I received a flier stating that the company was working in the area. I monitored the work and requested an estimate for my home. The estimate was prompt and the lowest of 4 total estimates. After a follow-up with my neighbors who were very satisfied with their results, I selected Schmidt Painting for my home. The work was done in a timely manner and the results were excellant.

I was there for the estimate. Mr. Schmidt came along with a carpenter. They made a clear and straightforward assessment of what had to be done, focusing on how to do the work for the least cost. I was not at the house during the period when the work was done and payments made. There was some confusion regarding the down payment (our fault). Mr. Schmidt went ahead and did the work on trust, and when we inspected later. found the work to be excellent. Recommend for professionalism, technical skills, and outstanding personal qualities.

We engaged Schmidt Painting to paint the outside trim of our house, guest house and garage studio on Nantucket. Derrick and his wife, Sarah did excellent work, were pleasant and neat and we thought so well of them that we asked them to paint 3 rooms in the main house & the studio. Also Derrick and Sarah lived in the studio and left it in great condition. I'm pleased to recommend Schmidt Painting Company, they did superb work, were nice, always willing to be helpful.

Overall experience went very well. They are professional, honest, conscientious. I never felt uncomfortable with them and if I needed to ask a question or wanted something done they were polite and helpful. Over the years I have had several contractors. I know from experience red flags on how a job is going to go from the contractors personality. I was happy that I am getting better at this and I would hire Schmidt Painting again and will have them come back again for more work. I needed to update this: Another painting contractor that we had bid on the job, stopped by and spoke to my husband. He stated how well the house looked, and that Schmidt Painting Co. did a very professional job. He also asked where we found them. My husband stated how we had watched them paint another house and we were impressed. I also checked for Schmidt Painting on Angie's list. But overall they gave us the best estimate and completed more work with repairing shingles and rotted window casings that other contractors would not perform.

It was done meticulously and very competitively. They used the best paint and has a pleasant disposition.

I highly recommend Schmidt painting for all your painting concerns. Being a Facilities manager I work with contractors and vendors on a daily basis and have used many painting companies over the years and I must say that Schmidt Painting was a very pleasant surprise! My wife and I just purchased our dream home, a small 18th century reproduction Bow Cape that was in great need of paint having been left unoccupied for 3 years. The outside had trim that was rotting and needed replacement and the paint was peeling off all over. Derrick, Sarah and their helper Evander were the consummate professionals and treated our house as if it was their own. They take pride in their work and strove to make us happy paying great attention to all the detail on our house and restoring it to like new condition. They did whatever we asked and more without a complaint. Being a facilities manager I can be quite picky and want things just so and they strove to meet my expectations and they did even more so. Their pricing was very competitive to top it all off!! My wife and I hated to see them go, we were so pleased and can?t wait to have them back to start out interior!!! ?

Derrick checked with us when there were legitimate questions but otherwise used his judgment appropriately and his crew performed admirably and professionally. He pointed out to me inconspicuous parts of the eaves that were difficult to reach that had not been painted in the two previous paint jobs.

Derrick and his team were quite good and if it was not for really bad weather for an extended period of time, the project would have been completed in a timely manner. The work was performed in a professional way including the cleanup which was very good. As with all larger projects, it is always a good idea to have everything in writing to protect both parties from failing memory's or misunderstandings. When small issues did come up, they were handled right away in a satisfactory way.

It went great! I had just had a 7 week nightmare with the first painter I hired. I contacted several painters for an estimate but the Schmidts came the day after we spoke, gave me a great price, and were able to start the next week. I was struck by their honesty, knowledge and the time they took looking at the job. I have a large colonial, 21 years old that needed a lot of prep work. They brought a huge crew [10+] to prep the first two days and then a smaller painting crew. They worked until dark (or imminent rain) every day. They began on Tues July 29 and finished on Monday Aug. 4, taking only Sunday off. - I was amazed. Derrick insisted on me walking around the house with him at completion and would not accept payment until the job was perfect. The Schmidts and their workers took great pride in the quality of their work! They even fixed up the poor job done by the previous painter and made an old garage door look brand new without extra charge. This is the BEST experience I have ever had with painting. By the time they had finished their first day, all the stress of my previous painter experience was gone; I knew I had picked a winner this time. Derrick and Sarah are very professional and excellent managers of their crew. In addition, all of the workers were nice people, I enjoyed having them here.
