Had some problems on the beginning coordinating, when he was available & when a nailer was available to rent, but after about 3 weeks, and some back & forth calls & emails... we finally set a date. Very nice & polite man. Didn' t take hardly a break at all, and was very neat. Good work, just wish he could have been quicker. Maybe pay by the job instead of by the hour? I would still use him again.

FROM START TO FINISH THERE WERE NO ISSUES

He was great and did a good job. He was creative in trying to solve problems and pleasant.

Lorenzo was responsive, prompt, interactive, fair and competent. He arrived the day I called and did the job and we arranged for a follow-up.

Ren and his assistant were very pleasant to work with. They did a very nice job painting my family room. When I told them I had a function going on at my house in a couple weeks and needed additional painting, they stayed late and did that job for me as well.

Lorenzo (Mr. Fix It) and a person he was training showed up at our house on time and he was very gregarious. I can't recall her name but she was very nice. Since she was learning, Lorenzo spent time training her and since both arrived to work, our coupon was now worth 1 1/2 hours vs 3 hours. I understand but I wished he would have spoken with us in advance about this as a great deal of time was spent communicating between the two, and then Lorenzo would tell me not to worry about the time as he would be fair. As for the quality of work...The work on the mirrors and mailbox was quite fine. However some of the other things such as having the armoire secured, I was not pleased with at all. I purchased the L bracket that he recommended and was saddened when I saw this unattractive piece of metal sticking out of the wall of our new house. The picture hanging, I asked for since I thought we would have plenty of time as we had 3 hours initially. I ended up re-hanging at least one of them. In the end, I was charged for mileage, which I was not aware....I guess I did not read the fine print but had not been charged mileage from other Angie's List vendors. He also charged me for an additional bracket and additional time. Unfortunately this was the worst experience I have had with an Angie's List vendor and would not re-hire or recommend.

My experience was very good. I had originally thought that I could get a damaged plaster ceiling skimcoated, but when Ren evaluated the area, he explained why it would take many hours (and a lot of money) to do properly. He gave an opinion of all the options I had, and since it was going to take far longer than the 3 hours I had the coupon for, we moved on to other projects. Next was installing a piece of sheetrock in a hallway. Before the job I had asked for a materials list, which Ren provided. I had everything ready, and this installation went very smoothly. (Because the joints require 3 coats of joint compound, and each layer needs to dry for 24 hours, I need to finish this job myself, but I knew that beforehand, and my main goal was to make sure that the first layer was done by a professional.) We still had about 90 minutes remaining, so we started on the rest of my list. This included evaluating and fixing a window that would not stay open, and working on securing and taping loose ductwork (which I could do myself, but was far easier with a second set of hands). Ren was polite, personable, and knowledgeable. He listened, and explained my options very well. He was enjoyable to work with, and I would hire him again.

Lorenzo showed up on time with an assistant. He was thorough, fast, knowledgeable, and fair. He can handle a wide variety of problems, and was patient with questions. I recommend him highly.

Mr. Fixit and his assistant, Ana, removed the old fan and then scraped off any loose ceiling paint. After he was done, I spent 2 days scraping off more of the paint using paint remover, scrapers and sand paper. I was concerned about leaving mildew and mold under the new drywall. After scraping off all I could, I applied a mixture of 20% bleach to the ceiling with a paint roller and let it sit for 15 minutes. Then I scraped again. I followed up with a clean water application also applied with the roller. After the ceiling was dry, I sanded some more areas and spot treated any remaining mildew with the bleach. I had to purchase all of the supplies for the job myself. This included a new fan, venting hose, a soffit vent, 2 4x8 sheets of drywall, drywall tape, wall compound, an 8-foot 2x4, nails, contractors' adhesive, anti-mildew primer, semi-gloss paint and more. I had to borrow a friend's vehicle to transport the drywall to my house from Home Depot. The next time Mr. Fixit came, he was going to install the ceiling fan but it happened to be one of the hottest days of the summer. The opening to the attic crawl space was at the opposite end of the house from the bathroom. When Mr. Fixit got up into the attic, the rafters were not visible because of the blown-in insulation so he tried to lie boards down from rafter to rafter across the attic and then crawl along the boards. After about 15 minutes, Mr. Fixit came back down from the attic and told me he was so hot that he thought he might pass out and fall through the ceiling. It was probably at least 110 degrees up there, if not higher. He said he would have to figure out a way to install the fan and the vent hose from the bathroom. And he did! He and his assistant worked through 2 holes in the ceiling to connect the vent hose from the fan to the soffit vent outside the bathroom window. He then connected all the wiring for the fan and installed it into the hole he had earlier cut out. He fastened the fan housing in place and tested it. He had me put my hand out the window to feel the air coming out. Success! The next time Mr. Fixit came to install the drywall which he managed with only one helper. He taped and put on the joint compound and caulked around the ceiling-wall joint. The next day, he came back to sand and touch up any low spots. Then the primer was applied. I did some touching up myself (more sanding) and then applied the finish coat, an ivory semi-gloss. Mr. Fixit had recommended a semi-gloss since mold and mildew don't attach to it as well as flat paint. I applied a second coat of the semi gloss to a few sections where the taping had been done. The job was complete. The new fan is excellent; very quiet but it moves a lot of air (Nutone). The ceiling is shiny and free of ugly green and black stains. I'm very pleased.

He told me the time may go over the original coupon offer of 4 hrs, and said his rate is $65/hour. He has been professional, responsive and respectful, and I look forward to working with him.

From start to finish it was an excellent experience. He came in a timely manner and quoted the job. He helped pick out the door and exhaust materials for the dryer. He returned and finished the work. He was extremely neat and cleaned up after the job. I definitely would hire him again.

We confirmed the date and Lorenzo came by with his assistant. He removed all the doors and took care to not mar anything. He planed and reinstalled them and everything was perfect! I had arranged for 3 man hrs and there was extra time so his assistant mowed the lawn while Lorenzo finished up. Would definitely use his services again and highly recommend.

I had bought 2 $99 specials for 4 hrs of home repair. When I called to have the work done, Mr. Fixit responded promptly and courteously to my call. He was very detailed in his inquiries about the work, and made specific recommendations about supplies I needed to have ready for him. He told me to call him from the hardware store if needed, and I did--and he answered and helped me get the right products. He and an associate did the work; they were very efficient, professional, pleasant, cleaned up after themselves, and they did a great job at all the tasks. He can do a wide variety of home repair, and if it needs some ingenuity, he's got it! And if he can't do it, he's up front with you.

After multiple e-mails he agreed to look at the house and chores needing to be done to determine what work could be accomplished for my 6-hour certificate. He became exasperated and stated he could not perform the job I was requesting. (I indicated I was willing to consider additional payment) My property did not meet his work area criteria. Very pompous attitude and critical.

We used a Groupon to buy several man hours of service. They called back immediately and made a date, kept it, and determined that we needed more tile work done since there was a good deal of water damage in a shower wall. They were very helpful.

Once we settled on a day for the work to be performed, Lorenzo and his helper arrived promptly, worked efficiently and completed the repairs in the time we had allocated. He's a pleasure to work with since he brings a positive, 'can-do' attitude to the job.

He came out with his assistant, assessed the work to be done. We chose to pay him by the hour, and feel we got our money's worth. He purchased most of the supplies, returned as promised. He and his assistant were very professional, worked from the minute they arrived to when they left each day. Workmanship was excellent. They cleaned up well after themselves, left no mess. Very pleasant to interact with. Very good experience.

Mr. Gardner listened to the problem I was trying to address and he came up with a solution that was similar to my own vision and he gave me a time frame and an estimate. I expected that I would pick up the materials since most carpenters expect that. If they get their own I really have no idea as to what I am getting charged for or how much was bought etc. I like getting my own supplies and have no problem with it. I think our styles of working together match very well. His assistant was also very good to work with.

I was moving out of state and had an apartment to rent. The upstairs apartment included a loft that needed to have some safety barriers built in. I found Mr Fixit on Angie's List and called him about my my needs. He was in the area and came to look and told me what I would need to make a good and safe barrier to not only protect me from liability but also to make the space safe. We talked a few times and figured out a good solution. He told me to buy certain things but to call him about any questions I might have over what was needed. When I did, he helped me figure out the hardware I needed to purchase from Home Depot. When I did I felt confident that this job would be completed quickly and easily. And this was this case. Mr. Gardner showed up with his assistant at the scheduled time and set up shop in my yard. By the end of the day I had what I needed and it looked good! I feel that my problem was solved in a way that other carpenters have not been able to help me with; and I think it looks good as well. I was so happy that he showed up when he said and he charged what he said. And the results were pleasing. Showing up on scheduled time is really important and I feel Mr Gardner respects that and works hard to meet those time frames. More than I expected! I would totally recommend him and I would hire him again and again for work that I needed at my house in Leverett.

Returned my call quickly, even though it was on the weekend. They were able to get to my place early Monday morning. The price was reasonable. Cleaned up the work area, too. I would recommend them and use them again.

It went great! Ren was very punctual, did exactly what he said he would do in his proposal, and did a quality job. What's more, he went out of his way to build my window box very quickly, even though the timing wasn't totally convenient for him. I really appreciated his extra effort to be sure that I was happy!

Ren did an excellent job on all of the tasks. He arrives promptly, works efficiently and never leaves a mess. The work is always high quality and the price is very reasonable. I would highly recommend him for any handyman jobs and would not hesitate to have him back again to do more 'fix-it' jobs in my house!

Came same day he was called. Worked quickly with an assistant. Was friendly and quite animated-but on task and finished job in record time. Ensured that equipment was working properly prior to leaving and said to call if any problems.
