I have worked with Handyman Matters several times over the past few years. I have always had a good experience. Their employees are always pleasant, professional and knowledgeable. Most recently I hired them to repair some rot that I had noticed on some of my windowsills. The owner came out to scope out the work. While he was there he pointed out some additional areas of concern. The estimate was reasonable so I scheduled the work. The start of the project got delayed by rain, but they called to let me know and we rescheduled. The carpenter showed up on time ready to get to work. Everything went smoothly. He cleaned up after himself and the final bill was reasonably close to the original estimate. I am already putting together a list of other projects for them to tackle in the fall.

Overall we had a very good experience. My call was answered almost immediately (that alone puts these guys above the rest), the person who answered was very knowledgeable and worked with me to understand our needs. We have an old house that needs lots of attention and Bob was able to talk to me about how they would approach the problems. We decided to start with a relatively small project first so we could get to understand the process and get to know the people. A previous visit from an electrician had left numerous holes in several walls and ceilings. Handyman Matter's technician came in and patched all of the holes, blending them in to the walls so everything was perfectly smooth. Matching the different paints was a challenge. We had old cans of some of the colors in the basement, but not everything. Tom took the time to sort through the old paint cans, figure out what was useable, and then went to the paint store to get everything else. In some cases he was able to just paint the patched areas, other rooms he had to paint the entire wall. Bottom line is that everything came out looking great! We will definitely be calling Handyman Matters again. They were responsive, professional, qualified and reasonably priced.

Bob was quick and responsive initially, and quickly came out with a quote. We had a bit of back and forth regarding options and pricing (wood railing vs PVC, etc.), but it was settled fairly easily, and we moved forward with the job, which was scheduled to take 3-4 days. The complete list of work was: Remove old porch railing, roof posts and wooden lattice, replace roof posts with PVC covered posts, replace porch railing with a PVC railing, replace the damaged section of the lattice, build a lattice gate on one side to provide access under the stairs, and scrape and repaint the stairs. In it's entirety, the job took 3 weeks, including multiple days of the workman not being scheduled to show up, or him showing up fairly late in the day. The work that he did is generally ok, though the railing that was installed was not the (nicer) version in the original quote that we wanted but a more basic version that we didn't particularly want. In addition, during the delays, Bob was not super responsive. The end result is ok (minus the railing not being the one we had wanted) but the process was a bit painful.

It was horrible, I really thought these guys would be professional but I guess I learnt the hard way. This person took longer time then what I had initially gotten from other contractors. Before the job, the owner had told me they would be able to complete the job in 4 hours. I ended up paying more for a handyman then what a general contractor had quoted for the job. Additionally, they asked for a mark up fee to purchase the materials, which is mentioned no where on their posting and was never brought up before me scheduling with them. I have to pay the guy hourly to go buy the material which is $90 /hr, pay the mark up on the items purchased, and also pay the trucking fee. Absolutely insane!! I would not recommend these guys to anyone and will never use them again.

Overall it went well and I would recommend Handymen Matters. The quality of work was solid. Bob quoted the job and Chris did the work. His commute was really long so he didn't often start before 10 or 11 and would mostly work 1/2 days due to late start or in to go on to another job. What I wish I realized before was that there was a per visit charge of $40 so a bunch of half days ended up costing me more than if it was a few 8 hour days. He did stay the full day til 6:00 in order to finish the project so we could list the house which I appreciated. On future contracting work I will attend more to the details of daily fees and how work schedules are decided.

Except having Bob, the owner, does up in time for viewing the property, the rest of it went to. We were quite surprised at Bob's rudeness and unprofessionalism. He seemed completely disinterested throughout his first visit. He spoke to us rudely as we agreed him ' first time home buyer' stupid questions and his grumpy self hardly showed any optimism. I kinda knew that I was wasting my time with him but since he was the very first contractor I ever met, I didn't judge him right away. Funny that he even said he will get back with quotes in a few days since we both knew he won't. Obviously, he didn't and I never followed up because he seemed a bit strange (may be because we look different ... Why else!!!). I wouldn't have considered him anyway even if his price was good. Surprised that this company has nice reviewes. Anyhow, I met a lot of much, much nicer and professional contractors and am very happy with their work.

I had Handyman Matters install the carport I purchased from Home Depot. It required the pouring of 6 footings and construction of the metal frame and then sliding in clear plastic roof sections and screwing them down, then caulking the gutters. I was told this whole process was supposed to take 2 days during the last week in October. The project didn't start until the second week of November and took 9 days. I realize there was a holiday weekend in the middle of the process but by then the days had gotten cold and dark early. At the end I had to remove my own trash, and lost my tarp that covered the carport boxes for over a month in my yard in the process. The carport looks good but I have to caulk the gutters it myself. I was not offered an Angie's list discount and I have used Handyman matters before. The job is done and that is what counts.

I consider Handyman Matters to be a very professional provider. Communication about the job was very clear, the carpenter was on time and the work was completed to my satisfaction. I will definitely call them for future needs.

Excellent -- the carpenter took 3 days to complete both jobs. He listened to my requests, and used his time efficiently. He even returned some unused materials and gave me the credit.

We hired on an hourly basis. They were responsive and handyman arrived on time. Was not able to install somethings that needed drilling through the tile but were charged for the time it took to figure out that he didn't know how to install it. It was steep at $99/HR. Some of the things done towards end of scheduled time, were done in bit of a hurry. The towel rod came off within 2 weeks.

A little tough getting going regarding scheduling this small project. But once the carpenter arrived he did an excellent job. I appreciated Handyman using the wood piece I provided and also the carpenter's report that he reinforced under the new wood piece to strengthen the floor.

Scheduling was very easy. Bob is very responsive and attentive. The handyman was punctual and finished jobs quickly and efficiently. Very happy with the whole experience and will definitely use again.

It went very well ! Brian was very helpful in regard to seeing the overall picture of the apartment. He helped me recognize that was I thinking how i would want the portent to be, as opposed to letting the renters customize it themselves.

Brian did an AWESOME job with our kitchen backsplash replacement. Looks great. He was always careful and clean. And he even gave us advice on how to make it look its best. We're thrilled with the service and will definitely call again. Thanks!

They were responsive in providing estimate and able to fit us in quickly. They communicated about when they would arrive and were punctual. Scott did a great job and made the repairs in a more cost effective way.

The customer rep wanted to schedule the job ("do you think the job will take 2 or 4 hours?"). I told her that I had no idea that is why I needed someone to come by to assess the job, give me a timeline, and a quote. She is going to pass on the info. My interaction did not inspire great confidence.

Went very well. The man who did the work was professional and very skilled. The steps look great, are very strong and don 't need painting every other year. Great!

They are dependable , they do the job needed. They come on time.

It very well. They had to put the wall back after they took it out. They were a little bit late, but they called once.

They are great. I have used them several times. I am actually figuring out what to do to have them come again. I have to have a certain amount of work that they can do. One guy in particular I always request because he is just great. I love this company. The company is excellent. Everything is done in a timely manner. The prices are reasonable. The personnel, the boss and the handyman themselves, are all excellent. The workers are all great. I know I am sounding enthusiastic, but that is how I feel about them.

They never called for the billing, they just left. They did a great job. I plan to use them again.

Work was done timely and great solutions were used. Brian was very creative and incredibly capable. Also, the final painting, "make up' work and cleaning was done very well. Will definitely gather new projects and give them a call again.

It went excellent. Brian, the gentleman who came, (Whom I never met) did a fantatsic job. I just left the keys in a predetermined location as I live in a differnt town. This was the house I grew up in which I was finally selling. From an email i sent to "Handyman Matters" "Dear Sirs, I just want to give kudos for a job well done. Brian did a fantastic job with all the various tasks I was needing help for. First off, when I pulled into the driveway Saturday and saw that my old attic door was in the yard, I was happily surprised. Wasn't something I would have expected Brian (or anyone for that matter) to do. Figured he would take the parts off the door & just leave it in the attic, but he went the extra mile!!! Second, I also had brought some paint with me to paint the new attic door (as I had a feeling since it was an odd size), Brian would have to just buy a plain door & cut to dimensions. Again I was surprised in that Brian had actually painted the door!!! Again that was above and beyond IMHO. Plus he did a great job on the door itself. Finally, he also finished caulking the bathroom upstairs and at first I didn't notice. but he also applied some touch up paint to the tub (which it was very much in need of). It really made a heck of a difference and again he went above and beyond. The bathroom presents much better becaiue of that. The many other tasks he did a great job on as well. I found your company on Angies list & I am very glad I did!" All the work executed was very well done and helped me out greatly as I was in the process of preparing to sell the house. Even my Real Estate Agent was impressed with the quality of the work.

It was fine. They were great! They let me work on it with them, so I could be involved. I was doing most of the job by myself and leaving them the most challenging parts of it. So it was nice.
