Shendel Designs

I have used Shendel Designs in the past for renovation of kitchen and baths and to prepare my home for sale. I found her to be very knowledgeable and excellent at organizing the renovation process so all went smoothly. I knew from this experience that Shendel was the perfect person to act as the general contractor to manage the major renovation of this new home. Shendel listens to what her client requests in terms of scope and design and translates that into an excellent finished product. I must say that all went much better than anticipated. Shendel has an excellent group of tradespeople. Her attention to detail and skill in coordinating the process was reflected in the timeliness and quality of work. I would definitely use her services again.

shendel came for a consultation because interior design is not my thing. she gave me suggestions on how to arrange my furniture and drew diagrams for me in case i forgot. she gave me suggestions that i wouldn't have thought of myself. i will likely have her come again to help me with finishing touches. thank you shendel!

Working with Shendel is an absolute pleasure. We moved into a new home and found out after arriving that we had a potential mold issue in the bathroom. Within 24 hours Shendel had someone at our house to complete the demo professionally and safely. She worked tirelessly to complete the project as quickly as possible. Not only does Shendel have a gifted eye for design, but she also is an expert in construction project management. The quality of the subcontractors she used was impeccable, they were dependable, detail oriented and focused on the project quality. She helped us pick beautiful fixtures and tiles that completely transformed the previous space. The end result was a "spa like" retreat in our house that we enjoy every day.

The work is ongoing but so far so good. Shendel engages me in everything from shopping (lights, tile, paint, countertops, and vanities). She sketched out a rough design when she wanted to add cabinets to my kitchen so I understood. She emails and text me products she thinks will go well. Great communication. I have been paying invoices as we go along which are in line with the budgeted amounts at the beginning of the project.

Shendel directed us to highly skilled contractors - and maintained very close supervision of all their work from the very start of the project until its completion. At all phases of the project she showed sensitivity and understanding to our personal tastes in matters of design and functionality, and always provided options which well within our specified budget limitations In the end, our satisfaction with the project which Shendel supervised was far, far beyond our initial expectations. Friends and visitors who have seen her work are simply astonished and delighted at her inventiveness, creativity, thoroughness, and overall expertise.
