Terrible. They said the technician had quit and we would have to find someone else to repair it. We did get two names from the rep in Nantucket but both other repair men were so busy that they did not return our calls for over a week. We finally got a date of August 27th for a day the repairman could come. My husband called Kam back because he heard they were sending a repair person here but they were rude and said we could not get on a list if they did happen to get a repairman here. I spoke with Speed Queen directly and they told us the part we needed according to the error code we were getting. However they said they could not sent the part until a repairman looked at it. I called and spoke with Victoria at KAM, asked her a number of questions and was told she would get back to me. I have never heard from her again. I also e-mailed Sarah the business manager and never heard from her either. They have never checked back with us and it will be going on a month. Speed Queen finally sent us the part because the repairman told us what part we needed according to the error message. So now we are waiting for the repairman to come on the 27th. Through all of this, not one phone call from Kam to see what was going on or any show of concern. We have every appliance in our house and our apartment from Kam. We will not do business with them now because of their lack of concern for their customers and their their lack of trying to solve the problem or replace the brand new machine because it was useless after two weeks.
Description of Work: I needed to have my dryer repaired.It was delivered on 7/7/21 and broke down on 7/23/21.

It did not go well. I live in Virginia and II ordered a dishwasher for my elderly mom back in March. It was delivered on Saturday May 8 and the old one was disconnected and outside on her patio to be picked up by them. They delivered new one but did not pick up the old one. I called within a half hour of them leaving and was told it would be picked up Monday. That did not happen so I called again on Tuesday and was told someone would call me back. That didn’t happen so I called again and was told it would be picked up. It wasn’t so I called again on Friday and was told it would be picked up today. It is still in her yard. Awful customer service and I will make sure she and the rest of my Cape Cod family does not give them business.

Description of Work: Very difficult dealing with the customer service agents. I found there was no follow-up on deliver for repair parts and when you call they have big attitude when you remind them you've been without an appliance for a week and would like to schedule a date for the repair. Next time I'll buy my appliances and repairs some place else.

It did not go well. When I called the manufacturer it told me that Kam's was not its preferred provider of service. They scheduled someone else. Kam now wants to charge me $98 for telling me the dryer was broken and needed a new heater. If they charge my credit card I will take them to small claims court.
Description of Work: We called to tell them that the dryer stopped showing a heater failure code. A week or so later the technician shows up, sees the same code and tells us he has to replace the heater. That seemed obvious, but he did not have the parts and we could not get a time estimate.

He was quick to give us all of the pricing, but when I called to place the order at the end of March, I had a big problem. The salesman who had given us the estimate was not working, so another person offered to take our order over the phone. I had called on the last day of the month to take advantage of a rebate program. I told them, I could purchase the appliances on that day, but couldn't take delivery until the Fall of 2013 (because of a tough winter, our project was delayed). The person who took my call told me I would have to take delivery of the product when it came in and would have to pay for my own storage. i was flabbergasted. I then called Yale Appliance in Boston, where a very nice person GLADLY took my 20k order over the phone and told me they would store my appliances and deliver them when I needed them. In June, I paid another visit to Kam to look at high end gas grills. The salesperson I spoke with that day, could barely come out form behind the counter. When I told him what happened with my last order, he yawned. He told me he didn't understand how that happened, because they hold orders for clients all the time. Say what? Does the left hand know what the right hand is doing? He made no apologies for what happened, and seemed more annoyed with me than not....no worries, I'll never by another appliance from them again (I've bought a dishwasher from them 5 years ago).
Description of Work: A very nice salesperson helped us pick out a Wolf double oven, Subzero refrigerator, Wolf cooktop, and Miele dishwasher (also a microwave oven, wine/beverage center, hood for cooktop).

We accomadated the installer who wished to come a day earlier than the scheduled appointment. He came in the late afternoon. He had difficulty removing the old washer, but finally did so. He installed the new dishwasher after commenting that the area beneath the old dishwasher was dirty. (My wife swept up the dirt). He proceded to install the new dishwasher, and stated that "we were on our own" as far as knowing how to operate the new machine. He left many smudge marks and streaks on the stainless steel front, and when I remarked about them, he said "Well you have stainless steel cleaner don't you", and then he left. I called the Kam, and explained the above. They said they could do nothing, but if I wanted to know how to use the washer, I could drive to the showroom, and 'somebody' would demonstrate how to use the machine. That's the extent of their customer service. It was not a good experience.

Fine, problem free transaction. Salesmen were courteous and knowledgeable, and not pushy. They also have a nice variety of brand names.
Description of Work: Bought a couple of appliances there over the past several years. Their prices were always lower on the same appliance at the big box store, and their delivery, installation and takeaway of the old appliance was also much cheaper than the big box stores.

We purchased a new kitchen from Kam appliance for aprroximately $5000.00 and eight months later our microwave stopped working. It took over six weeks and four missed appointment to get it repaired. When it was finally repaired they broke the front and now it has had duct tape holding it together for over a month. They have a great sales team but the service is terrible.

Bought dishwasher from KAM in 2008 - DW stopped working, called KAM for service, gave DW details to service dept. Service person showed up at promised time but was unable to begin diagnosing problem with DW. Ends up KAM was unable to service DW that they sold, KAM charged for service call. When replacement DW was discussed, no break was given on price. Ended up purchasing replacement from another dealer for $100 less then KAM would sell same DW.

The GE Cafe gas oven and cook-top has a two stage burner for low simmer heat. The burner would occasionally extinguish and we would detect gas entering our home through the extinguished burner. KAM's and GE say they can not do anything about this, our view is that it is a design flaw and a serious safety issue. KAM's has dragged their feet on this, taking weeks to even raise the issue with GE. Other problems on this oven included sporadic oven temperature and control panel issues. We are now dealing directly with GE to get resolution, which for us means replacement of the oven since so many repairs have been done. It is now out of warranty, partly because we had to purchase the oven 5 months before it was installed and put to use in our new home, but the warranty starts at purchase even though the appliances were in storage. Problems with our Whirlpool washer resulted in getting a new washer installed after multiple service calls on the original. Replacement was only conceded after weeks of haranguing with multiple company reps and internal handoffs but at least Whirlpool did agree that our experience was poor and did the right thing, with no assistance from KAM in this experience. The saga continues today with GE and we will report on the outcome as it takes place.
Description of Work: KAM's supplied all of the appliances for our new home including high end brands such as Whirlpool and GE Cafe series. The washer, refrigerator, stove, cooktop, and dishwasher each had one or more significant reliability issues. KAM did the service work, under warranty, over the course of ~18 months. As problems continued, most notably with our GE Cafe series oven, KAM's personnel became increasingly difficult to work with until we were finally passed off to the manufacturers. The KAM service technicians were professional and capable, our problems are with the management of the service and sales areas.
