the installation of the granite counter top went well.

I visited their showroom and saw a tub surround display. I told them I wanted exactly what was in the display. It was corian walls and ceiling with 4" corian trim and 8" corian radius corners. I also negotiated with them to also remove existing drywall and install new drywall in the tub area. About week before the installation I recieved a phone call telling me that the corner radiuses where not available in the color I wanted. The color was to be the same as the trim. I didn't understand why the trim was available but not the radius corners. I failed to ask that question. I chose to have the corner radius the same color as the walls (white with other colors mixed in) with the soap dishes in the same color as the trim as suggested by the sales person. They arrive on the first day to remove my existng walls and install new drywall. We had some discussion about the ceiling. My ceiling had popcorn paint on it. The sales person had advised me that that corian would not stick to a popcorn ceiling. When I questioned the installers they said it was fine and would be no problem. They left. That evening I removed the popcorn paint from my ceiling with paint remover. The following morning the installers arrive to install the corian. When they saw that I had removed the popcorn ceiling they advised that the drywall wasn't dry and the corian would not stick to the ceiling. They advised that I should have them remove the existing plaster ceiling and install drywall. I agreed and there was an incremental charge of $300.00 to remove the plaster ceiling and install the drywall. The then installed the corian walls and ceiling on the second day of installation. They came back on the third day to install the trim. As they installed the trim I knew something didn't look right but I could identify what it was, so I said nothing. The trim was installed and I paid them the balance due and they left. Several days later I went back to the showroom to get a piece of the corian so I could match up paint. Upon looking at the display I immediately realize the difference. The trim on the display was 4 inches wide and my trim was 1 1/2 inches wide. When I questioned them about it they said they didn't know why my trim wasn't the same and they needed to check with the installers. I called back the next day and complained that I had been baited and switched. They advised that they would come out and install new trim. When the installer arrive with the same 1 1/2 inched trim they had originally installed I knew I wasn't getting my 4 inch trim. The installer said they never install 4 inch trim and they couldn't guantee that they could pull off the exisitng trim without damaging the wall or the newly installed corian. Also something about my walls not being right. They could however install some trim around the corner radius to give them more definition. I decided to cut my losses and have them install trim aound the corner radius. I also now didn't trust them to remove the old trim with care. Botton line is I didn't get what I thought I was paying for. My bathroom does not have the look I wanted and thought I was paying for.
