Derrick and his crew completed the job in 1 day! They were fast and efficient. There were a few rotten boards they missed and I reminded Derrick of cleanup on the front walk and shrubs that had to be done. He came back and cleaned it all up. He also replaced, patched and painted all the rotten boards that were missed and kept at it until I was satisfied. The deck and house look great. His price was competitive and the Angie's List coupon clinched the deal.

Derrick and his wife have a very professional and efficient house painting operation. I received competitive bids from several contractors and chose Schmidt Painting based on price and Angie's List reviews. They come in with a large (7 or8 people), industrious crew that gets right on the job and works non stop until they're finished. Everyone seems to have a specialty in prep, light carpentry and painting. I was very pleased at how quickly the job progressed and the quality of the finished product. They painted my house restored a tool shed and accomplished it all in one day.......highly recommended!

When the crew came out to paint , they were very respectful of our house, and the gardens surrounding it. The crew took great pride and care in their work. When the painting was done Derrick took the time to hang 3 new window boxes for us. We also had our deck painted, the crew worked hard to prep the deck before the stain was applied. When the staining was finished the deck looked beautiful! We were very pleased. Then when the leaves fell on the deck along with a passing rain storm we found that leaves were staining the deck. We tried everything to get the stain from the leaves off the deck. We called Derrick and told him about the problem we were having. He came back within 2 weeks and totally repainted the deck for us. Something that I am sure most painters wouldn't even consider doing for no charge. So yes, we would hire Schmidt Painting again without even thinking twice about it.

I found him on Angie's list. He was excellent. He was really great. He was able to come and do the work. He did a very nice job. When he first talked to me, he talked about quite a bit of detail about how he handles various situations, if there was rotting in a particular area and how he deals with it. He was dealing with it in a way that was highly preferable to what I have been used to over the years. He was able to make some patches and do some work with some rotting, he cut it out and made it look just perfect, like nothing has ever happened to it. The other thing that I really like about him is he talks in great detail about how he would do the work and the products that he would use. I checked all the products that he used and they were all recommended in consumer report for highest level of quality. He was very specific about all of it and he was very encouraging. He wanted to make sure that I understood that it was important to use a good product. I checked things out and reports, to find out how things were rated if I was using them. He spoke to me in a way that I really appreciated and most people just came in and looked over. They said that they would try to do it. He started earlier than he said he would.

The work was excellent, they did a good job, and there were no problems.

The work was excellent. The work was done right after the hurricane. There was a lot of clean up work that needed to be done. They did an excellent job and the workmen were very professional. The only flaw I had was the main painter didn’t use a drop cloth in the beginning of the work and there were a couple paint droppings on my table. But once I brought this to their attention, a drop cloth used.

When I first found Schmidt Painting on Angies List with all the other painters, I immediately went to their own website. There I found their Angies List awards and BBB link. They also had at the time, 6 documents about choosing a good honest quality painter, and saving money on the project. Derrick was also very prompt with returning the quote, as some others took over 2 weeks. After getting 6 quotes, Schmidt was one of two that were a full 30% under the rest. We were just having the trim painted, not the whole house, and most of the painters all talked about doing the same prep work, including a power wash of the entire house, filling holes, replacing rotten boards with Azek, priming where needed and using all Sherwin Williams products. This included the north end of the house with a peak approx 42' above the driveway. We also did another walk around before starting as I had concerns about the landscaping and stonework close to the house. When finished there was only some matted lawn which I expected. They were prompt and timely in spite of a lot of rain over the next few weeks. There were adjustments to be made but he was very reasonable about extra charges, took care of my concerns quickly and without question. He always replied promptly via phone or email when I asked about his insurances and other questions during the project. We recommend them, and would definitely hire them again in the future.

Schmidt quoted , painted and delivered multiple projects interior and exterior. Bottom line, we will never call another painting company. Derrick is straight forward , provides very competitive pricing and the quality of his teams work is exceptional.They repainted several rooms including extended entry way.. and scraped repaired and painted half dozen old wooden doors... they look like NEW!!!

From the time we got an estimate, to the time we shook hands after the project was done, the level of professionalism and respect was wonderful. The crew was superbly talented and willing to please. Perfectionism is the name of the game with Schmidt Painting. The painting was done on schedule and went without a hitch...and within estimate/budget!! Derek, his wife and crew arrived every morning on-time, and stayed as long as the weather held up everyday. Upon completion, we did an inspection of the job with Derek. Excellent job all around. Results were great, the house looks better now than when it was new. The crew was very neat and took great care with our property. Did a follow up walk around to make sure our expectations were met. A real class organization with customer service number one.

Came very promptly for the estimate, and was very thorough about including lots of carpentry that needed to be done before painting. It took a little while to get scheduled for work (mostly because of bad weather), but once begun, the work teams were extremely professional. They cleaned up each day and did excellent work. Lots of attention to detail. At the end of the job there was a very careful walkthrough and everything was left in very clean good shape. They really work hard and are very focused on detail.

My wife and I are extremely pleased with the work performed by Schmidt Painting. After receiving three comparable estimates to repair and paint the exterior of our home we decided to go with Schmidt Painting because Derrick's estimate/contract was the clearest and most comprehensive. We moved into a large 10 year old house early this year and set out to have the interior painted to our taste. We interviewed several painters and were very impressed with Derrick's knowledge and professionalism. He provided a clear estimate with a detailed explanation of what he was going to deliver. He was quite willing to engage in discussion, answer questions and consider all of our wishes while at the same time providing a number of excellent suggestions based upon his experience and being able to clearly explain the reasoning behind them. We hired him and then met his wife, Sarah, who quickly demonstrated herself to be a perfectionist with a keen eye for color and design and tremendous attention to detail. By the time the first few rooms were painted, we knew we had made the right choice in hiring Derrick and Sarah and were consulting them for advice on our plans for painting the rest of the interior, including following up Sarah's suggestion for faux painting. The final job made the interior of the house come to life with gorgeous colors, applied with care and precision. We were so happy that we hired them to come back and paint the entire exterior. The were meticulous in preparing the house for painting, first powerwashing it and leaving it to fully dry before proceding with sanding and caulking of critical areas, and repairing/replacing several areas of wood rot, including planks that they replaced with Azek. Once again, the paint job was masterful and the house now looks brand new both on the outside and the inside. We were extremely pleased with Schmidt Painting, would highly recommend them to anyone in need of interior or exterior painting, light carpentry and powerwashing and would certainly use them again in the future.

All of the soft wood/shingles were replaced with new wood/azek. The exterior was painted very well. It was a neat and carefully painted job.All of the work was done promptly and around our schedule. Derrick is very knowledgable and honest painter. Several of our neighbors have asked us who did the painting job - they were impressed. We highly recommend Schmidt Painting.

Our house was badly in need of painting. The trim was moldy and the paint was peeling. Our decks were also in bad shape and hadn't been cleaned or stained in several years. Derrick and his crew worked tirelessly, well into the evening and even on Saturday to get a jump on the work before the 4th of July holiday. My husband and I were very impressed with the thoroughness of the work. We had actually considered saving money to replace our decks which now look and feel like new. Derrick and his crew completed the work exactly when they said they would and returned to make sure everything was satisfactory. They did an excellent job of cleaning the work site each day and upon completion of the job. Derrick charged us less money than our last painter (who did not do the decks) and did a much better job.

We checked on Angie's List for a house painter. The reviews for Schmidt were excellent and they were located near our home. We called and Mr.Schmidt came out to give us an estimate. He sent us a contract which my husband signed. They showed up as scheduled and did a great job. We certainly would call them again and also tell friends about them. Mr. and Mrs. Schmidt are lovely people.

I was very pleased with Schmidt Painting with the exterior painting, that I had them estimate for inside painting as well. They were about 200 hundred dollars less than other estimates I recieved. Looking forward to have them come back.

Derrick and Sara (owners of Schmidt Painting), provided me the results I was looking for in my Cape Cod home. The project was to powerwash the house and shed, paint the interior and exterior of 8 new windows, paint the outside trim and front foyer, and paint the outside deck. A project of this size can be quite challenging taking into consideration the ever changing NE weather, but Derrick and Sara made it 'look easy'. They always approached each day with a smile, and made me feel at ease no matter what they faced for the day.
