Received a call back very quickly, and they were accommodating to my schedule which was a little complicated at the time. On the day of the service, Bruce arrived very promptly (even a little early) and did the work efficiently and neatly (didn't leave paint chips on the windowsill, etc). Very satisfied with the quality of work.

Bob called me back pretty quickly to arrange a date for the repair. We exchanged phone numbers but on the agreed upon date, no handyman showed up....A VERY frustrating experience after taking some time off from work in order to meet the handyman. While a change in plans can happen, not calling to alert me and then not calling back after I left a message about the missed date led me to my overall rating of FBuyer beware.

Bob replied my calls very fast. The gentleman who showed up for the service was very courteous. He nailed three pieces of loose siding in, and took a look at the garbage disposal which was leaking. So he patched it. Even though I mentioned it in the phone conversation about the garbage disposal, he told us that Bob did not forward the message to him him that he "had to do THAT." I mentioned that we purchased a 2-hour handyman service, and it should not be just to nail in the siding. So he completed the job within an hour. Then my husband asked him to patch up a hole around the chimney area in the basement, which took him half an hour. Afterwards he took off, well under 2-hr. With the Angie's List Big Deal, it was a good service! I also understand that the service may be "assignment-based" rather than "time-based." Therefore I should not expect someone to stay for 2-hr-ish. But I have to say that the whole experience was very different from our interactions with other "A" grade contractors from Angie's List.

They were great, from the quote to the work. They were professional and did a great job on the work. The door looks great and there were one of the only companies who was willing and able to do what we asked. I definitely recommend them.

They had to reschedule the initial appointment and called the day before to do so. We postponed a week but then they had an appointment earlier in the week open up and we did that. The service itself was excellent. The guy walked me through everything he was going to do step-by-step. I'm not an expert, but I know enough to know he wasn't taking any short cuts. Their price was on the higher side, but given the quality of service it was worth it.

Went great. The handyman came up with a very cost effective solution and it looked great when he was done.

The process was to my specifications. Marc was very thorough and exceeded met and exceeded my expectations. He even applied silicone to prevent leakage around the joint of the downspout. I have a job I will be calling Mr. Sampson again as soon as i can come up with a date.

"At Handyman Matters, it's simple: we stand by our work to the extent of guaranteeing it. If you're not happy, we're not done with the job! First, we were seriously overcharged for the stairs. When we priced them at Lowe's (where they were purchased) they cost $246.11. We were charged $373.58. When we inquired about the charge, we were told that the additional cost was for pickup and delivery and 30% profit margin. That was $127.47 over the cost of the stairs. In addition, the wooden board which was to cover the stairs on the ceiling was not measured correctly and therefore did not fit. Some foam was used to patch the areas that were open, but the foam was never placed appropriately and therefore was totally visible, very inappropriate and ugly. We called Bob, the owner, multiple times to ask him to come over and judge the workmanship. He never came. We sent letters, and finally, pictures, to indicate the problem. No response! I would be happy to share the pictures with anyone who would be interested. Ultimately he returned the money he had charged for the workmanship ($255,00). Of course that did not help solve the issue. We would rather have had someone come and fix the problem. Ultimately, we paid $408.00 for the stairs which actually cost less than $250.00. This was absolutely the worst experience we've had on Angie's List. Every other provider has been more than excellent!

We had a great experience with Handyman Matters and would definitely use them again. Bob Samson was quick to come and give us an estimate and helpful in suggesting the best materials. He was easy to get hold of by phone and email. We had to special order the new door and it came in earlier than expected, so we got the job done two weeks early. Our handyman, Mark, called the night before to confirm the appointment, arrived promptly the next morning with all the materials he needed, and had the new door and lock installed in under 4 hours. He worked very diligently and did a great job on the installation. The price was just about what was quoted and the new door looks great.

My experience was very positive. The handyman who performed the work was punctual and professional and worked quickly. All the work he did was to my satisfaction and has held up. Will use Handyman Matters again in the future.

He did a very good job, he identified the problem with the shower door. He was very nice and very accommodating. He took a long time scraping the molds and really worked hard at it and it looks terrific. I was very very pleased with his work.

I filled out their quote request on their website and within hours got both an email and phone call from the company asking when they could come by. The owner was polite and friendly. The man who came to do the work was punctual, polite, and capable. The whole project was done in one day and the eventual cost was actually much lower than the estimate! I will definitely use them again in the future and have already recommended them to my sister for some work.

He was OK. It’s an old house so we had some old door knobs. There were some things that he did that were fine. He was better that average but not a fabulous experience. He was just fine. I called them one time to have them come back but it took a long time to get them to respond to my call.

These guys are great, by the end of the kitchen project and for the entire bathroom project I would leave in the morning with the door open and come back to something new and the house cleaner then when I left it. Every now and then I would stop by to drop something off or just to check in and answer a few questions talk about some decisions and that was that. They were so easy to work with I felt like a friend was doing the work for me. We ran into a few issues with structural or just old design issues they would layout the options give their opinions and I would make the call and it was done. I have done remodels before on much bigger budgets that did not go nearly as well. I have my final punch list and I will be calling the team at Handyman tomorrow.

He did install a ceiling fan, it was ok, but not great. I asked him to take some branches down and he didn't do that. I don't remember any particular reason that he didn't. I expected the branches to be cut down when I came home and they weren't. On the plus side he was upfront with me that he didn't. He repaired a banister for me and patched the drywall around it, and I was definitely happy with that. Their rate was quite high as well. Bob Sampson was not the handyman who came out, it was one of his employees.

Excellent service. We were preparing our house for selling and needed to get the jobs done very quickly. They were able to have someone here within a day, and the person was very knowledgable and skilled. All work was performed perfectly, with excellent clean-up and finishing. The work was professional, since the handyman was a professional. And Mark was punctual, polite, and easy to have in the house.I highly recommend this service.

Mark (the painter and carpenter) arrived exactly at 12:00 noon, as agreed to, and got to work. He painted my shed, hung shutters and artwork, fixed trim and fixed my hose. He was fast, professional , neat, considerate and knowledgeable - with good suggestions for some other issues and questions I had. Very professional company , easy to deal with, and detailed in thier work. It was a great experience from start to finish.

It was a very good experience and I was very impressed with them. They were just very good, very efficient, he showed up on time, and he did a great job. I was very happy.

Our serviceman Mark was extremely cordial, professional, and worked quite diligently. It's about $80/hr with some additional service fees, coming out to about $300 for the 3 hours he spent doing the 2 jobs. He brought some hardware with him, but for the wall mount I had to run to the hardware store to pick up some wall-anchors. All in all, good experience. I'd use them again for a project I'd prefer not to botch myself.
