His rented crane & operator arrived punctually at 7AM as promised but he & crew did not arrive until 830. When the crane left after 8 hours at 3PM we got 1.5 hours less crane time than he had planned on and we had paid for. Consequently less of the trees came out overhead and more had to be dragged out the next work day, for a big increase in lawn damage. He promised to be back the following work day but did not show up and did not call us. We had rearranged other contractors' time to facilitate his work so they lost that day also. Never having called us back, he arrived the next day and completed the work -- but not according to spec. Our contract said grind & clean 3 stumps: he ground them and shoved the debris further back in the yard, did not remove it. His bucket truck stretched a telephone wire so that it hung 4 feet from the ground, but he made no effort to fix it and left it tied high in a tree. He left the premises without asking about our satisfaction or a final walk through.
