigot. The guy who did the work was prompt and did an excellent job. He told us that Bob had underestimated the amount of rot of the wood and that he would need to come back the following day which he did. We called and said that we didn't want to bother with replacing the hose spigot as we didn't want to spend any more money. The guy showed up the next morning having already bought the spigot (which we decided to keep and still not have the work done) worked for another 2.5 hours. So our original estimate for the work was increased by almost 23% and that was without the originally estimated hour of labor for the spigot replacement that we had to cancel to keep down the price.

When I called for a quote for re-pitching my gutter and possibly replacing potentially rotten fascia boards, the representative was very helpful. He scheduled one of his handymen (Rich Bernhardt) to that Friday to look into it. He also explained the rates up front and quoted an estimate over the phone for a half day of work. Since I was comfortable with the estimate, I set up the appointment. Rich arrived and looked at the gutters. Within 30mins he had already confirmed that the wood was in good shape and I did not need any replacement fascia. He finished re-pitching the gutter within an 1 1/2 hrs. He also adjusted the downspout height so that it would drain into my rain barrel properly. He noticed there was a soffit trim board gap and offered to replace that and I agreed. He was done within two hours and presented my wife with the invoice, and didn't charge us for the trim board material, since he had it scrap in his van. We were so excited that it cost us less than we expected, we forgot to use our coupon! We would definitely use this handyman service again. They seem to be very flexible and professional.

the first time we set up a time the dispatcher forgot to assign someone to the job. The second time the handyman was prompt, friendly, and worked quickly.

We scheduled an appointment for later in the week and the handyman showed up right on time. He quickly assessed the situation and made several recommendations and we were thrilled to learn that the stall needed regrouting more than new tiling. He went off and bought the necessary supplies and got right to work. He discussed his approach for patching different areas and was concerned how his work would match the original. Hard working, commitment to customer satisfaction and a fair price. We will definitely use Handyman Matters again for any interior or exterior jobs.

It was a mixed experience. I used them because they answered my call promptly and came out promptly to give an estimate. They were good about doing the work quickly. The basic reason I liked them was they came out quickly and their work itself was good but I have a big complaint about the estimate that they gave me to complete the work. They said that the actual price might be a bit higher but it was so much higher than the estimate that I was not happy with that. The quality of their work was very good but the price was terrible.

First job was a dryer vent that had to be fixed and insulated. Second job was a hole in ceiling had to be plastered. There were some smaller jobs around the house that were done like fixing some cracks. My overall experience with them was very good. They were professional and on time. Their estimate was accurate. I was happy with their service and I would definitely use them again. Their price was reasonable.

They were prompt and their cost was right on. Actually, the cost came in a little less than what we expected. They provided great customer service and responded quickly. Their communication was clear and frequent. We will use this company again in the future.

One thing I liked most about them was that I was paying them by the hour and they allowed me to help them to do the job which got them to do the work faster and saved some labor cost for me.

Bob, who coordinates the visits, is a reliable communicator. Alex, the handyman, visited twice, and two visits had to be cancelled - one because of weather, and once because of another job. Bob was pretty good about providing advance notice. Alex is friendly, a very competent carpenter and a hard worker. The work is solid, though the finish could be better.

The project had a difficult start. There were some staffing issues beyond Bob's control, which Bob worked to deal with, and which I am not considering in my review. Beyond those, my only real complaint was that they were off base on their original estimate, by about 200%. The original estimate was $6700. There were some small scope changes, but not enough to account for the overage. In the end we terminated the project without completing all the work because the costs had gotten too high. Bob was responsive, and struggled to understand why they missed so significantly in their estimate, but ultimately just misjudged the scope. The work that was done, was well done, and the final price reflected a courtesy discount to try to take some of the sting out of the final invoice but ultimately I was disappointed by the entire experience.

Handyman matters has been a pleasure to work with. Bob Samson (the owner) has been responsive about giving estimates and addressing concerns. The pricing is transparent and reasonable (simple time and materials), and the various workers have been punctual and professional. This is my "go to" source for help on small projects around the house.

Tim left me a message the night before to let me know his approximate time of arrival for the following day. He then called me again the next day to let me know that he was going to be a bit later than expected. He arrived to do the work and was friendly and energetic. He had helpful suggestions about replacing the hose racks in a more accessible spot. After he did the work that we had agreed on, he offered to do more and when I asked him to take down the window boxes, he did so happily and cut them up for me to make them "trash friendly". I have used Handyman Matters many times and this was another positive experience from start to finish.

I called and spoke with Bob and he scheduled a time for someone to come by and do the work. I didn't even have to here. The work was done and an invoice was left for me. It was all very easy.

Arranging the appointment was easy. Bob was very helpful on the phone and instantly made me feel that I'd called the right people! Alex turned up promptly for the scheduled appointment and finished the job within the hour. He then remounted one of the shelves (also within the hour) because I wanted it repositioned slightly - all this was done with a friendly professional manner. I will definitley use them again for jobs that get the better of me!
