Always pleasant interactions with staff. You can tell that they are proud of what they do and are genuinely invested in the company’s causes.

They come, they look at everything both downstairs in my tenants apartment and upstairs.? They put in brand new things that moderate the heat, brand new electric thermostats, and brand new bulbs that were better bulbs, more efficient bulbs.? The only thing that they wanted to do was something in the attic that would tear up something or do something and I said no I really not interested in doing that.? They were a little bit on the selling side but you could say no and they didn't obsess with what was going on. From there I had to go get a loan and I got that and the whole thing happened.? Unfortunately, the thing I was buying was not something they give discounts on but I did get 0% interest.? No cost for the energy audit and all that stuff that they put in was nothing. The were about a B because they kept trying to sell me on some stuff that I didn't want to do.? They weren't rude or anything and did not say if you don't do this something, something will happen.? But they were like, "you really should do blah, blah, blah," and I said, "no because I don't want you to rip up the floor".? I didn't want them to rip up the floors up there. My attic is a walk through attic. It just has a section in the middle which is full floor and I really don't rip up that and replace it with other stuff, I sorry I'm not doing it so that was it.? The quality seemed to be really good.? One guy talked a lot and the other guy actually did the work.? The guy that did the work did the work did a good job.? He just got there, he did it all, he did it all downstairs, he said, "hi, I replaced all the bulbs, I put in new thermostats, here's the instructions on how to use it," my tenants were very happy with it, no problems.? They were very good on responsiveness too, I just did not like the fact that they were doing some selling that I did not want.? It wasn't like things that were absolutely, positively necessary but I think they were supposed to have brought home some kind of selling deal for doing all that work and I just didn't do it. They were fine with punctuality, they showed up when they were supposed to, they answered my questions, honestly now I wished I had better questions.? I still don't like the selling part and there is a way they can do that without doing it the way they did it.? I would be glad to do one in the future.

I stayed with my oil dealer. The savings on the policy is tremendous. I believe the savings for the upcoming heating season should also be very favorable.

I think they are good. There website was down where you could not see their oil prices. They aren't a bad company, they just aren't on top of it. If their prices are good, I would use them again. They are good. Thank you for having an program where people can get a cheaper rate. Its a great service they provide. Its a group service. When you belong to this group, and its minimal to belong to it. The workers were great.

They come out every year. I have a contract with them. I keep reusing them every year. One guy comes out and it takes about 30 minutes. They do prompt dependable service.

They are significantly cheaper than the company we were using previously. They are cheap. The interactions with them must have been great, because my husband dealt with them. They deliver the oil and we don't need to ask them for it.

They're the best price around. They're a co-op, so you join the co-op, and they delegate your job to whichever heating oil company member does your area. I haven't had any problems with them. They're fine and they come before the tank runs out, which is the critical part. They know how big the house is, so they can estimate how much you'll use. They go out and fill the tank and leave a tag saying how many gallons they filled it up and what the price is. They always come out before you run out, but you could call them if you had to.

The discount per delivery was usually just under $10, and was forfeited if payment was not made within a pretty narrow window -- no good for a family that pays bills once, or even twice, a month. There is a hefty up-front charge/deposit as well. I'd rate the experience as so-so. In the end, not worth the hassle of switching from our long time oil supplier and technician.

All in all, as above, very happy with the Alliance. Plus, via Angie's list mention, get $25 off first delivery, so it ends up not costing you anything to be a member of Alliance (for the first year).

Went very well. They cannot guarantee a particular oil company, but did let me know if the oil company(ies) I had used in the past were part of their program. They were also helpful at recommending a particular company based on what I was looking for and the company they recommended has been excellent so far with prices below what I found on my own.

Mass Energy Consumer Alliance provides group based oil pricing with various local oil companies. There is a $25 fee per year for the service but it appears their group pricing will pay for its self. After submitting a application, I received a call from Mass Energy the next day asking if there were any questions, I then received a call from the supplied oil company to setup service. They are very pleasant and very responsive.

After working them for a few years, I am satisfied that they are doing the research necessary to ensure that I have below average oil fuel prices. I am pleased with their service.

After about five years with another company, I got tired of paying way above the state average for home heating oil. I was OK paying close to the state average.. and my old guy didn't have to be the cheapest, but they had to be competitive. You search for the cheapest gas price for your car, why not do the same for heating oil.. they're both basic commodities. So I signed up with Mass Energy. I made the decision to do so because their average price is 10-15% less than what I was paying when I did a same day comparison of what I was being charged and the price quoted on their website. Mass Energy got me set up with another dealer, and after two deliveries everything is going just fine. It you want to save money, and avoid the hassle of calling a bunch of oil delivery companies, give Mass Energy a try. But seriously - whether you try Mass Energy or not, don't waste five years the way I did overpaying for heating oil.

Overall it was fine, but I couldn't afford their rates.

Great - they know what they are doing. He walked through the house, looked at the attic, basement, thermostats and lights. Changed out whatever he could to more efficient units. He wrote up the listing of what the insulation company will need to do - 8 inches insulation, put in soffit vents, air seal the attic and hatch. By using the Mass Save Program we will have saved over $3,000 over having regular companies in to perform the same services.

I heard about Mass Energy while researching heating oil companies on Angie's list. It's a great deal. You pay a small annual fee and you join a consortium that helps reduce your annual fuel costs. You make up the cost of the membership with your first delivery! It's a no brainer. They also provide other helpful information about energy efficiency.

The membership fee pays for itself on the first delivery. They are very reasonably priced. My previous cooperative, based in NYC, charged $25 for a year's membership, and their oil company discount was nowhere near Mass Energy's. Even with cooperatives, you have to shop around. The only caution: when I joined, I was given the opportunity of getting an online account. After I set that up, they sent me an email which had both my username and my PASSWORD!!! I suggest using a password that is nothing like any other password you use, because if they have not changed policy they will send it in a plain email, visible to many people along the way (in case you don't know it, email goes from server to server to server, often going through college campuses, and many server admins can see it along the way). Aside from this one thing, which I reported to them as a problem, everything else is fine. I hope they have changed how they handle that, but I don't know. The oil company they connected me to was one I had used previously, and like better than my previous oil company. They post prices online on their website, which you can see even without a password account. They do other things, but I have never used them for anything but their oil discount program. I believe they will do a home energy audit for you, among other things. They are very professional, so I would consider getting other services from them

They were helpful and responsive. However, they referred me to an oil service whose price was higher than pnes I found on my own. I found this very strange.

So far, so good. The partner was very friendly. I am awaiting first delivery of oil and start of service contract.

We had a full energy inspection of our home. Mass Energy will provide these to consumers for free once a year. The inspector was great--very professional and personable. She offered excellent recommendations for our home, switched all our light bulbs to CFLs, and gave us a new thermostat. What a great service.

They are very good. They save me money, and I am familiar with them from having dealt with them in the past. They did not charge me for their services. As an Angie’s list member, their services were free. Even when there is a price involved, their price is good. It is a very good deal for what I pay for my membership.

I read about them while I was reading an article on Boston.com on how to cut down on heating cost. It was an excellent article and out of the 6 items they suggested, joining MA energy co-op was one of them. The provider I was alloted initially had high rates and calling MA energy, I was alloted to someone with better rates and service. Every member has online access to historical data on prices and it helps to figure out which time of the year is the best to stock up on heating fuel. I wish every home owner in MA that uses oil for fuel became a member. The more members, more bargaining power. I plan to renew my membership every year as long as I own this house and tell my friends about them every chance I get.

I would definitely recommend them. Everything went very well.

These guys are superb. We were members for almost thirty years until we converted our heat to gas. They are very highly recommended if you need fuel oil and have good opportunities for green electricity as well.

Overall went very well. The service was free for the first year (though we donated $25 to benefit poor people who could not afford heating oil). We were paired with a company at rates that seem pretty good versus state averages.
