The work was performed very promptly and professionally. The workman was very pleasant and chores were completed that I just was not getting around to or which required tools that I don't really want to buy. Highly recommend this service.

Due to weather, there were some issues with scheduling and rescheduling. My only surprise was the cost of material -- if I had the list of what was need could have had everything there and ready at a lower cost.

The installation was good overall, however there was a crack in the air conditioner covering after it was installed. The unit was new out of the box and since I did not see the serviceman break it, I couldn't prove it was his fault. I did see him struggle with the installation and can only assume that it occurred during this time. The wall patch was roughed in and while he claimed it was typical to put a 2nd application to prepare it for painting, I think it could have been finished a bit better.

Bob Sampson has always been prompt in his response to a request. He even personally returned a call on a Saturday. He did not provide services I needed that time but helped me locate the help I required. He is professional and always helpful. I have been fortunate to find Bob and Handyman Matters and Rich Bernhart ,who has done all the work described above. I sing their praises to my friends.

I purchased one of Angie's List Big Deals; two hours of labor for $89. I scheduled my appointment with Bob. He was very professional and courteous. For various reasons we had to reschedule a couple of times, but he was very understanding. The day of the appointment, the gentleman who did the work called when he was on his way. When he got to the house and I showed him what I wanted done, he said it was a straightforward job and would take about an hour. Unfortunately, through no fault of his own, the job turned out to be less than straightforward and a water pipe was punctured in the process. They immediately called a plumber who happened to be nearby and he was there within 15 minutes. The pipe was fixed, the mess cleaned up and the new microwave installed. All in about 2 hours. I was impressed with how they handled the unexpected turn of events. I would definitely hire them again.

I was pleased with my contact with them during the estimate phase, and they offered a competitive rate and offered to pick up necessary supplies and bill me at-cost, or alternatively I could pick up supplies they thought they'd use. I scheduled early on a weekday as to minimize the impact on my work schedule - which meant I was up earlier than usual to be ready to greet my handyman. However, a mere 15 minutes before they were scheduled to arrive, I received a call from the owner of Handyman Matters to inform me that my handyman would not be coming. He apologized, and told me that he would call me back as soon as he arrived in the office to reschedule. I never received that call, and I made one follow-up call that was never returned. Luckily, a neighbor was able to help me install the air conditioner in time for the severe heat-wave we experienced this summer.

The rep arrived on time (one minute early, actually). Rang the doorbell, discussed in detail what I wanted done, and went to work. He went out to buy what was needed first, didn't make a big deal of my not having the necessary stuff, such a relief! He'd call me outside once in a while to take a look for approval. I was not charged extra for those times. If you need handy work done around the house, inside or outside, I recommend these guys with full confidence. There is no hyping up the work you need, or the prices, no rubbish about what can't be done, no whining about how difficult it is, and how they may not be able to complete the job. They are straightforward, honest and hard working. Thank you Handyman Matters!

This was a very positive experience for us. Handyman Matter's workmanship was excellent. The gentleman who did the work did a very professional job. He offered an excellent suggestion to replace the trim with a vinyl replacement rather than wood. The area he had to replace was especially susceptable to ice and snow accumulation. The vinyl material, he told us, would last forever. We worried about the look but to be honest, it is as good or better than wood. We were extremely pleased with every aspect of the work and would hire him again without any hesitation.

They hung some top track for shelving. It went very well.

The guy showed up on time and the he was very professional. Their price was comparable and it was a good experience.

Scheduled service with Bob to be done on the 14th - was very happy with his response, quote and his plan. It seemed great until I waited an hour and a half for someone to show up (was over 2 hours late for work which was frustrating). My spouse called and Bob was pretty sure he'd let us know that he had to reschedule.... Bob called back when he was able to check and let us know that he must have forgotten to tell us they had to cancel the date of service. 2 weeks later he calls to see if we want to reschedule, after letting us know he failed to inform us the original date of service had to be cancelled and barely made an effort to apologize or to express urgency in fixing the issue. I definitely didn't feel like rescheduling. He seemed nice, but the fact that I had to sit around waiting for someone to show up who wasn't planning to be at my home in the first place was extremely unprofessional. My advice would be to call the day before to make sure someone is planning to be at your house!

I used this company twice--once through an Angie's list big deal and once on my own. I had a very good experience with this company. They arrived on time, did the work competently, and were pleasant to deal with. They are a little expensive at $85 an hour. But I am completely satisfied with the work.

Mark, the handyman who came out to do the job for me, was terrific. Such a pleasant guy, and he did such a good job. I would thoroughly recommend Mark, and Handyman Matters, to other people looking for Handyman services.

Fantastic! The man who came to our house, Mark, was a true professional and craftsman. He walked through each item that we wanted done to understand what we were looking for, and offered suggestions. He even noted some areas that we had not seen, like the front door not being installed properly, or the screen door on the sunroom being warped. Mark was prompt, clean, and highly professional. As the job expanded to add more items, Bob worked with us to free up Mark's schedule to come back and finish up by our move-in date. Great company & great people - a definite to have on your speed dial for any house projects!

It was easy to contact this company and schedule a visit. Very responsive. The worker was here right on time--maybe a few minutes early--as scheduled. The worker was pleasant, efficient, and very skilled. For example, we had thought the locking mechanism on the back door, which would not lock because the two parts did not meet, needed to be remounted. But, upon inspection, the worker noticed that the hinge was a bit loose, and tried that approach first. It solved the problem. The worker checked with me at various times, as he approached each of the tasks on my list, to make sure he understood exactly what I wanted to have done. (He did, but it's good to check, anyway.) All hooks were mounted where we stipulated, and the work was done well. The worker analyzed the swinging door and gave a verbal estimate of what it would cost to take it off and to the shop to remove the remaining paint and stain, and make the door stopping mechanism work again. The worker said he'd sweep up the sawdust (from sawing off ends of the kitchen table), but I said I was going to vacuum, anyway, and could do that. All in all, everything went splendidly, from start to finish.

i purchased 2 hours of handyman service for $89 via a big deal.. 2 guys arrived on time and worked in tandem for 1 hour, ticking off items on my list faster than I could have imagined. They were professional, polite and very efficient. (date is approximte)

They were great, they showed up when they said they would, they did nice work. They were very professional throughout the process.

I had an old wooden play structure that I wanted removed. I called Handyman Matters and Bob explained how the structure would be dismantled and the debris placed in a small dumpster. He was able to send a handyman within a few days and the work was done quickly and the area was left tidy. I really appreciated that the night before the handyman was due to arrive, he called me to confirm and left his cell phone number in case I needed to reach him directly. I also appreciated that he bought the small dumpster at the hardware store and explained to me how to set up its removal online. Lastly, I appreciated that Bob called a few days later to tell me I overpaid and he sent me a check for the difference. Everyone was polite and efficient and I will definitely use them again.

The work was done on time and to my liking, and the service person was friendly and professional. I would definitely use this company again.

Quick, pleasant, professional

Bud was great. He was very professional and easy to talk to about what was needed. He (and all the handymen I've used from Handyman Matters) has worked the construction business and so has a working knowledge of projects. He knew what to do, how to do it, and what equipment was needed. He was thorough and cleaned up after himself. It was a pleasure working with him.

The gentleman who did the estimate was very responsive, nice and seemed knowledgeable. I arranged w/ Bob Samson the particulars (wood type, etc.). The morning the job started, I met the carpenter. Bud, Bert (?)...he wasn't exactly thrilled with being there. I thought, if the work is good - I can deal with his sour attitude. When I returned from work, I could not believe what I saw...I would've gotten the same results if I'd followed a "How Do It" on youtube! Really? I am still trying to download the photos from my phone but until then: #1 The carpenter did not know the wood type, etc! - Had Bob and he had actually spoken about the job - beyond the exchange of my address? #2 Where the stairs met the porch was very uneven - NOT level AT ALL! - The stringers were pushing up boards on the deck and causing them to bow. - I'm aware that things might not be perfect but c'mon, this was AWFUL! #3 One riser was 2 pieces rather than 1 board - Why? $? Not good for the board longevity & just bad workmanship. #4 The stairs were not uniform! - The treads weren't & the width of the boards was different on each step. - It just looked BAD & the gaps in b/w them varied b/w steps A LOT. #5 The front porch was covered in wood chips... - Really? It literally would have taken 2 minutes to sweep it off the porch but it was left for the tenants to track into the house when they get their mail. The work was done ON THE CHEAP and boy did it look it! I immediately called Bob and told his answering service to cease & desist the work until I spoke to him. He called later that evening and came by to inspect the job - days later. I pointed out the above issues to him...in case he missed the obvious. I said that this was my home and these stairs were just bad. I asked one question: would he put these on his home? The silence was deafening and he a bit curtly offered to have someone else come by and do it next week or he could have it removed & be done. Period. After a bad night's sleep I told him to get his stuff and go which was done the next day...The bag of wood from the stairs remained on my lawn killing the grass for 4 days. Not a good experience AT ALL & really shakes any faith that I had an Angie's List. I'm just happy I didn't put down a deposit. I realize that I am not a carpenter but I can unequivocally say that it was BAD workmanship. Word of mouth from a friend/family is the ONLY safe way to go in my book...
