ASAP Lock & Key

It went very well. We had recently moved into our home and did not have keys to our backdoor. So it had been locked since we moved in. One of our interior doors had a broken lock and we were unable to open the door. Moshe replaced the locks on the exterior door and ensured the keys matched our other exterior keys. This door was also not closing properly so he readjusted the door for us. He also fixed the interior lock on the broken interior door. In addition, he helped us determine the most appropriate lock for our outdoor shed. I will definitely call Moshe again for any locksmith needs!

Went great. When my girlfriend put the key in the lock and pulled it out, a large part of the lock mechanism came with it. I called Moshe, having worked with him once a year before, and his memory was freakishly good: he both remembered my apartment, and remembered how much he disliked the manufacturer of the locks I had. (Given that I've never seen Moshe write anything down, his memory is remarkable.) Moshe stopped by at one point to tell me that he didn't have the part he needed on hand, but that he'd ordered it and would bring it by early in the next week; his stopping by was classy. When he came back, he had a replacement for my door handle that was an even better fit for the existing deadbolt's matte-bronze finish. He used my key to re-key the lock, replaced the handle, chatted with my roommates and me, and was on his way.

Excellent. Moshe returned my call very quickly and replaced a lock the next day. He offered to repair the lock - to save me some money -- but, because it had been problematic for awhile, I chose to have it replaced. He did so right away. courteous and pleasant. I would definitely hire him again. Great job!

Wonderful experience!!! Called at 10am and Moishe was able to come within an hour and a half. Our apartment had been burgled several days before. I was thrilled he was able to repair the door with the security plate, and re-keyed the lock so we didn't need to get new keys, He was prompt, professional, knowledgeable and as very personable. If anyone asks me to recommend a locksmith I will definitely refer them to ASAP

It was a great experience! He came exactly on time - the day after the snowstorm! He understood the problem in spite of my confused explanation, and did the work quickly and cleanly. He even filed a new key I needed by hand because his key machine wasn't working properly. I couldn't possibly recommend him more highly.

Great. Called me in advance. Was on time. Chose to fix rather than replace the lock cylinder. I liked that. He was done in about 15 minutes. Nice guy, we chatted a bit. Bottom line: it was fixed completely. I'm happy.

He was running late but called to tell us that. He was personable, knowled and professional. He was neat and picked up after himself. It was a relief to finally get these locks working properly.

Moshe is a wonderful person to work with. He is reliable, funny, friendly and professional. I asked him to equip a 3-family rental property that I had just bought with all-new locks throughout, all under a master-key system. Moshe gave me some great advice on the right lock types for each kind of door (main entry, exterior, interior room) and installed high quality locks. He worked directly with my general contractor to coordinate installation with very little need for my involvement. He helped me coordinate the intercom system, provided advice on things I hadn't though of, resisted ideas of mine that were actually bad (such as having the same key open the main door and the apartment door), performed repairs where needed and was always available by phone for questions. He was even nice enough to go to the property to hand out keys to the tenants when I couldn't. The lock system Moshe put in place works great, and I'm confident that if I need any modifications or additions that he'll be available and will do a great job. The value alone of having someone who is reliable so that I don't have to worry about it was worth the cost. I have had to worry about many things during the renovation of my house, but locks never preoccupied me because Moshe had everything under control. I wish all contractors were like this.

Moshe arrived within the hour and got to work right away. He was professional, courteous and friendly. He assessed the existing lock configuration, provided advice on the best way to proceed, did not try to tack on extra work and performed the work promptly. When I tested one of the locks and found that it was sticking a bit, Moshe was very responsive and adjusted it on the spot. He said that he would be happy to come back if I found any other issues.

The locksmith returned my call almost immediately - about 6:30pm. Said he would come by to look at it but wasn't sure if it could be fixed. He arrived about 15 minutes later, took the whole lock apart and repaired it better than it has been in years. Moshe worked very hard to repair the lock which was extremely challenging, it would have been hard to replace the lock for that particular door which is more than 100 years old. Within an hour, Moshe had our front door locking better than it had done in years! he is a very friendly, professional and charming person, I would hire him again in a heartbeat!

He actually arrived early so we he was able to start a few minutes sooner. He did exceptional quality work. He was very professional. The cost of the service was competitive compared to other locksmiths I reviewed on Angie's List. I would suggest ASAP Lock & Key to family and friends. Did work for our tenant in Boston. Very responsive - returned our call right away, and met the tenant at his convience. He came on time, was very quick, has a super personality and clearly has a lot of experience with anything locksmith-related. After having two bad experiences trying to get a locksmith to even show up, we were so happy to have found Moshe. Would definitely recommend to anybody!

After moving into a newly renovated condo we needed to have locks rekeyed for the whole house and still have individual locks for each unit. He did this with no problem and at a very reasonable price.

We had a lever-type door handle on a very large door fitted with a "crash-bar" the handle would not function. Moshe managed a temporary fix while he researched finding the correct replacement parts for the fixture. We also needed a couple of other doors re-keyed and re-balanced so that the latches would line-up right with the latch plates. We got same-day service for the original call, and the replacement parts were installed at our convenience soon after he received them. The rates seemed reasonable, and the service was thoughtful, careful and complete. I will use ASAP again for our lock services. and would recommend ASAP to my friends and family, as well as sharing this recommendation with Angie's List.

When the replacement lock arrived, he returned to install it. That was far from easy, given the position and size of the existing holes in the door itself, but he made sure that it worked perfectly. He was completely professional, friendly and efficient. His price for labor was very fair, and his markup on the new lock was reasonable. I liked very much that he did not ask me for any payment at all until he'd returned with the new lock and installed it.

Moshe answered the phone promptly, told me he'd come the next day, and told me how much it would cost. It turned out to cost exactly what he said it would, and he got it done as quickly as he could. It involved completely disassembling the lock -- apparently the key was really wedged in there -- and then reassembling it. Problem solved, and only $60! I'll call him again, for sure.

Thank god I found Moshe. Great guy in addition to being a quality locksmith. Had visited a couple local stores and was finding their prices high and flexibility low (i.e. let me buy my own hardware and you install). He couldn't have been more responsive. Came over right away and the work was done I think within 24-48 hours. Had a small problem with one of the locks and he returned immediately to address at no charge. At my request he let me look over his shoulder and provided some good tips and instruction so maybe I would be able to do it myself next time. But no chance of that since with ASAP the price is right and the experience flawless.
