Laurie was very friendly, competent and professional. She kept me informed at all steps in the coordinating of the project. She coordinated the custom making of the window trim with Shelley for the half moon window. She arrived for the estimate visit when she said and also for the actual trim repair. I am thoroughly pleased with her work and that of her associate, Charlie. When finished, they left the place so clean, you wouldn’t even know that they were working here. Very please and will use them again!

From the minute we contacted Laurie she was responsive and helpful. She showed up on time and was prepared to repair our chair. The repair turned out to be more complicated than first thought. She confidently took her time to solve the problem getting the spindles to fit properly. The repair came out great! I would highly recommend Laurie and will use her again in the future.

Couldn't have gone better. Laurie arrived right on time both to review the jobs and on the day we scheduled the work. She saved me money and cost herself work by telling me that a couple of things I had assumed were necessary were not. On the day of the job she came fully equipped and tucked right in - work was done in about five hours pretty much without a break. Plus she was fun to talk to and was patient with my questions.

The wind had blown over a large section of fencing. Received a quote from fence company, outrageous. Called Laurie, she took care of the fence in one day at a fair and reasonable price. Next time i just call Laurie, she can fix most anything. Another job well done.

There were some hiccups but generally it was fine. It took longer than they expected and we expected. They busted their hump to get job done within our time frame. This was much appreciated. Nice guys to work with.

Laurie did an outstanding quality job! Laurie arrived on time (even a little early), first asked me detailed questions about the job that I wanted and then carefully listened to what I said. Already, that was a great start and I started to sense that Laurie was a high-quality handyperson. There were 2 items on my list. The first item was sawing a plywood sheath, carrying it upstairs and installing it under a very soft mattress which had been exacerbating back pain issues. The second was fixing a storm door that would no longer close or lock, even though it was only about 1 year old. She is very knowledgeable, offered great suggestions and shared experiences that she’s had on similar work. Laurie did an excellent job carefully measuring, squaring off and cutting the sheath with her saw and avoiding any scratches or marks on a new ping pong table. She accurately diagnosed the problems with the storm door as caused by a loose screw on the uppermost side of the door which was in a spot difficult to see unless you know what to look for. Laurie got right to work, was efficient and when she was finished, asked if there was anything else that needed attention. She even unscrewed the umbrella on the outdoor table and carried it into the basement for the winter season. In short, Laurie is exactly what is so rare to find these days: a highly skilled and versatile handyperson of excellence in the work that she does who has reasonable prices and is also caring and concerned about the customer’s needs. I will be hiring Laurie again for future jobs and projects. She is professional, honest and just the kind of handyperson support that a novice homeowner needs on their team. She informed me that she and her partners also build house additions and do major renovations. I give my highest recommendation to Laurie Kraynick of Home Assist without reservation for anyone looking for excellence in their home repair, maintenance and support needs.

Laurie did another great job for us at a very fair price. She replaced one of our storm doors, as well as repairing a wood gutter, a job most repair people won't tackle. She built us an awesome new shower floor. She also repaired several doors and kitchen drawers that were not functioning properly. Our home is seasonal, so we are often not present when work needs to be done. Having someone we trust take care of needed repairs is comforting, as she is always responsive and communicative. Laurie was knowledgeable and generous with her time. She checked out the house inside and out from the attic to the basement including the yard and driveway. She gave advice on what areas to focus on for repairs and upkeep. She also provided contacts for jobs outside of her scope. (Chimney work). She has years of experience and was very willing to share here knowledge. I would use her services again.

Laurie and crew did nothing less than expect from Home Assist. I am a landlord where unit turnaround is crucial to my business. I was in a situation where I had 2 units go vacant within 2 consecutive months. They both needed extensive rehabs (which included), total kitchen, misc. carpentry as well as management/oversight to additional contractors (plumbing, electric, misc.) You can expect to find the area clean when Home Assist is done. As I have other units in New England, it is refreshing for me to have little to no intervention in projects that are associated with Home Assist. I am not only getting the highest quality contractor on the Cape, I am getting customer service and project management, where the only intervention I receive is whether I want "a pull string light or switched light". This company continues to deliver repeated high quality, excellent price and phenomenal customer service.

This was my first time using Laurie, and I was impressed with her responsiveness, capability, and follow-up. She contacted me within a few hours of my initial voicemail message asking for her help, set an appointment for a few days later, and arrived right on time. Not only was the specified work done well, but Laurie also pointed out an additional item that I could easily attend to myself & explained how to do it. We also discussed a possible future project, and she provided an estimate by email just a few days later. I expect to call upon Laurie in the future because she is so responsive, dependable, and fair-priced.

I hired Laurie to replace a large window for one of my apartment units. While determining what the job would entail, she also noticed wood rot. She and her crew managed to remove, repair, replaced wood with azek as well as reattach the existing vinyl siding with impeccable detail. I have used Laurie on several projects and the outcome is always better than expected. To hire a contractor and trust that they run the project efficiently with your associated costs in mind and total project priced right, is far and few between. This project was completed in one day (approximately 11 hours), and was done the "right way".

Laurie is a Pro. I always try and look for the best and I found gold! Being a landlord, I spend most of my time hiring, firing and having to constantly monitor the work of contractors. As an added extra benefit, Laurie is also a stellar project manager. She redid a bathroom for me and coordinated the entire project with a carpenter, plumber and tenants and did the job in approximately a day when other contractors had quoted upwards to 4 days of inconvenience (downtime). This would have caused me an additional associated cost for hotel stays for the tenants. Completed, was efficient and quality work along with having an appreciation and sensitivity for working with tenants. My tenants were impressed and commented positively as well. While she was there, it was determined that I had 2 sinks (1 in another room that had nothing to do with the project) that has slow drips. She contacted me concerned that I was losing money on water and proposed that it get fixed. In addition, an old rotted heat register had to be removed and replaced. A new registered was custom designed and installed. This is the over and beyond ingenuity is what you that get when with working with Laurie and anyone that she works as a team with. Absolutely the best experience that I have ever had working with a contractor!

Very pleased with work on all accounts. During initial contact, Laurie patiently listened to all my concerns and offered not only practical solutions, but cost effective remedies. Then, as work was performed meticulously, Laurie provided clear explanations... proving that she truly wanted to "assist" the novice home owner. Even though this was a small job, Laurie even took the extra step to follow-up a few weeks later... a much valued extra step.

Did not use them as their quotation was 1/3 more expensive than provider I ultimately used. To be fair though ...the company I used increased their quotation by "almost" 1/3 prior to doing job based on additional insight gained by removing some of the woodwork. Not sure if "Home Assist" just had better insight on this...or, might have also increased "their" pricing by a 1/3 once they started. In any event, Home Assist was very professional and responsive and I would certainly consider them for other projects.

Laurie was terrific. Her work is meticulous. As noted by others, if she doesn't feel she can fix a problem, then she will not hesitate to recommend someone else. She is extremely responsive to calls, messages. Overall an excellent experience. Would definitely hire again.

Contacted Laurie based on reviews here and was not disappointed. Laurie called me back right away and went to our house the next day for the repair. She sent before and after photos and constantly communicated with us. She even went back the next day to do some touch-ups, even though we told her it wasn't necessary. But she was not happy leaving her good work unfinished and insisted on doing paint touch ups. We are out-of-staters and have a rental property in Chatham. It's so great knowing we now have someone we can rely on for repairs. Highly recommended!
