 + -1 moreFrom what I can gather the installer did not inform the company that he did the work because when I needed assistance a year later about flooding where the sump pump empties, I did not get a call back. When I did finally get in touch with someone they were not able to locate my records in their files. It seems as if there is a lot of funny business going on with this company.
Description of Work: They installed a french drain in my basement.

 + 0 moreWhen I started asking for details, they started blowing me off. I asked for a different salesperson, that would understand my need for details.. I was directed to the Sales Manager. They didn't return my calls or I would get blown off. Their communication between departments is horrendous. I told them I wanted to postpone till the Spring. They started to be rude to me, and have caused me to not want to do this at all. When I told them I was canceling the whole thing, the sales manager made me go through an exit interview to get my deposit back. It took them seven weeks and nine phone calls before I could get my money back. It was horrible. So many red flags!!! They offered no warranties on their service and their literature had no details.
Description of Work: They were supposed to put in a new sup pump and a new humidifier.

 + -1 more1. cost was high, in retrospect I should have gotten other bids first |2. high pressure to sign contract on the spot |3. they drilled into a waste drainage pipe from our bathroom without sealing it, and the next morning we had waste draining into our garage. They responded quickly but did a shoddy job in fixing the issue. I had plumbers on hand for another job who ended up fixing the issue. |4 I felt that they made my house issues larger than they really are/were in order to get me to sign the contract |they were very nice but it was all about the sale. I will not recommend them.

 + 0 moreThe person who came out to do an estimate was not very impressive. He seemed like a bit of a pushy salesman, with a "discount" if I signed a contract quickly (I think by the end of the month, I can't remember exactly), in fact when I didn't follow up with them he called me back, claiming that he could give me a lower price. I went with another company and have been happy with the work.

 + -1 moreThe guy that did the job was very helpful and very dedicated to doing a good job. The communication could have been better between the salesman that originally came out and the guy who came to do the work because he didn't have all the information he needed. Ultimately he got the correct information and he was very motivated to making it all a good outcome. The work looks very good.

 + -1 moreSee above. My sense is that pretty much all the waterproofing companies charge about the same for the work; we got three or four estimates and they came within a few hundred dollars of one another. Very close.
Description of Work: I called Basement Technologies for an estimate waterproofing my basement, which is actually half of the full perimeter (it's a side by side two-family). They are the only company in the area who was willing to offer a lifetime guarantee for a partial perimeter job, because they have a modular system which can be placed anywhere around the edge of your property. Unfortunately, I was less than impressed with the way the company gave an assessment/estimate. One guy, fairly inexperienced, came out and gave one estimate; when he came back to bring me the contract, he brought "his supervisor", who explained that they had neglected to factor in some aspect of the job, and raised the estimate by $2000. Ultimately my neighbors decided to do their half of the basement as well, so we went with a conventional system (found contractor through Angie's List).

 + -1 moreIt was a great experience. The workmen were polite and courteous. The bill was exactly what the estimate was.
Description of Work: Joe and his crew arrived at the scheduled time and installed a sub floor system. They installed a water trek aqua route to a sump pump. The sump pump discharges through a freeze stop pipe which leads about 30 feet from my house to a bubbler pot. They completed 110 linear feet of pipe installation in about 6 hours. This included jack hammering my basement floor, removing the old concrete as well as some gravel, installing the "pipe", and re- concreting the floor. They came back on a second day to install the outside pipe. By the end of the second day you could not tell that they had been there. The entire crew worked to keep my yard, driveway and basement clean. The amount of dust in my house was less than minimal. I did not find any gravel or concrete outside in my yard or in my basement. The floor was swept and they covered my belongings in the basement. There were some shelves that needed removing, which the crew did, and then reinstalled. It was a wonderful experience and I would hire them again if I move and need the basement waterproofed.
