They help us to find good products at low prices. They also provide repairs. They come over to your house and do repairs when necessary.
Description of Work: We typically buy our appliances from them and they service them. Over the years we have a dishwasher, stove and washing machine that I have purchased from them.

Always wanting to support local businesses, when my dryer stopped drying the clothes, I called AAA Appliance in my neighborhood of JP. I'll spare all the gory details, but suffice to say that it took many calls and much inconvenience on my part to get the problem solved. I even had to call them to check on whether the part needed had come in--they should have called me when the part came in to schedule a time for the repairman to install it. It took three visits by the repairman over the course of a month to get the simple repair completed. The repairman arrived significantly late to every appointment--on the first two occasions, he arrived well after I had already waited for the 2-hour window I'd been told he'd need. The third visit--for which the repairman was also late--was necessary because he realized on the second visit that he had the wrong part, even though he was the one to diagnose the problem and order the part. Much of this ordeal could have been avoided through better communication from the business, and more appreciation for the significant inconvenience they caused by being late to every appointment. I am a single working person and so when repairs are needed, I have to stay home and miss work. As much as I'd like to recommend a local business to my neighbors, in this case, I cannot.

We've been using AAA Appliance for years because the quality of the work has always been good. Communication during the last several calls has been so frustrating, though, that we will probably be switching to another company. For this last call, the repair people were scheduled to come by noon. When they didn't arrive and my co-owner had to go to work, we called the company and made arrangements for them to contact our first-floor neighbor to be let in. We gave them his phone number and instructions to knock on the window rather than using the doorbell. The repair people claimed they arrived, called, and knocked on the window, and no one answered, so they left. When AAA told my co-owner that they couldn't get into the house, we called our neighbor and he picked up immediately. He said he had been home the entire time and no one had called or knocked. We've had similar issues with AAA in the past. We had a repair scheduled and the repair people arrived and called while the person who was waiting for them was in the middle of changing a baby's diaper. By the time she got to the phone, they were gone. They never bothered to ring the doorbell. When she called them back -- 5 minutes later -- they said they were already on the way to another job and couldn't come back. On this particular repair, when the repairs were performed, everything was done correctly, but there was a long delay to get a part, and then another delay to get a second appointment. Next time we will be looking for an appliance repair company that is a little easier to deal with.

The service took several visits to finalize. The first visit they assessed the situation and the second visit they installed a new part. This was a simple install of a new ice maker. They did the install incorrectly - the water feed hose into the unit was left pinched against the back wall of the freezer rather than emptying into the ice tray, resulting in water spraying and freezing all over the unit. This is the second time we have had issues with AAA. In 2013 they attempted to repair our dishwasher, which took three visits, highlighted by bumbling incompetency of the "technician" who was unable to accurately read the codes given off by the unit, requiring multiple visits and ordering multiple parts. This company does not maintain a highly professional staff, do not return calls as they promise to do, and I do not recommend them at all.

Very poor customer service. I made arrangements in my busy work schedule to modify the July 1st schedule and make special arrangements with my supervisor so I could work from my home while I waited for the workmen to show up and carry out the work I had partially paid for in advance. I was working from my living room table and had viewing access of the front yard and door during the whole time I was waiting since this was a priority activity I had planned to get done today as pre-arranged. I got a call around 12:30 - 1:00 PM on my land line while I was on another conference call. Listening to the call, I could barely understand who was leaving the message or where they were from. The phone number they left on the voicemail was hardly understandable and when I called back, no one answered and the call went to voicemail. I left a message and said if the voicemail was for the appliance company, I was at home waiting for them and that I expected them at 2 PM as pre-arranged, but would they call me back on my cell phone and left the number. At about 2:20 PM or so, I decided I'd better call the store since I hadn't heard back.....they connected me to someone named Donna (may have been the person I spoke to before?). She asked me to hold so she could check with the workmen. After a few minutes of holding, she said they told her they had been to my house and called and also rang the door bell and knocked several times....I said I didn't understand how that could happen since I was sitting in the same room as the front door and no one had come to the door at all during the whole time I was at home , except for the mailman. I was genuinely perplexed. Donna then said that the workmen would not go back and that they were going home for the day (it was not yet 2:30 PM). She was adamant that she had to believe the workmen - that they had come to the house because they confirmed I had a red car. When I asked how could it be that I didn't see anyone or hear anything and had been home all day and no one called my cell phone, which I had listed as the primary point of contact, Donna said she had to believe the workmen. She then argued to say that the workmen made call after all and knocked on the door multiple times, when initially she said they called my land line and also the cell phone. I then asked to speak to the store manager/owner. After being on hold for 5 minutes (during which time I checked AAA Appliance ratings on Angie's List), someone who said she was the owner was on the line to help me. I said I wanted to cancel the order and have my credit card refunded since I was concerned about the store's reaction to my concerns that if the workmen showed up, they did nothing to contact me to tell me they were at the property address. I also noted that the workmen had not tried to call my cell phone. The owner tried to work with me to see if a second team could add me to today's schedule, but it was not possible. Arranging another day was a concern since I didn't know if this would happen again if I had made special arrangements in my schedule. I don't feel as bad about the store's attitude since I did see Angie's List comments from previous customers that workmen had not showed for jobs that had been contracted. I don't think I'm crazy after all and this is what happened with my situation. BTW, after signing off the call with the store owner, I also realized the workmen could have checked google maps for my address and learned I had a red car without ever showing up at my house. I can take my business elsewhere. Thank you to Angie's List for confirming that I'm not crazy; there are other dissatisfied customers out there. Update on the review: Dean from AAA Appliance contacted me following the scheduled appt to ask about what I had experienced and offered to send a crew to install the AC after my work hours. He also seemed concerned that I would walk away with a bad impression of their business stating that they try to do a good business with their customers. Although I appreciated the efforts he made to look back on the incident and try to hear my part of the story, I mentioned I had already made contact with another appliance store. I appreciated his call and also felt as if he tried to hear my concerns. I was sorry to have had the unfortunate and strange incident and appreciated the Dean's efforts to reach out and correct the situation.
Description of Work: It was easy to work with the store to set up the appointment; the service contact seemed knowledgeable and helpful and was able to arrange for new AC order and schedule an appointment within a couple of weeks. She took two phone numbers, home and cell, although I preferred cell contact since it would be more convenient for me. She said it would be scheduled for 2 PM on July 1st.

It went poorly. We had done our research online and made up our minds before we walked in the door. Although their price was more than $100 higher than the best price we could find, we decided to make the purchase with AAA to support a local independent business. We hoped they might have our model on display. They didn't, but we decided to go ahead with the purchase, anyway. We were told the hood was in stock at the warehouse and would be available for pickup the next week. A few days later, we received a call to confirm that our order was in. Then, the day before our contractor was set to pick up the hood and start work, we called to confirm that everything was all set and were told that it was. But when our contractor arrived, it turned out that they ordered the wrong item. That was obviously disappointing. They only had one job to do in this transaction, and they flubbed it. Oh well, mistakes happen. But what was more disappointing was that they wouldn't expedite shipping to correct their mistake, so it took more than a week to get the correct hood, which obviously delayed our contractor's progress. I wish I could say something positive. Maybe they do a great job recommending products to customers who don't know what they want, but when it comes to executing their core functions as a retailer, they failed to place the order correctly; they failed to check in the shipment correctly; they failed to catch the mistake when we called to confirm the shipment; and they failed to compensate for their mistakes by expediting the replacement shipment.

The purchase experience was fine. The saleswoman, Donna, was helpful and friendly, and the only positive part of this experience. The delivery and installation (or lack thereof) was a huge headache and not worth the low prices. The delivery crew was polite, if incompetent and slow. We arranged to have our appliances installed, however, the crew that was sent wasn't capable of installing. (We had pre-arranged for a different plumber to hookup the gas range.) They also refused to uninstall existing appliances--a fact that was never communicated. Had we known this, everything would have been unhooked and ready to go. After the whole process, and a useless call ot the very rude store manager to explain the issues, we were left with a kitchen full of appliances we couldn't use.

I decided from AAA specifically to support a local business, even though it meant delaying my purchase a few weeks because they are not open evenings or on Sundays, which is the only time I'm not at work. The salesperson was friendly and knowledgeable. Although the store is open on Saturdays they claim not to do deliveries then. Therefore, I had to take a half day from work to await the delivery. The night before the scheduled delivery, they called to let me know that they would not be delivering the dryer, as it was somehow out of stock. The scheduled delivery time was between 12-5. They did not come till after 5:30. The delivery guys were friendly and efficient. However, I had ordered stainless steel pipes instead of plastic pipes (on the recommendation of a home inspector). The delivery guys hadn't been notified of that on the order and if I hadn't been standing watching the entire installation process they would have used the wrong ones. A few days later, I again had to stay home from work to receive the dryer. They dropped it and dented it as they were delivering it. They were able to pop the dent out.

The first repair (freezer leak) entailed two workers coming into my kitchen and leaving ice all over the floor. They did not clean up after they left nor did they remove their very dirty shoes. The only solution, they said after charging me $100+ was to "not use the bottom shelf of the freezer" to store anything. For the second repair (hose leak), one of the same workers came. He found the leak in the back hose and told me that it had nothing to do with the freezer leak so they would have to charge me $100+ for the part because they would "have to special order it" (this is a Frigidaire appliance). So, he ordered the part and got back in touch after a week to schedule an appointment. The appointment time came and went with a no-show (TWICE). I actually went into the store itself to arrange a time to make sure that it would happen--BUT again, a no-show! I wasted a total of 6 hours waiting for someone who never arrived on a scheduled appointment. I do not recommend them for repairs. On another note, the repair person who came wreaked of smoke and would lean over often which exposed his bottom.
Description of Work: The refrigerator was purchased by the contractor at this store. It has had 2 leaks since then--one in the freezer and only a few months later, one in the back hose connecting the water.

After horrible abortive experience with Sozio Appliance trying to get a washer-dryer, I turned to AAA. They were helpful, punctual, showed up on time with an incredible neat, careful and polite team, who performed acrobatics to get my washer dryer installed in a very tight space. Not a moment of complaint, always professional, and the washer-dryer works like a dream. I'd turn to these guys for any appliance need.

This was a terrible repair experience. I had to use AAA appliance, because the dryer had been purchased by the former owner of my condo, and was still under warranty. The first time I called, they scheduled an appointment, which was within a few days of my call. He came on the early side of the timeframe, and told me within 5-10 minutes that he knew what the problem was, but needed to order a part. A week or two later, we reschedule for the repair, and 10 minutes before the end of the 4-hr window, I called to check in, and he said he would be right there. He didn't show up until 15 minutes after the 4-hr window, and said that it was a different problem, and he needed to order another part. Several weeks later, I still hadn't heard anything, and called back to check in. It wasn't until several weeks after that that he scheduled a third visit. Again, it was getting very late in the 4-hr window, so I called to check in. He said he was running late and didn't think he could make it in that day (a Friday), but could he come the next day instead. I told him no, I had many things to do on Saturday, and planned on leaving home at 8am. He said he would do what he could to rearrange and come Friday, and would call me back. 10 minutes later he calls, and says there is no way he can come in as planned, but will show up right at 8am, and will only take 15 minutes. He didn't end up showing up until 8:30am, and was finished at 8:45am. I had been happy at the idea of finding a good local appliance repair company, for whenever I need appliance repairs in the future. In the end, they did repair the problem, and it did get covered under the warranty, at no cost to me. But having to sit around and wait for 4 scheduled visits (and several months) for a simple dryer repair was completely unreasonable and I will never use this company again.
Description of Work: Repaired broken dryer. Dryer was 9 months old, and was spinning and blowing air, but not heating the air first, so dryer cycles took 3-4 hours. Needed some sort of replacement heating element.

Disappointing. Ordered unit by talking with salesperson on the phone while looking at their web page. Salesperson rude and unresponsive but did eventually take the order, and booked a four hour window for the installation appointment. After waiting for four hours on the designated day, I called for an update. They said they didn't have my name, number or address (although they managed to charge my credit card) and so couldn't send the truck my way. About 90 minutes later a guy in Red Sox t-shirt, driving an unmarked white van shows up, telling me he has the microwave. No apologies for being late -- just orders me to get him some oversize bath towels to put under the old unit. The unit is installed and works fine, but I won't use them again.

There was some drama with the installation of the A/Cs; someone didn't make it to work one day. It worked out fine and they did a very thorough job. I never went to the store. They came out to repair my washing machine. They first provided a diagnostic test to the machine, and found that they needed a piece that they had to leave to get. When they came back the second time, they noticed a problem with the dryer vent. They brought it to our attention and I appreciated that because it was something we really needed to have repaired. They were not just trying to up-sale us. The overall cost was a little expensive, but I felt like I received good service for my money. I called AAA on Friday afternoon and Mark, a salesperson, answered the phone. I described what I was looking for in terms of features and size and he gave me a price ($519.00) on the F&P DG09. I told him I would look over the specs on the web and get back to him. Saturday morning I called and asked for Mark. He came to the phone immediately and I made the purchase and arranged for delivery and installation within a few minutes. AAA delivered the dryer the next Wednesday morning as promised. They were absolutely professional and did a great job, clearly looking to do everything correctly and well. The price for delivery, installation, and removal was $189.00, which seems great to have two trucks and four workers pull up in front of my house at the same time! Overall, this was about as easy as it gets to replace a dead (and much needed) appliance.

They had the best prices in the area, the salesmen direct and efficient. I checked the price on line before going to the store and it was lower than what was posted in the store. They delivered them both, in perfect condition and when they said they would, for one delivery charge. I paid the extra to have the dishwasher installed and it was well worth the money. The washer they installed at no extra charge= part of the delivery charge. They offer a large selection of many appliances to chose from. It was a very good experience. I highly recommend them.

Really poorly. The guy (Al) came and said I needed a part which he'd order. The part was apparently back ordered so I had to wait over a month to get it. When it finally came in I scheduled an appointment and the guy never showed up, never called. At the office they told me I shouldn't be upset because the guys are "very busy". I rescheduled, they canceled that appointment the day he was supposed to come. I rescheduled again, the guy doesn't show up and when I finally get in touch with him, he tells me that he lost the part! Can you believe it?

In the past year, we have purchased a refrigerator, washer and dryer from this store. I make it a point to check the prices of chain stores in the area and AAA is always cheaper. They will deliver your new appliance and take the old one away for only $50, which is an amazing price. For our dryer, they delivered the new one on the same week we had bought it. They don't play games; they just offer excellent service at great prices. They handle all grades of appliances, from budget to high end models.
