Description of Work: American installed a new vinyl pool liner and new coping. The crew arrived when scheduled, did a professional job, and hauled off all the debris. Fortunatley, they had the expertise to deal with an inground pool built in the 1960s.

I left this year due to their excessively high prices on supplies and equipment. I'd always been puzzled by their prices on supplies and a bit shocked by their equipment prices. This year I could no longer ignore the difference between American and other pool service companies. When I needed a new filter, American Pool charged $2200 for a unit I could buy online for $900 or in a retail store for $1200 including installation. Since I needed other parts last summer, I began to buy them at Aquacraft Pools on Route One in Peabody and it made sense to transfer all my pool business to Aquacraft. Unlike my experience with American over the past couple of years, Aquacraft's prices are fair, they also do openings and closings, and their staff are pleasant and professional.
Description of Work: American Pool refurbished my pool years ago and continued to provide cleaning as well as opening and closing services for the past 25 years. I was quite happy with their service when they were smaller and it was possible to deal directly with John and Mary, the owners.

That’s why we submit a written quote for customer approval for all the work to be completed BEFORE we start. The final quote and the final bill will always match. If a customer gets a lower bid prior to installation, we will match any local, reputable competitor's written quote.

Minor issues with scheduling but we were trying to fit work in at last minute in their busy season. Once scheduled they completed job quickly and professionally. Prior service company took days to complete what these guys could do in one day. Had a strong grasp of how to get job done and dealt with issues promptly.
Description of Work: Provide tile replacement and repair of gunite pool and pool opening. Worked with outside vendor to provide water delivery.

Very well. Got their # from Angie's List, they returned my call and all went smoothly from there.
Description of Work: So far, so good. They respond promptly to my calls, scheduled pool closing and showed up on time. Looks like a good job. Hopefully, all will be well in the spring. I expect it will as they have been fine so far. I hope to continue using them.

They have essentially replaced the pool that was here and put in a new system. They are very reliable, they come on the agreed upon day, and they come in and out without leaving a mess. They are responsive to our concerns. We have never had any problems with them. They are a little pricey but you get what you pay for.
Description of Work: We have been using American Pool Service for about ten years. We use them twice a years to open then close the pool.

They are punctual and professional, but very expensive for work done. They charge you for everything. Your pool cover has to be clear of all leaves and water for opening or there is a $100 fee. All chemicals are extra. Their service for opening and closing is through, but not worth the price.

It’s true we do charge for everything we do. Some customers like to save money by preparing the pool and completing this necessary task required for a thorough, worry-free pool opening. When that’s the case, we refuse to charge for work the customer has already done.
