Description of Work: This "company" is a TOTAL SCAM! DO NOT USE THEM. The representative/owner came to our home and took a $3500 deposit for two awnings and then DISAPPEARED! We found an article about him in an old issue of the Cape Cod Times describing how he had cheated other customers. We are currently pursuing police action against him.

The owner came out to do the initial estimate and measurements. That part was very professional and pleasant. The time between contract and delivery took about a week longer than promised, but that didn't strike me as unusual for a contractor in this area. The installation went fairly well, and the awning looked great. The problem came over the first winter. The support legs were left open at the top with no provision for a drain at the bottom. Ice built up in the pipes and in some cases, burst the seams, leaving jagged edges. Despite repeated calls, the owner has not acknowledged the problem or done anything to repair it.

They claim the stain on my awning happened when my roofer was installing a new roof. I had a new awning and they are blaming the roofer. Every year they have put them up and take it down.
Description of Work: The put the awning on.

I was furious and I was living away from the Cape. I was living in Virgina. I called them several times and NOONE called me back. I got ahold of one person and I told them someone has to call me back and still no call. They never called me back - and it looks like they came between the call on Saturday and today 6/27/2013.
Description of Work: I paid for the awnings for my home last October and I came back in the wintertime and they had not been put up. They take the awnings every year out and you pay to put them back up. It is June and they just put them up. They are supposed to put them up in April.

Awning Systems is really bad. The sales person said they were going to clean and replace the awning. They did take it off but the problem was getting the awning back, I could not get it back for two months. They put it back on after two months but it was not completely clean, they left a dirty line on it. They would not answer there phone, I had to go to the store many times to get the awning back. They are nasty and i do not like them. They had cashed the cheeck 7 days after they came out so I could not get my money back and I had to stick with them to clean the awning.

When installing the replacement awning in 2007, workers damaged one screen and after much negotiation, Awning Systems agreed to pay only half of the screen repair price. Manager Patrick Glidden told me the replacement price was $75. but his office worker told me the correct price was $65. so we paid $33. to cover half of the replacement cost as reluctantly agreed. (I believe Patrick was trying to recover more than half of the replacement price by telling me an inflated replacement price.) Again in April 2010 workers damaged two of the screens when putting up the awning. I called Patrick at Awning Systems several times between May and July 2010 to have them repair the screens with no response. I finally went to their office and confronted Patrick about the damaged screens and asked why he had not answered any of my numerous messages. He had no answer for his lack of response other than to say he forgot and that he would visit my home the next day to see the damage. He did arrive the next morning and took pictures with his cell phone of the two screens with holes and said he would have to talk to his brother, the owner, and get back to me. He never called me back or answered any of my messages after that. I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau about the incident but they could not get a response from Awning Systems about my complaint and had to close the case as unresolved. I would suggest anyone considering using Awning Systems in Hyannis, MA that they find another more reputable company. The product from Awning Systems was satisfactory, but their customer service is absolutely non-existent. The only person who was helpful was the woman in the office who seemed very embarrassed by Patrick's lack of response. They do NOT stand behind their service. After paying Awning Systems a total of $3800. for two awnings and $200. to finally $295. a year over 10 years to take down/put up and store our awning, we expected much better service and never got it. They were willing to lose our business rather than take responsibility and pay for the damage to two screens their workers had damaged. We have now switched to a different, more reputable awning company.
Description of Work: Awning Systems installed a $2200. screened in awning enclosure on the back of our house July 1999. In 2007 we purchased a new awning for $1600. to replace the worn one. Every year between 1999 and April 2010 they took down, stored and put the awning back up over the screened enclosure for a charge of $200. to $295. as the price of this service increased over that timeframe.
