These folks ruined my bedroom carpet (which cost me more than six thousand dollars) and then denied any responsibility. I wish I had read the reviews on Angie's list before using them.

SHORT STORY: They NO SHOWED, Rescheduled for a week later, then asked to Reschedule for 6 weeks later. FULL STORY: I called The Maids to get a quote on cleaning the common stairway of our triple decker condo building. I had used them in the passed to clean my entire unit and I had the carpet cleaned in two rooms. I figured I would go back to them. When I called them they told me I would get a call back from the company they use to clean carpet (Serve Pro). I scheduled the service for Thurs at 5:30pm. I waited until 6:30pm and never heard from anyone. Not until the next morning did I get a call with an apology. They told me they were stuck on another job and had left my contact info at the office. I figured I'd give them another chance to redeem their terrible customer service, so I rescheduled the service for the following Wed at the same time. I got a call that morning saying they had overbooked and would have to reschedule again for a time 6 WEEKS later. At that point I said "No thank you" and started looking for someone else.
Description of Work: I wanted to have two flights of carpeted stairs cleaned.

I received a call from the Mariana asking if it was possible to come at 10:30. I called her back & said it wouldn't be easy since I just woke up, but that if that's the best they could do, that would be fine. An hr later, I called the office to ask where the maids were & never received a response. I called the office 5 times & left a message once. I finally reached a person at the office & a team member called my cell phone telling me they would be arriving a 1/2 hr later. They finally arrived at my place 1 1/2 hrs later when I was specifically told they would have to come at 10:30 or not clean my place at all today. I have requested to speak with the mgr a few times but each time I have not been put through to speak with her. Due to my experience with punctuality & responsiveness, I ll not be using them again. The maids arrived at 12:05. They were efficient & did a good job cleaning my otherwise messy apartment, but I feel there should be a discount involved because of my experience.
Description of Work: I just moved into my apartment and wanted a large rug cleaned as well as the surrounding areas. They were scheduled to vacuum and do an all-around first cleaning for the 1.5 baths and 1 bedroom.

I don't recall about this even from 2007. I stopped using Angie's list and was never notified about this posting. In regards of arrival time, we usually give a window of arrival because it is really hard to determine exactly when a job will be done and go to the next one. I am glad that you were satisfied with the quality of cleaning we provided.

I was displeased with the service. The cleaning crew did a mediocre job, and forgot to clean the oven and on top of the fridge. We were inconvenienced by a return visit to rectify the problem, only to have the crew forget to bring their own oven cleaning product. They had to borrow mine. The owner had the nerve to argue with me about how long the crew spent cleaning the apartment and then very aggressively demanded a check on the spot. When I informed her that my wife had the check book and would be mailing her a check, she persisted and questioned why I couldn't write a check. My wife called her later that day and paid in full. I would not do business with this organization again.

I AM SORRY THAT YOU ARE DISPLEASED WITH OUR SERVICE. I RUN MY BUSINESS IN GOOD FAITH AND NEVER THOUGHT YOU STILL WERE NOT SATISFIED AFTER THE EXTRA CLEANING THAT WE DID AT NO ADDITIONAL COST. TO CLARIFY, IN OUR INITIAL VISIT WE WERE THERE FOR OVER TWO HOURS AND YOU WERE ONLY CHARGED FOR ONE HOUR. I DID NOT FORGET THE OVEN CLEANER, THE CONDITION OF THE OVEN WAS EXTREMELY DIRTY AND BY THE TIME I ASKED YOU IF YOU HAD AN OVEN CLEANER, IT WAS AFTER WE HAD ALREADY FINISHED THE ONE WE BROUGHT WITH US. IN NORMAL CONDITIONS, ONE BOTTLE SEEMS TO BE ENOUGH TO CLEAN AN OVEN, BUT NOT IN THIS CASE. SORRY FOR THE INCONVENIENCE. AFTER I CLEANED THE OVEN, I ASKED YOU TO COME UPSTAIRS AND TAKE A LOOK AT IT AND MADE SURE IT WAS TO YOUR SATISFACTION, AT THAT POINT YOU SAID “YES” IT WAS TO YOUR SATISFACTION, I DON’T UNDERSTAND WHEN YOU CHANGED YOUR MIND. AS I WAS LEAVING I ONLY ASKED TO BE PAID FOR THE JOB WE PROVIDED. THEN YOU MENTIONED THAT YOU WILL PAY WHEN THE INVOICE WAS DUE. WE RECEIVE PAYMENTS AFTER THE JOB IS COMPLETED AND I WAS EXPECTED TO GET MY PAYMENT THEN. AGAIN, I APOLOGIZE IF AFTER COMING BACK TO CLEAN THE OVEN AT NO EXTRA COST YOU WERE NOT SATISFIED. Horrible. Within two hours they had broken two valuable and important vases. Their work was mediocre. And I have lost a very important piece of artwork that survived two moves and a total rehab with no damage. Only two hours into this cleaning these idiots destroyed it.

Caleb Page and his wife Marianna run the best maid service operation in Boston. We had tried Merry Maids and Maid Pro but never got a consistent or satisfying job. When Caleb opened last year we decided to try a service one more time. What a difference! A well trained professional team showed up and thoroughly cleaned our entire home. They brought their own supplies and equipment and cleaned things that we didn't even know were dirty. They handle special requests without a problem. For example my wife likes Murphy's Oil for the hard wood floors. We now use them every two weeks.

The service was superb. They took an incredibly messy, dirty place filled with contractor sawdust, cat hair and general grime and made it spic and span for my wife returning home from Europe. Thanks to the maids it's a happy, clean homecoming and a great welcome back for my wife. I will be using them on a regular basis so we don't have to do the cleaning!
Description of Work: The company cleaned my entire Beacon street place in the back by after I was traveling for business a lot, and before my wife came home from Europe.
