Our experience with the Cutting Edge Stoneworks has been great. We've worked with Laura and Karen several times and have had a great experience with them each time. The installations went smooth and they beat the other quotes we got. Laura is one of the owners and It's obvious she's been in this business for a very long time. She's very enthusiastic about her business and making her clients happy. They have a great variety of granite right on site and were very helpful with helping us decide what material to use. We were also very happy with not having to wait the typical 10 days that the other Granite stores required. We will continue to recommend them.
Description of Work: Provided new Granite Counter tops in our Kitchen and 2 bathrooms for our home as well as for several of our clients.

We have generally had wonderful encounters with providers from Angie's List (see our other reviews) but have been disappointed by our experience w/ Cutting Edge Stoneworks and its owner, Mr. John Phinney. He has refused to stand by his work; after five years of dealing with this issue, we are now forced to pay another company to re-install and repair his countertop. We hired Mr. Phinney's company to install our granite in May 2008. Several problems were evident from the outset, including sloppy caulking and holes in the sink's silicone seal, but at our insistence the company addressed most of these. In 2010 the seam between two granite sections broke twice, and both times we managed to get the company to repair it. However, in 2012 it broke again, at which point Mr Phinney told us it was not his problem. Not only did the granite seam require multiple repairs, but arranging visits was terribly frustrating, owing to multiple unreturned phone calls, no-shows, last-minute cancellations, etc. When the seam first cracked, Mr. Phinney's own employees told us the granite needed further support, which they tried to rectify using a 2x4. Later, Mr. Phinney blamed the cracked seam on a variety of other possible causes, e.g., our 1926 house was settling on its foundation. We had a structural engineer inspect our house prior to buying in 2006; our house is stable. He also suggested that our solid-wood cabinets are the culprit. Other granite installers have evaluated our problem, and they have confirmed our cabinets are sound. Moreover, they all agree that responsibility for the countertop repair should fall to Mr. Phinney. Mr. Phinney feels too much time has passed for him to take any responsibility. In his own words from a recent email, and quot; The first time this happened, we came to your home and re-glued the seam at no charge to you even though we were under no obligation to do so. We are certainly not under any obligation four years after the counter top was installed.and quot; We bought this granite countertop as a lifetime investment. A word of advice for customers like us: Find a granite installer who is willing to stand by his work for longer than a year or two.

After meeting with Karen and Laura in their office to review the color options, they were very friendly and helpful in helping me choose the right color and markings to match my current color and wood details in my kitchen. As always, I was hoping for a fast turnaround time in order to keep my project going. They were very happy to oblige. Ross came out to template my kitchen. He was also friendly and very efficient with his time; quick in/quick out. They were able to install the counter the normal industry expectations (although at the last minute, I needed to push it a few days). They were very flexible and willing to work with me at all levels. I had made a couple requests that may have been considered as overly and quot;pickyand quot; by many but they did it without a hassle and did it well. I had my counters installed today. It was refreshing to see the same person who templated the counter be the one to install it. To me, that meant that care would have been taken during the templating process to ensure the installation went well. I very much liked this company and would DEFINITELY recommend them to anyone else. If I had to come up with any criticism, there would only be 1...When I went in to the warehouse to review counter color options, the lighting was not a good example of what people might have in their homes. I understand it would be hard to emulate every possible scenario but I think there could be some improvements. That said, they were very willing for me to take as many samples as I needed to evaluate things in my and quot;real worldand quot;; which in my mind was a much way to go about choosing the and quot;rightand quot; stone.
Description of Work: After receiving a good review by word of mouth, I went to Cutting Edge Stoneworks in need of design assistance, templating and installation of a total of 4 pieces of granite counter in my kitchen totaling 21 feet.

The job went great. Once I figured out the time frame they were ready for me. I went to their show room on a Saturday to pick out the stone, they send someone out on a Tuesday to template and them the counter tops were installed and sealed the following Wednesday. So it only took 12 days start to finish! This is faster than any other company I contacted and the price was very competitive. Everyone at the company was professional and the owners were extremely responsive. I was very please with the work and the professionalism. The counter tops look really wonderful -even better than I expected.
Description of Work: Honed Granite Counter Tops were install in my kitchen and dining room. The area covered was 33.14 square feet.

I originally found The Cutting Edge when I was hoping to repair the bad stone in my kitchen. John made several visits to my home to assess the problem and try to come up with a solution. When we determined that wasn't going to work, I had absolute confidence in him. He was very willing to answer any and every question I had and address my concerns. My install went without a hitch. John and Laura and their employees were more responsive than any contractor with whom I've dealt in the last two years. I can't say enough good things about my experience with this business. Responsive, informative AND great work product. Would highly recommend this as a first and last stop if you are looking for granite or other stone.
Description of Work: Replaced a bad countertop installed by another retailer. (See previous report).
