Really great work. Unlike so many other contractors out there nowadays, Randy's communication was excellent, and scheduling was super smooth. Showed up right on time, got the work done quickly, and everything looked great!

RB Skimcoat did the plastering work for our new family room. I can’t speak highly enough about Randy and his team. They did exceptional work – the walls and ceilings look great! They were timely, courteous, and very respectful of being in our home. If you are looking for the cheapest price for the work, RB Skimcoat, is not that, but they are not competing on price (note that they are also not the highest price out there). They are competing on the quality of their work and are also set up as a real business (so proper insurance, etc. are in place). Their prices were very fair for the work they did and I would have them back in a heartbeat for any future work we may need. Highly recommend!!

I worked with RB Skimcoat Plastering & Drywall in November 2023 and highly recommend them. Randy was wonderful to work with - he communicated very well and often before and during the process, always kind and courteous, and answered my questions in a very timely manner with a lot of helpful information. My old horse hair plaster walls had been heavily textured over. Our original plan was for Randy and his team to overly the walls with drywall, however, we decided to change plans when it became clear that the end result wouldn't be what I was looking for. Randy did not hesitate and changed plans easily - they ended up skim coat plastering over my walls and giving them a perfectly smooth surface/finish! I still can't believe it! They also took down my old drop tile ceiling and installed a beautiful drywall ceiling. I am beyond happy with the end result and plan to work with Randy and his team again for future projects.

Excellent work quality, the job was removing the old sheetrock, allowing the electric work by others, installing insulation and plaster board, skimcoat and painting. They came when they promised and completed on time. Highly recommend the company

RB Skimcoat did great job.

Ok, knowing that this will sound a bit sappy, please bear with me. I hired what I thought was a reputable company to work in my home. I got completely screwed over, and was left to try to find someone who would fix my nightmare. Enter Randy and his crew. They treated me with compassion and promised that they would fix everything in the manner of which it should have been done to begin with. It was kind of a “close your eyes, pray they are for real” kind of deal. Having been so badly burned by what I thought was a reputable company, it took a leap of faith. When I tell you that Randy is the real deal, I really can’t overstate this. Saying he’s restored my faith in contractors is the God’s honest truth. Noone wants to fix someone else’s screw ups. But Randy accepted the challenge. I now have walls that are ready to be painted. I only wish RB Skimcoat was an option when I first asked for quotes here on Angi. Would have saved myself lot of heartache if I knew of them from the start. I am forever in their debt. They fixed my nightmare and I will certainly never hire anyone else to do plastering in my old house in the future.

Perfect! Randy and his assistant were fast and efficient. They took EXTRA care to protect carpets and all furnishings. I highly recommend them and will definitely be hiring them back again!

Randy exceeded my expectations! We tore down a wall to make 2 rooms into 1 room. After he was finished you would have never known there was a wall there before. He blended the 2 ceilings into one beautifully! Highly recommend!

I have used RB Skimcoat a few times for plaster work. Randy (owner) is responsive and does excellent work. I plan to continue to use them for any future plastering related needs.

Plaster came out amazing!

Short version do not hire Randy Berube of RB Skimcoat. Long version is below This company subbed out the work we contracted to them without notice, no phone call or heads up, just some random guys showed up not knowing anything about the site. The sub contractor then walked off the job because it wasn't what they bid. Our jobsite has been significantly delayed. The owner Randy is never available by phone to resolve any issues, provide guidance to those subs that showed up etc. We even tried to resolve the sub issue by negotiating with the sub to pay them for the bid gap same day but Randy was unreachable to finalize, sub walked. He texted us later that night "How dare we try to hire his sub directly", just crazy. He required a huge deposit on a labor only job and was one of those guys who would then call with excuse after excuse after we are already tied into a contract, delay delay delay. Randy the Owner, once called asking for more deposit money just so he could get his truck fixed in order to supposedly be able to stay on schedule, and us idiots paid it to help him out and in the hopes of keeping things moving smoothly. Fast forward through continued miscommunications unreturned phone calls, more delays, now he's stuck on a "major job" says he's overwhelmed and can't make it, but he'll get back to us when he knows more...... We then requested a cancellation of the contract only to get presented with an invoice now charging for bid time, one of the bid times was when he met us to get a larger deposit so he could fix his truck, can't make this stuff up, time spent by subs who walked off the site an hour after arriving. We even agreed to getting our deposit slashed by over 60% just to be done with it. When asked to be refunded the remaining 40% we were told the money had been spent already. When we asked what it had been spent on, this job was labor only no materials, he told us that because we gave him the deposit back in September that other jobs had consumed it and that he would pay us when he could "maybe" in the next couple of weeks but that he didn't know right now. Mind you, he hasn't answered the phone in over two weeks, will only annoyingly text. Unbelievable!! Don't make the same mistake we did. Do not hire RB Skimcoat - Owner Randy Berube, and keep an eye out for new ads using the # 978x930x947x2.
