+ -1 moreExtremely poor or no communication after first payment and when communication occurred we wasted more than 68 hours of our time waiting for occurrences that never happened - such as delivery of materials, start time, etc. Plastic or vinyl drip edges installed instead of metal called for. Shrubs and landscaping not protected - still removing old tiles from bushes. some debris still blowing off roof. Only good thing so far is there is no apparent leaking from the roof. But haven't checked it completely.
Description of Work: Removed old roofing shingles & replaced with GAF 30 Year shingles & all GAF materials.Signed contract on May 18, 2006 With Sales Director Ken Lutz & presented check for $1600. Work to start after June 5, 2006. Poor to no communication. Phone calls & e-mails, more than a dozen unanswered until July 14, 2006 after I filed a complaint with the MASS Atty General on July 10, 2006. Without prior notice, two (2 men) appeared to start July 26, 2006. Actual roofing started that day (& second chk for $1600 given) and completed on July 31, 2006 (Third chk for $1600 given)when dumpster was removed. No permit obtained, Rain diverter not installed until Sept 1, 2006, small amounts roofing trash all over the yard & bushes for months, Vent installation left considerable amt of trash in attic, No GAF warranty & no PERMIT obtained as of this date (Nov 13, 2006)- although a diverter (not one described ''Inverted V'' but a cheaper one. All of above was called out specifically in contract.

+ -1 moreBefore we signed the contract Ryan Roofing gained our confidence with their experience and claims they were no "Peter pick-up". Also when it came time for the work to be done, they forgot an oral agreement to install a new dormer, raised a quoted price for skylight installation and subcontracted to a "Peter pick-up" company! Now our roof looks shabby in several places and leaks at the chimney. Had we gone directly to the sub-contractor we would have paid half as much. We paid a premium for an illusion of experience and dependability. Don't make the same mistake!
Description of Work: New asphalt shingle roof on 3 story Victorian.
